Chronic pain patients need access to new treatments, especially those that can influence the body’s inhibitory pain mechanisms without medication. David M Glick, DC, DAPPM, FASPE, CPE, talks about what’s new in pain management devices, specifically, the non-invasive wearable technology known as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation devices. Find out more about the promising devices that can be used alone, or in conjunction with medications, to boost treatment efficacy.

I think add-on therapies. I am an expert on how my body and I can advise what works personally on myself.

One thing really nice about these devices is that they can be used in conjunction with standard of care treatment as an "add-on" to obtain enhanced clinical outcomes. Patients tend to be their best arbiters of what does work best for them. They do tend to find the way in which these devices work best for them.

@davidg3445 I do think it is sad the fallout that nobody likely saw coming when it came to promoting methods to get these devices reaching more people. When dealing with politics, for every win, there is always someone waiting to use it to their own political agenda, in the end. Like a strategic game of chess, nothing is ever as it seems. We should all be standing and pledging allegiance to the American flag. What we lose in the end is our country and the foundation for which it was built on. After watching the 2019 Perscription drug Abuse summit at min 48 or so with the Arkansas Fedral Prosecutor, and the fact that I was a resident in Arkansas who was also a pain patient years prior and the talk then was how opiates were soon Going to be completely illegal it makes sense. Especially when the largest hospital in Arkansas at the time then had agent's in office and it was plainly put that they apologized because they knew I needed their help but they were to scared. This crap started in Southern states and spread slowly. Like the fedral government said they will never stop arresting doctors or getting creative on how to do it absent of provable crimes. It is no wonder surgeon's are not prescribing after surgeries. Can't afford to lose them. But more and more people are aware of the tricks with no pain medications following procedures and are starting to opt out and cancel surgeries. So in the end nobody wins. Devices cannot be implanted and pain patients are being dismissed because of false positive drug tests being told they need to agree to addiction medicine so that the truth of the matter, suboxone and like products can be prescribed. When the true epidemic resides in the antidepressants that cause long term issues and leave paitents unable to come of of. Very dangerous business to even be speaking of. I get it, if their is admission that the CDC lied and fudged numbers and that the national health emergency declared by Trump which denied us the right of public comment periods resulting in no true pain specialist or chronic pain patients input, essentially resulting in a dictatorship like forced laws without any democracy or burden of evidence. CDC not even the lawful regulatory agency so iby all means all laws that slam dunked the spending of opiate litigation money to force the restriction of pain medications when as I heard bit have no proff that what happened is we no longer gaurd poppy fields. I only know that if we are under attack from the inside taking out our healthcare system is the way to do it. It's to the point that now doctors are turning on paitents and willing to sacrifice patients rights out of frustration of being exterminated. And we wonder why we have healthcafe worker shortages. It sure wasn't the pandemic it's self. It was just the best way to set the cdc confusion in order to prevent a real dangerous truth being discovered. Smoke and mirrors that's all it is.
