]www.musclecarof... - Many people didn't equate Buicks with high-performance cars, but this 1969 GS Stage 1 4-speed Convertible in sinister triple black proves them all wrong! I love the video. Buicks never got respect till they won the race. I owned a 1969, Buick, GS 350, Gold, w/ Black roof, I loved the car. I pray, that someday, I can find a nice 1969, GS 400, Stage I. At least one I can afford that is.

Nobody mentioned the Stage II package. It was fast maybe too fast, that's why it didn't make it to production. I thought they made about 15 of them, mainly for testing, press testing and show. It was a parts package sold at the dealers.

The Stage II was made to compete against the other brands in the NHRA Super Stock class. Back in those days all the manufacturers built factory Super Stock race cars. The Stage II Buicks were made to compete in SS/B I think. SS/A was dominated by the Hemi Barracudas and Darts. Everyone wanted a piece of the "win on Sunday & sell on Monday" sales tactic.

a dam good performer on the street, but nowhere near the horsepower potential of the Boss 429 Ford engine.

The 69 Skylark GS had a 400. The 455 wasn't offered until 1970 when GM finally ended that stupid " No more than 400 cubic inches in any cars but Corvettes and Full size cars" edict they had for years

The only problem with your "moon" analogy is that we never actually went to the moon. The whole thing was done on a sound stage. We didn't have the technology to get thru the Van Allen radiation belts.

and we should've gone back, thanks to this 'in depth' explanation of how innocent deadly cosmic radiation is to the human body! while we travel thru in a aluminum-can thin-walled Apollo craft...
it's funny how NOT only did America never go back to the moon, but the Russians, far more advanced, whether you want to admit it or not, than us HAVE YET TO GO...ain't that something?
      yes indeed.....yes indeed heh
now back to that bitchin' Buick....a beauty she is!

And the twin towers never disappeared. It was just a David Copperfield illusion and till this day everyone still thinks they are gone. But we know better. Other people are fools.
