- Your aquarium fish will thrive, show their best colors and breed - if you provide them with a variety of live foods. Daphnia are small crustaceans that can be caught in most ponds and lakes. They are also a great food source for your fish, and they can be cultivated garden ponds or in your aquarium room as well.
In this video i show how I find, catch and feed daphnia to my fish.
I will follow up with a video on cultivating daphnia.
Thanks for watching.

Along with wild daphnia, various parasites and diseases can be introduced into an aquarium with fish 🫣
You are right about that, but I have been feeding my fish dapnia, mosquito larvae, copepods and other live foods for 4 decades without any major problems. I will rather have lively, happy fish that breed and are strong enogh to fight of any deceise - than fish that live a boring life in a sterile and safe environment. I will leave you with this quote: "Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing."
