Watching the race I'm speechless to hear they don't make Paris and they're under 3 mins. Definitely, the athletic federation should revisit the rules....
More conditioning and endurance training is needed. The 400m event is not a glamorous event to train for, and only the most dedicated and talented will succeed.
It's not meant for ALL countries to make the relay, just enough for competitive Heats round and Finals. It's always been this way and we've always managed to qualify. But when your 3 fastest nationals boycott the qualifying race then this is the result.
Who's idea was it to put all teams in the same uniform? Doesn't make sense. At least have them wear black green or gold shorts based on which team they were on.... different arm sleeve.. headband or something. Seem like they could've said... if incoming runner mess up... whoever is in first, that's who you get the baton from and go lol. The audience wouldn't know.

The starting leg was weak. The pressure was on him to kill the time so the anchor leg could cruise through but great effort
