Donny Osmond - Soldier Of Love [Extended Mix] (1988)

In Late '80s America, Donny Osmond was NOT a name you wanted to put on a record if you wanted it to sell. So Capitol Records, having signed Donny after a string of comeback hits in Europe, released the song "Soldier Of Love" as a promo record that just listed the artist as D.O. Before you knew it, the song was connecting with people, and had a genuine buzz going around it.
Fast forward to 1989 when out of the blue, Donny Osmond's self-titled album on Capitol was released. I was working in a record store, and played it in-store to see how the rest of it was... it was great! People kept coming up asking if I was playing the new Richard Marx... "Nope, you're not gonna believe who this is!" and we sold so many copies as this scenario played out over and over!
All these years, I never heard an extended mix, and had pretty much given up hope, when a few months ago I stumbled on this import 12" that doesn't SAY it's an extended mix, but it clocks in at around 6 minutes, as opposed to the 3:50 of the album and single versions... So I bought it!! And yes, it is definitely an extended / dance / club / whatever they want to call it, remix!

I haven't picked up a copy... It's really, REALLY overpriced in my opinion.
