Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a 2018 action-adventure video game developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix's European subsidiary. It continues the narrative from the 2015 game Rise of the Tomb Raider and is the twelfth mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series, as well as the third and final entry of the Survivor trilogy. The game was originally released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. Versions for Linux and macOS, and Stadia, were released in November 2019. After release, the game was expanded upon with downloadable content in both a season pass and as standalone releases.

The older I get the more I appreciate the simplistic yet fun play style of these games

id prefer they dont point out what can be climbed soo plainly. The first 3 TR games looked like regular terrain and you had to figure out where to climb. I prefer that aspect in platforming and traversal. We are smart enough to figure things out.

I'd love to see a video game with Nathan Drake and Lara Croft teaming up. 😊

Imagine a Tomb Raider Uncharted crossover game. The dialogue, story and swapping of characters would be fire!
We would have to leave story writing ENTIRELY to Naughty Dog. Crystal Dynamics has garbage story writing. I love Lara but they never did her character much justice as far as authenticity goes
When I say authenticity I mean real human responses and emotional intellect. The camp fire narrating Lara did is a good example of bad dialogue

Love all three of these reboot games, can't wait for the next. This looks this good 5 years ago.
Absolutely and honestly hopefully they add Starfield to that reboot already and fix the lack of interaction when traveling in space it's like full boring fast travel only. Click and go that's it. I am hoping the story gets better but because your character doesn't have a voice in the discussions it seems extremely weird reading your response but listening to another's. Got the simple little things and I would have nothing to complain about

And we know already since the announcement of Starfield that it will not be an space travel simulator but an bethesda RPG game through and through.

i recently played tomb raider , rise of the tomb raider and shadow of the tomb raider, incredible games really action packed and fun

A glitch years ago for the Rise game allowed me to get all of its DLC for free, he he... I thought "yeah, I won't access it" but it worked! 🏆

Shadow Of The Tomb Raider was such a good game. It would be very hard to top.
Its DLC was worth all my gaming dollars back then!I liked to randomly change her numerous outfits!

oddly enough my favorite part about these tomb raider games is their sound design for gunplay actually being loud. There is real impact to them. I was blown away in the first game at just how intense fire fights were. so many games dampen the sound effects of gun so much that it becomes absurd even games soley dedicated to gun play dont even come close. obviously it cant be realistic without ruining your eardrums without sound protection or ringing your ears but this series tends to find the perfect balance of guns having a much bigger sound scape while not drowning out the music and other sounds entirely. But most games are just too quiet in their sound mixing for guns. I really appreciated this series for that aspect.
I loved the originals 1 thru 3, but everything after that moved away from what the game was. It didnt need XP points, side missions, or the GTA style open world. It was a puzzle game seasoned with a little action.
I definitely agree with this, I think they lost touch with what it was the people loved about the game.
We can only hope that they'll bring back the old ways of more puzzle than action.
Totally agree. I bizarley loved being stuck in a room for two or three hours trying to find the a way out. I guess they just made the games easier for the masses. I cannot say I blame them , but I am however, really looking forward to playing the remastered Tomb Raiders 1-3 in February. The new games look better than ever but they are almost just a walk through compared to the suffering we had to go through with the origionals. Making the enemies harder to kill doesn't constitute making the puzzles harder.

I'm sooo excited for the anime. I've played the trilogy plenty times and i camt wait to play the ORIGINAL trilogy once it comes out February 2024. So many exciting Tomb Raider things coming next year!
I can say that this game was so well optimized that when I did play on 1070 ti it was looking amazing that other modern games on 3080 ti look faded or even worse.

I wish they did The same update for Rise of The Tomb Raider running on PS5, The 4K mode at 60fps, because this is absolutely amazing and beautiful for Shadow of The Tomb Raider running on PS5 !! 🤩👏 so much PS4 games deserves a 60fps patch for free like they did for this game and for Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us part 2, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins, etc… just a little patch via retro compatibility and games are looking awesome running on PS5 !! 🤷♂️👍💯

Yeah same on Xbox sadly, rise only runs 4k 30, or 1080 60..... Which in comparison to shadow, is very jarring.
2013 tomb raider runs at 60fps on series X at least, which goes a long way.

I finished shadow of the tomb raider and then started playing tomb raider definitive edition again. I forgot how much better the first one is.
First one was my goty back in 2013, and still the best imo.

I do like the white highlights looks stunning i always have to use a charity filter to get sharper highlights and image on my pc setup with my 4k monitor but that courses framerate cost i couldn't afford a top end one

Eveyone: I want an uncharted crossover.
Me: with the open world they developed throughout this reboot trilogy, I wished they were as keen with the details and hidden easter eggs, side quests across the maps the way RDR2 was. The way people still keep on finding hidden gems in that game after all these years is astounding.

Maybe my device won't work with differences, or is it me see no difference? I mean textures are sharper but i can't see a lot of changed from older version.. Perhaps the game it self graphics were stunishing already.

this was on sale & bought & played it on my PS5 again and it's even more amazing graphics wise! Mind you i have purchased this on my xbox one awhile back and PS5 graphics was superior & blew xbox one away!
I do wonder how that can be. I just looked in the store and I don't see a next-gen update. Meaning this is same as the PS4 version. No enhanced graphics or whatsoever. Or do you get a special update once you buy it?
@@RomboutVersluijs No special update. Playing it in PS5 or Xbox x you will definitely see the difference than playing it from Ps4 or Xbox one console. The graphics is a little bit more enhanced especially if you set it on performance mode.

I loved this game. My only real complaint about it was they didn’t make another Endurance mode for it like Rise of the Tomb Raider, that mode was a lot of fun and super intense.
I just read that in 2021 it did get a 4k and performance mode update. It's just not stated on the game page. Which is quite weird

The level designs for the reboot were absolutely atrocious. Way too linear. Like walking down long hallway after long hallway. Completely missed the mark on what Tomb Raider is supposed to be about which is exploration.
