- THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY - the World’s first analog 3D printer
I’m quite familiar with 3D printing. And I’m willing to recognize its benefits: how it allows me to create products ever more swiftly and efficiently. How it lessens the toil. I even believe it’s a bonus for the ways we compose our surroundings. Still, I often feel left out - it’s rather an emotion than a fact. Are these printed products still mine? Or are they merely a result of this new technology? I have the urge to reclaim my authorship, to reduce this sense of alienation.
So, I decided to rebuild the machine and to alter its configuration. From now on, I will have to power the mechanism physically. And, by adding the force of my body as the only source of energy for the process, I am able to re-establish my relationship with its outcome. The products finally seem to be mine again - or at least the result of an equipollent collaboration.

Any questions on the build? let me know below!
if you were wondering about the influx of attention, your machine was posted to reddit www.reddit.com/r/DeepIntoCZcams/comments/gk50si/a_fully_mechanical_3d_printer/
how long did it take to design/build
What was your inspiration to do this project? Also the large spinning "propeller" thing, is that acting like a speed governor?
@@Innuya thanks! I'll comment there as mechanical Daniel :)
Is it printing clay?
I’ve never seen “vase mode” interpreted quite so literally.
How does this not have more views?!
Those exact words just went through my head as I saw your response here! I just found this channel!
@@wickedprotos1937 I posted a link of this on Facebook, Mewe, and Minds.com Not telling anyone what to do, but thisdeserve that AND to be featured by the Autor on Instructables.
3 whole years later, hasnt even surpassed half a million views
Clearly the effort put into this is likely not going to be appreciated. Getting all the gears and whatnot timed just right so that it would push out the material at the correct rate is incredible. Great job!
This should be getting more attention it’s great
I KNOW THIS IS FROM THREE YEARS AGO AND ITS AWESOME.
It's basically like a simple automaton.
It’s not that useful but still a masterpiece of planning and engineering.
Love your speed control, they used minature fans as governors on old mechanical music boxes.
Incredible! Wishing the algorithm had shown me sooner.
This is simply incredible. The level of precision is astonishing. I can only imagine how much work went into creating this thing.
This is absolutely amazing! I love when someone thinks on analogics solutions! Not everything is digital nowadays
Daniel you are a genius with gold in his hands.
This is clever, beautiful,...
À piece of art and smart technology.
Awesome! I loved the design and how it enables you to create any hollow shape. Imagine being able to change the wire's shape in real time, or driving the guide with your hands, endless possibilities!
I feel like my sd card won’t work on this
You need to do a weekly build series on this. I'm completely amazed that I haven't seen this before! I would love to see how you built it and the thought process that went in to the design. Incredible!
Why haven't I seen this video before? Oh Lord! It's just beatifull. It's very very cool. If Da Vinci was alive, he would be proud of you! I hope you continue to do the mechanical 3D printer project, don’t stop, please!
Imagine if da Vinci would saw blueprint of this
What would have happened? He never BUILT any machines.
@@powderslinger5968 but he draw so many blueprints. Maybe he will come up with a new blueprint
@@archivushka So you are fascinated with the idea of da Vinci making a copy of an existing blueprint?
y'all are lame let a man dream
@@Nawmps As a man I had a dream to ask a man about his thoughts of another man making blueprints made by another man. Then came along another man that called my dream lame. What do you have to say about that man?
Quite simply .... just fantastic!
I'm very impressed!!
This Video should have similar views than the marble machine.
Sounds like marble music in the background
Most beautiful machine I've ever seen
Wow, super amazing!
Total genius of beautiful engineering execution
Absoutly incredible.
Simply brilliant
Marvelous. Thank the algorithm!
Outstanding!
Absolutely astonishing! What a masterwork!
This looks so awesome
Truly remarkable work!
Ingenuity at its finest! Awesome 👍🏼
Outstanding
Beautiful
Ok, this just blew me away! This is amazing! SUBSCRIBED!
Beautifully clever machine! Love it. So elegant in design and execution. Can't wait to see more.
Amazing work!
One of the best inventions I have ever seen. Well done!
That's so impressive!
Further proof that anyone named Daniel is a legend
This is incredible!
Beautifully expressed!
so wonderful
Absolutely brilliant, fantastic work!
How can this only have 1K views?! This is so amazing and so original.
This is phenomenal. This is the kinda stuff I live to see
This is art in its purest form
Amazing!
Brilliant! Well done.
That's awesome! And I love the different colors of the clay to make patterns.
This is stunning ! The big fan is so cool.
I am blown away.
You have got to be kidding me this is so awesome!
Brilliant!
Loved the indexing work. Great work
WOW !! It's a great piece of engineering. Love it !
Pure genius!
A fantastic show!
Awesome!
That's so cool!
Wow, awesome
Well done Daniel. Inspirational. 🚀
This might be one of the most creative things I have seen man do. It seems with this configuration you can only print in "vase mode" (not to discredit this marvel of human engineering), I could only imagine what a mechanical system needed to do full complex fdm object. absolutely stunning, I could only hope that I could make something so amazing. Thank you so much for this.
Very impressive
hats off!
This is utterly mind boggling
Davvero geniale! Complimenti!
Absolutely amazing Idea, genius!
Man this is incredible! Those vases are pretty nice too
Très ingénieux !
Magnifique!
That is pure genius my friend, Just brilliant!
This is next level engineering
This put the biggest smile on my face. Something about making (relatively) new tech simple and mechanical is just fantastic. No layer shift either, which would be nice lol.
Fantastic,!
A true Daniel Düsentrieb. Your work is beyond awesomeness.
Mind blowing :) love it . Thank you
Your great! Thanks for posting this!
wow. cinematography is on point.
Dude, freaking awesome
Brilliant
Very Cool
You are great person man.
Well done.
Suuuuper cool
Awesome
Wow just wow
Wuaoo!! Stupendo!
I love it.
This is crazy, Daniel
man this is tight as hell. you're great
incredible, it is just that, incredible
Amazing! Thanks a lot! :)
Brilliant kinematic sculpture😁
Great video thanks for sharing!
This is nothing less than a miracle , at least for me ..great job sir
Amazing, this video deserves millons views!
Super interesting, nice demonstration of analog (much analog as posible) open loop control
Oh this is cool
This needs more views
Underrated
Daniel, this is amazing!! I can not believe you only have 209k views in 2022, lets change that!
It's like coming back from digital electronic computers to mechanical precise automatons...
