Ty dude ;) The data are great but still insufficient for the algorithm (65% watched instead of 34% for the long videos), in 3 days it displayed the video on 30700 screens, which is lower than my total of subs, of course people can be AFK but it's a proof it refuses to promote it to other people (in fact only 1000/30700 weren't subs). So the situation isn't good, I'll have to reduce the duration again to reach 75% and check if this is a step required, it is for shorts so if the algorithm is the same I expect a significant difference over 75%.

I personally like the full level episodes, but those who watched FoxMaster's documentary appreciate the balancing act he has to perform to be able to keep the views up and his subscriber base growing. I think he has come up with a nice compromise here. If you want the whole chapter at once you just have to wait a little longer.

Is doing this in parts working out better? Imo I think it's better to be in one big part. Most of us enjoy longer content but ik short content is what's unfortunately getting more popular due to ppl's shrinking brains.
The problem is there, if most viewers probably prefer long videos they are only 34% to watch them entirely, while they are 65% with these shorter versions. The algorithm doesn't take into consideration what people claim to prefer (or even the likes), it only watches these number, for the algorithm 34% is like a score of 34/100 (really bad). Even if we both know this is extremly high for videos about 1 hour long, our opinions aren't taken into account by this algorithm. I'm thankfull to people that watched 34% but it was only possible because I did it at a loss. 😨

I don’t remember Tomb Raider looking so good, but damn that lighting looks amazing!
This is the remaster :D, also the video is edited, the game is a 20% darker (which is a problem I think), if you play in the daylight it's almost unplayable. But you can switch to the original at any time to fix the problem ^^ but it will be 30 fps instead of 60 :S

The first part explains the reasoning behind the shorter videos!! This should help them with gaining traction in the algorithm and getting more views. More views = more success = MORE VIDEOS which should result in being longer videos again.
Not a huge fan of the shorter vids, but I know/understand why you're doing it. Maybe I can wait till a whole level is done and watch them in order with a playlist...? 🤔😉 Edit: I see in other posts you'll eventually have a long version. Good deal! 👍

That's true and it's intended because the real Lara wouldn't talk if we think about it 😆 That's why I kept the idea the camera is a character following her, she doesn't feel alone and talk to it 😂 But as the camera can't talk the result is like she is commenting to us 😄
@@FoXMaSteR001 it was a genius idea. I haven’t played that much of the games, does she always travel alone? If she had a companion with a different personality that was also ‘self aware’ they could have some funny banter like 2 chat gpts talking to eachother lol. I love when she shows off her archaeological knowledge too, makes her a lot more believable. Or little things like in another vid she shot a snow leopard then was worried she would get in trouble coz it was endangered. But then later some ice boulders rolled over it which made it look like it was an accident and she commented on that. That’s next level. Now if only I could find a girl like her in my actual life 😂
2:52 I didn't know you could do a crouch-barrel roll! It seems however you can only do it when your about to stand up? Recently I found out they added the forward, barrel roll but you can only do it near a ledge.

So just a lil TR history from one fan to another ❤ in the OG.PS1 TR’s she can’t do that. So back story: there’s a website called TRLE (Tomb Raider Level Editor) = a community of dedicated TR developers who develop playable TR games/levels base off the different CORE TR mechanics for the TR community for Free.
One the of the editors “analyzed the coding of Lara Croft” and discovered that the moves were embedded into her program. In reference- you know how in the Remasters Lara can rotate in the air in TRI now? Well in the OG TRI she was supposed to be able to do it then, but again for the same reason she didn’t have her signature braid, limitation of technology during that time so they fixed it in OG TRII and so own.
Circle back: the developer that analyzed the coding created a mod that allowed her to flipped forward/barrel roll when crouching for the TRLE games. So in conclusion her being able to do it in the Remasters was actually them paying homepage to the developer and the TRLE Community 😊

I think one of the things that makes it difficult for the CZcams algorithm to promote this content is because of how ground-breaking it is.
You're the first channel I know of to in-depth break down how your bot and ai systems work together, which was both novel and topical.
Afterwards, the weekly upload schedule is going to be promoted to those who keep engaging with the content.
I get suggested channels with 500 subscribers because the algorithm is promoting content to keep me on the app longer.
I would suggest that your videos are loved by those of us who are dedicated to the channel, but breaching that new watcher boundary becomes much harder when you're running an established story like this.
I don't think the problem has ever been the videos' length or content, but rather that a series is harder to get into when people try to jump in at any point that isn't the beginning.
My suggestion would be to keep the Tomb Raider series what it is, but to create shorter supplementary content that is easier for new viewers to digest.
I hope any of this can help you grow your channel to the popularity it deserves ✌️
Thank you aegidiu, I think the same way, the problem is I've been doing what you suggest since 8 months and it resulted to a mathematical collapse of the channel. I displayed most data in the video "The Curse of the Algorithm".

Of course there is a chance you didn't notice the shorts videos, maybe because the algorithm know you prefer long videos, but the fact so many subs aren't aware they exist is surprising, if the subs didn't get them it's certain the world didn't too. So are we supposed getting our subs in the first place ? I have trouble to explain my feeling about it but it seems wrong.
@FoXMaSteR001 the algorithm is definitely favoring some things over others, and you're right, I haven't noticed a lot of the small stuff. I have your channel set to notifications, and I'm usually working when I get notified so I can't come watch it until later.
It's a shame CZcams obfuscates so many things outside of creators' control. 😓

Apparently new generation of players prefer the remaster, they can't watch the classic version, according to data less than 2% of viewer are under 24 years old 🤔 Maybe the stats are lying but I want to see if there is a difference, as the new generation is more numerous.

I would but it's already 60% watched with 6 minutes... double the value would put the % below 50%, and the algorithm use that number as a notation. 60% on average means the video worth 60/100 (like a notation). Which isn't enough already :/ It probably needs 75-85% to be considered in the "good student to promote".

The style of play no longer feels like AI. Maybe you should start TR3 again and rethink?
That's the problem of this series, people that don't know the game can't see what is normal or not, here for regular players it's obvious this isn't natural, of course you could reproduce some moves, but doing them in a row immediatly becomes problematic, the same way people that doesn't know Lara's voice won't understand this is cloned.
@@FoXMaSteR001 But, as a long-term TR fan, I enjoyed the idea of the AI Lara going through the levels, even though I knew it wasn't real, it was still entertaining to me. But, to do this, you could play the game AS IF it was an AI Lara, kinda like making a "game movie". I think it would be really fun and it would probably get a lot of views.
You're playing the game as someone who plays it a lot, which, of course, you are, so, that makes sense, but it despoils the "suspension of disbelief".
@@reaceness The idea is cool but it wouldn't be AI anymore, even if I'm good at this game I couldn't do what iLara does, acting like a girl is also problematic as I'm not a a rich girl adventurer, it would need a script, but then the script should fit to the situation which sounds possible but hard in practice, what if the script involves an enemy being there if it's not there ? They move randomly you know 🤔

I think you should do 10 minutes at least, barely have time to get engaged before it's over. I also would have preferred original graphics.
I think the same, I'll publish the longer version later, the problem is this 6 minutes video has a watch duration of 60% on average, if I go to 10 minutes you'll understand it will be less than 60%. And the algorithm won't promote any content below 75%. Of course it will promote it to the subs, but not the other people, and I need new people to compensate the ones that quit, or it's less profitable, not profitable things impact my capacity of making more videos. So to keep it free the only solution is reducing the duration, I don't see more options :/
@@FoXMaSteR001 Have you considered opening a Patreon or similar? Maybe then you wouldn't have to bother yourself so much with trying to game the algorithm.
