Is the 1994 Subaru WRX STI the ULTIMATE rally car ICON?

- This Subaru WRX STI is a JDM legend. The 1994 model year was the first for the acclaimed Subaru STI. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged flat-4 producing 274 HP & mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Power of course is getting to the ground through Subaru's AWD. This 1994 STI is one of just 200 that were produced. Let me show you all the details of when the Subaru WRX STI legend began.

Well this could be the coolest car and dealer you have been to yet official JDM STI
Super rare my man
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
I had this car in 2004 for 3 years. The most amazing car I've driven. I used to get excited looking at it getting ready for the drive to work. The start up sound the cold air in through the larger air filter. The whistle off the turbo. Just wow. The handling on English roads. Man I need one again.
Thanks for sharing that great input and perspective from your ownership!
I like it man. I don’t get tired of seeing these cars.
Jayar M I’m so glad that I could share it with you!
Split screen, I like it.... Nice perspective From a professional Race car driver.. Thanks Joe that was fun..
Kenny-D I am so glad that you liked that setup. I was very happy the way it turned out!😊🏁
I am one of the fortunate ones, I own and drive a Version 4 STi GC8 everyday! From 🏴
That white R33 GTR though
I knew you would notice it.
It’s actually a GTS25-t you can tell by the fenders. Cool looking one though.
skylinedude951 the expert eye!
Mr L0wK3y one of my favs.
I used to have a neighbour who had a GT2000 or another version and it was a big moment when he drove past my house! This car has a lot of symbolism and sentimental value!! One of my top favourite cars!!! 🏎
The wing that started it all on the Subaru
Sam Lung so true!
That’s a hot car. GC8 is my fav gen
Best looking Subaru ever. I owned a '99 2.5 rs a couple years ago and the look was the same. I was making heads turn everywhere I went. it's just an awesome car. If Subaru brings back that wrx model tomorrow, I'll be first in line to trade my '18 wrx. Another great Subaru review man!
Thanks Joe so much for this review I absolutely love Subaru WRX STI's their awesome, I also love the sound that STI's make. Would love to see a review and drive of your 2018 Subaru WRX STI TYPE RA 1 day. Thanks Joe.
Man would be an awesome photo op to have that sti detailed and take a few pics with your RA.
Ben Valenzuela that’s a really great idea!😎👍🏻
Guys I need your help, my mother had a cardiac arrest three nights ago but she is doing very well right now if y’all can send some hope down my way.... thanks for the vid as usual raiti Subaru’s are a great vehicle
Sorry to hear that. My prayers are with you!🙏🏼
One word, "Beautiful!!!"
Great review Joe. Super nice STI
I think we're about the same age so this era of cars is special. Since you've got an in with Montu hopefully you can keep the 90's JDM stuff coming. It's just up from here with the Evo's, STi's, Celica GT-Four's, etc.
Patterson was the perfect road to take this car down, it's nice having the privilege to live within 5 minutes of Montu Motors.
Can’t wait for the type RA 2 door GC that will be coming great video
Rear wiper is a JDM giveaway (apart from RHD obviously). Nice originality. Great video!
doryanthes67 you hit the nail on the head!👍🏻
What kind of cars dealer that has about 5 GTR skylines? This is heaven for me❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Kenny Phun I totally agree! It’s s nice JDM heaven!😎👍🏻
Very cool! Thanks for sharing it Joe! 🤩👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I am glad that you liked it!
I would like to import an evo ll and one of these on day. Great classic
Korey Himself that sounds like a dream garage to me!
I always wanted one, such a great car 👍🏽
Arty's Garage sane here! 😎👍🏻
Sucks that the driver seat isn't original, rest of this Ver1 looks mint though!
It has that sweet closed deck Ej20g
Left school when this puppy was released Joe! 😊🏎💨🍻
Same here!
i was literally just looking at this car and you uploaded this video
BDG111 serendipity!
Methamphetameme AWESOME 😂
Glad to say this car will be mine soon :)
That sound. Wow
I'd love to find one of these in mint condition in a barn or something. I have 2004 Subaru Forester XT in mint condition, I own newer cars but I love old turbo Subaru's, they really are fun too drive.
Nice blast from the past! Without all the Federally mandated equipment what is the curb weight of that car Joe?
I totally agree with you! It is 2,895 lbs
🚙🙏🏻🚙Awesome video Joe!! What a cool car!! Keep up the amazing content!! I am wearing my merch today and it is the most comfortable shirt ever!! Have a great weekend God bless ya brother!!🙏🏻🚙🚘🚙🙏🏻
Shaun Christensen thank you my friend! I appreciate the support!
Very unique review.
newest bear thanks for letting me share it with you!
My brother bought this exact car...
Literally this exact one lol
Benny Bagel?
I have this exact car now how long did he own it?
When he let go of the wheel I watched the car go out of the lane lmao 🤣
The point to getting these cars is the whole feel of the car. It's completely mechanical feeling from the shifter, the tranmission, how the turbo spools, and you can feel the power click from different parts of the car just totally mechanical compared to majority of cars today just goes with no feedback hardly any vibration.
Hi Joe,
I drive a GF8 (2001 Impreza Outback Sport) and its an absolutely amazing car. I got very lucky and picked up a single owner car that wound up at a local BMW/Mini dealership last year. The previous owner kept care of it meticulously and drove the car for 17 years and only put on 129,584 miles. I love driving the thing so much that I am already close to 160,000 miles.
I get a lot compliments wherever I go and very few cars give that raw driving sensation such as the GC8 / GF8 you mentioned in the video. This was THE car in my opinion that gave Subaru it's street cred today. It's a sleeper car and soon to be collector's car in my opinion. If you're interested the original GC8/GF8 designer in Japan has an instagram (@teshimades) and you can see a photo of him here in front of the car he designed: instagram.com/p/BvEvwlSg4K1/
He also has a IMPREZA WRX STi Version2 (1995) 555 Replica (Carlos Sainz/Monte Carlo). Very few people are aware that Carlos Sainz Jr's (F1 Driver for 2019 Mclaren-Renault) father did drive for Subaru during the Colin Mcrae years.
Love that you take the time out to show rare cars that some of your viewers may not have been around for. Please keep doing them!
The front fascia reminds me of my old 1993 toyota corolla
Josue Aguilar well an Impreza is a competitor of it!👍🏻
That spit that flys out of his face at 2:56 freaks me out.
Nic C sorry man. It was pretty hot.
To be an 'all original' car, this car should have colour codes sideskirts, not plain black! Being an Impreza Sti, it should also have a red inlet manifold, this was one of the hallmarks of all the Sti engines!
Those are some very good points John!
I know people love the 2 door and the 22b but for me the 4 door is the way to go just has that Subaru haritage I guess you lose a bit of haritage with the 4 door but yeah would be cool If Subaru did a modern version with 2 doors
I totally agree with you!
I've got one!
Can you review on an Evolution Mitsubishi
BanyMany ! Any particular year?
The latest model, then on your next vids do the older models
Just to clarify, Subaru produced 200 STi models each month. So this is number 90/200 made in June 1994. So nowhere near as rare.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective on this one! I appreciate you watching!
Some STI models didn't even come with a stereo if I remember correctly. That's a sweet ride Joe! Not one puff of smoke. Love it
mine didn't come with a stereo
Type RA's didn't, awesome cars
Those spoilers are super hard to get hold of
I was 😂😂😂😂😂😂 when he said “idle like a pussy cat”
The UNICORN 🦄
Pao Xiong 22B 🏆👍🏻
can you review subaru gf8 .
As soon as they get one in I'm all over it.
Wow. I'm the same age as this car lol
Sam Lung 😎👍🏻
When in doubt, flat out.
That wing is ver1 ONLY.

