    Great review! I'm 172cm tall, weigh around 63kg but boot size only US7.5. Do you recommend 147 or 144. I will mostly ride on groomed terrain.
    Many thanks!

      For you size the 144 will be perfect! You'll be able to carve hard and have fun on the whole mountain and squeeze every once of fun out of the Orca!

    Awesome Review! I ordered the 156 about a month back and still waiting for it, but now im wondeirng if the 153 was the route to take. Im 5'10.5 and about 210 pounds. Would you recommend that I call and see if they can change my order to the 153 or would the 156 be better for me?

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 4 lety

      The rule of thumb for the Orca is go smaller than your normal set up as it's made to be ridden small. The 156 you have on order is going to ride more like 160 so it will have lots of float and give you a more surfy feel but will still ride like a big board on the groomers. We always recommend going small but if you are looking for a feel of a big pow board than stick with the 156 but like we tell most people if you want to unleash the true potential of the Orca than size down the 153 for a fun and playful pow/groomer killer board.

    Have a NS TT, Shaper Twin, a Westbound (got on sale, never used) and even an NS25 (never used). Think I have my bases covered but Orca is intriguing. Really only want 2 boards, maybe 3. Don't think I'll ever get down to 1 unless the West Bound just kills. I don't ride park, don't ride switch, Proto TT is just fun to ride. Orca that much fun or quite a bit of overlap if I grabbed one?

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 5 lety

      The Orca would fall in line perfectly for expanding your quiver. It wont overlap the Never Summer Proto as the the Proto will still be your all day every day board, where the Lib Tech Orca will be waiting for the powder days or the days where you just want to surf the mountain. You'll have a lot of fun chasing deep snow or just ripping the groomers on the Lib Tech Orca! When we rode the Orca, we've never had that much fun just carving the groomers!

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 4 lety +1

      You could ride anything from the 150 - 159. . If you really want a pow surfer than bump up to one of the bigger sized Orcas. If you want a super fun, playful and nimble Orca than you ride the 150 but if you want it all than ride the 153!

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 4 lety

      The 159 will be a super fun all mountain size with tons of float and still feel small as your regular powder shape board size would be north of 160. So hope on the 159 and feel what its like to whip a small board will still floating like a regular pow board!

    Hey I ride a 147 Slush Slasher I’m 6.1 83kg but want a new board for Niseko would you go 147 or 153? Love the Slasher but edge hold isn’t great for groomers

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 4 lety +1

      Since the Lib Tech Orca is a hybrid rocker/camber shape paired with magne-traction the 147 will grip and rip groomers! If like the slush slasher but need more edge hold than pick up the 147 Orca! Other wise you can size up to the 150 or the 153 for a more floaty pow surfer!

      Guessing that you have a size 12 or 13 foot than the 156 is the way to go! That way you can still have tons of float and bomb the groomers while being able to enjoy the playfulness of the orca!

      alan lu 153 would be the small and playful ride that turns on a dime and perfect for hunting powder in the trees and truly unleash the Orca’s full potential. The 156 would give you high speed stability and love the deep snow while the 159 will only want deep snow and become a a dream in the back country.

      @@galacticyachts1533 Both would work with the Orca it's more just whether you would prefer the Missions or the Cartels. Both are solid for all mountain riding but the Cartels are arguably more comfortable than the Missions.

    • @pureboardshopmd
      @pureboardshopmd  Před 4 lety

      The 153 would give you lots of float and make the Orca thrive in deeper snow but we would recommend sizing down to the 150 or even the 147 to truly take advantage of the Orca and have some real fun on the whole mountain.

      We would recommend the 147. You can ride the 153 as big powder board size but to take full advantage of how the Orca rides the 147 would be quick and easy to control and create a super fun ride!

      thankfully you are in luck and they are releasing 150cm Orca later this year which would be the perfect comprise between the 147 and 153! Both 147 and the 153 are on both ends of your spectrum of riding. The 147 will be quick and easy to control and be a super fun ride, and the 153 would love the deep snow and give you more high speed stability on the hard pack. But the 150 could be your answer to riding it all!
