  • While it is true that the BFG Edition was really heavy in 7th Gen systems (this chip being only marginally better than those), I was still shocked by the awful performance of such an old game in this iGPU. Even at this resolution, which is actually slightly smaller than 1080p in terms of raw pixel count, i couldn't get a stable 60 fps, despite lowering the, admittedly, barebones graphics options in this PC port to their lowest and never being GPU-limited during testing. I eventually decided to raise some of the settings to keep the image quality at an acceptable level and compromised with a 40 fps cap but not even that was 100% stable. I later found out about the OpenGL stability issues on AMD systems, which explains how such a recent CPU/iGPU combo has so much trouble with framepacing in this game.
Some of the additional performance drops are due to OBS, which i'm using to record these videos. You most likely won't have the exact same performance drops if you play the game normally.
Specs (at the time of recording):
Laptop: HP 15-EF2000 (AMD Ryzen 5700U with 16 GB of 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM and 512 GB of SSD Storage)
    External Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G5