Joseph James 😎👍🏻
I have a 1999 400hp GF8 WRX (EJ207). I wanted one when I was 19 when they came out but here in Oz they were the ram raiders car of choice and insurance was upwards of $4k a year for someone my age...... only bought it a few months ago and my wife was not impressed at my middle age crisis purchase. The smile this little wagon puts on my face on the weekends when I take her for a spin was worth the money I paid for it.......and the constant shade my darling wife gives me 😜 love the review mate, great work as usual. if you wanna check my old wagon out - instagram.com/p/B0K2tjwgmhS/?igshid=1l5vh77c6z63i
😍😎👌🏼
I have the 25/200

@Mr L0wK3y what truck should i get then? what do u like?
Mr L0wK3y would you recommend purchasing a Subaru wrx? Currently saving money to buy my first car and have been eyeing the wrx for a while now but heard it can come with its maintenance problems. I guess I’m looking for a reliable daily driver as my first car. Just trying to get some advice if a subi is the way to go
mccali I will be doing a Tundra very soon!😎👍🏻
Wow 105,000 km mileage is super low for a 94 model year!
RedPanda I totally agree with you!
They produced 50 per week, 200 per month.
Thanks for that great info!
1.5 million yen in Japan , $18000usd not a bad price in Usa
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one Ben!
@@RaitisRides it would cost $27000 in Australia,I'm surprised no ones bought it I check the site $15,990 now
Maybe
HansDelbruck53 possibly 😉
i have 95 wrx identcal to this but lower spoiler thank god that spoilers hideous Even has the same paint fade on back side garnish hi from new zealand
Why did it look like a Toyota Corolla?
Remember the Impreza is a compact car to go up against the Corolla.
Never knew that. But very true.

And 25 years later Subaru is still notorious for having shitty sound systems in their cars. The audio in my 2019 STI is garbage.
That’s a nice car but now they are way overpriced
Adin I feel your pain!
Supply & demand the becoming collectables 1.5 million yen in Japan , one with 70000km is 2.8 million yen . If you think 1997 type r v3 will be cheap the near 2 million yen in Japan expect alest $20000usd in Usa , r32 gtr is 2.5 million yen. These days v3 type r $22000 NZ , 15000 pounds in UK, 20000 Euros Germany
1st 😌
You are on it!
Looks like a camry
