    I always found it fascinating that all of my sanders have variable speed (which I don’t use) standard but I have to out of my way to get variable speed on a grinder (which I do use).

      Gotta love the variable grinders. Smaller rooster tails, better controll as well as not melting ali or plastic as much.

    • @robertrada4783
      @robertrada4783 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@nevyn6071 Considering the wide variation of applications and attachments, I don’t understand why fixed speed grinders even exist. I guess because people want cheap grinders, but it’s pretty wild they make separate brushless ones since you need everything necessary for variable speed control anyway. Hell, most of the ones that don’t have a speed selector dial have speed control built in anyway. They monitor the whole show and show down and speed up based on how much pressure you’re putting on the material.

    I can't speak for their tools, but when our supplier ditched Mirka sandpaper, we ditched our supplier as the subsequent stuff was completely inferior.

  • @SammyInnit
    @SammyInnit Před 3 měsíci +1

    I have the Deros and Deos, and they're the best sanders I've used other than the rotex. The only thing I dislike about them is the power cables. I've had a few fail. Where the relief part of the plug for the tool is, the copper strands must break with fatigue. Always seems to be where they go. They could have used some thicker stranded wire, but ease of motion would likely be affected.

  • @schwartzmatthewe

    I’ll stick with the festool sanders. I don’t like the stupid lever on the Mirka.

    I just bought the deros 2🙌 it has a 400w motor, has less vibration and I'm hoping it's more reliable than the old older model😅

    • @sigi9669
      @sigi9669 Před 3 měsíci +1

      There's a "2"?!
      ... There's a "2"!!
      I've got the "1.5" (350W Bluetooth) which may have had the abysmal reliability fixed. (Even if we will never actually know. As, according to Mirka, there never was a reliability issue).
      I can't say I've ever needed more power. But have you used the older model? If so, do you notice less vibration?
      The mere thought of giving this horrible, horrible company even more money already hurts me. But even less tingly fingers would be tempting..

    Thanks for the interesting review. I chose a Festool 150mm ETS EC (5mm stroke) over the Mirka because at that time 3 years ago, I heard Mirka had some quality control issues. That said, I wouldn't discount them for a 150mm with a 3mm stroke.
    Having a battery on a sander that is supposed to be light is a paradox, especially when using dust extraction.
