Do you have a recipe for your brown sugar glazed carrots?
I just use canned sliced carrots. I put a little butter and a little Brown sugar and cook them kinda hard till some of the liquid thickens. I really can't tell you any good measurements but I will make them again soon and show it in a video for you.

This is wonderful. One of my volunteer duties is to help underprivileged people to learn how to care for themselves. Crock*Pots can be found in thrift stores since most people have gone to Instant Pots. Teaching people how to make large enough meals using simple ingredients and one appliance cuts down on the anxiety and confusion they usually have when trying to cook for themselves or their family. I genuinely appreciate how you SHOW viewers that it's perfectly right to use 'store brand' ingredients! Some people may try to be a bit hoity toity about it but others may honestly be a bit wary but seeing a fine cook like yourself using them should let them ALL know that doing so is perfectly fine.
No one will ever know the difference.
I've been guilty of doing this, but since everything in the stores have doubled in price I now started using store brand on almost everything.
@@shirleylerma8290 Thankfully store brands do tend to be of comparable quality/taste, etc., but I've happily found a couple that I like better than the name brands. "Fooding" has become such an expensive chore lately - good luck!

I was born with anosmia, so I buy top brands to avoid bad food.
In college, I was drinking fruit juice from Aldi’s and a roommate said it was no longer good.
Never shopped there for non brands again.
I visited Aldi’s for dog food prep…and the veggies freeze dried took SO MUCH TIME, I am convinced they had excessive water to add to poundage like our local butcher did (thawed out chicken had 1.75 pounds of water when thawed!)

The Salisbury Steak was devine. I doubled up the recipe and chopped up some baby bella mushrooms. I cooked on high on high 4 hours and it was very moist. I served it up with pickled red cabbage , green beans and instant potatoes.

My family loves it when I make Salisbury steak but it's pretty time consuming to make, so I'm excited to try this crockpot way of doing it.

These recipes are perfect for me. My husband doesn’t really like crockpot dishes or casseroles. I’m like of course you don’t… it’s too easy so it couldn’t possibly be good. 😊He’s going to love it when I bake a chicken pot pie this coming weekend. Hi, Mel. Your video just popped up today-how have I never seen your videos before?!?!? YT recommends plenty of terrible videos, but yours are a godsend. My 81-year-old sister does almost all of the cooking for her family (because she has more time and dies like to cook). She just broke her clavicle and has to wear a sling on her right arm for 2 MONTHS!!!!! These recipes will be perfect for her❤️❤️❤️.
Plus, she loves Aldi’s and I love that you said to use what you have on hand and just go with it. Your calm and thoughtful style will be do helpful for her because she doesn't use crock pots often.

8:06 Mel this is the 4th crockpot recipe I have seen in the past two days and I have to make this crockpot steak n gravy. I love it over mashed potatoes 🥔 and green beans. Some type of toast to go with it too. Yummy. It's good on a open face sandwich too.

A great tip for easy clean up. Crock pot liners. When done pick up liner out of crock pot and toss in the garbage.🍁🇨🇦

For a slurry I always use flour and milk. I notice alot of people use water. My fil's girlfriend taught me this alot of years ago. She was from down south and that is all I have ever used since. My mom always used flour and water. She was a great cook but I always used mik since I learned it from the girlfriend!! Just liked it alot more!

I LOVE that recipe, such an amazing flavor from hardly any ingredients at all! And I love the liners, too.
