This was absolutely ridiculous. I watched for an hour, ate dinner and took a shower and when I came back they were all still in the same place they were before. They stood behind that car for 3.5 hours. And no, this is not a result of "coward cops". This is a direct result of CA lawmakers making it harder for cops to do their job. Any other state, you would have had an arrest team formed 10 minutes max after the vehicle came to a stop and the suspect in custody.
Exactly. The way we Coddle these people is sick. Look at the Riots and how these cops practically give the rioters Back Rubs before arresting them. Sick of this.

Undertrained officers is a huge problem. Failed spike strips, failed cs gas, failed to see into vehicle, spent HOURS to secure the scene. Tragic on all fronts.
Inefficient use of time and a lack of consideration for the thousands of people commuting back home. What if a life threatening emergency had arised and the 80 was needed?

Possibly, follow the suspect and make an arrest when he is not in a vehicle to avoid a major incident? Who was the suspect and did he have a criminal record; why did he shoot at another vehicle that prompted the chase?
Law enforcement acted with caution and compassion. They do, they are damn, If they don't act they are damn! Its easy for critics to play next day QB. One thing that is evident, taxpayer saving.
Does the State track how much taxpayer money is spent on such practices? Perhaps there are more cost effective means to subdue and apprehend criminals. From some of the News footage, can’t help but see some thin attempts at stopping this little Toyota Corolla. The failed attempts to employ the tire strips looked awful - just poor performance on the part of the police. Surely there must be more economical and effective ways of handling this. All those useless hours trying to reason with an unreasonable person. Ridiculous.
All those hours affecting lives of thousands trying to reason with a dead man!
All those overtime cop hours that the fine citizens of California will be paying tax for.
I’m sure the California administration discussed sending in a social worker to help the suspect express his difficult childhood

the worst police operation ever
That Toyota Corolla with 108hp gave the police a longer chase then those 500hp+ mopars… lol
Lol
Too afraid to pit.....can you imagine?
CA's rediculous chase policy is jeopardizing public safety. If this was Arkansas, it would've been over in minutes. This costs millions in revenue.
Should do another story on how much the standoff cost taxpayers and who was in charge.

That Would’ve Been Resolved Quickly Here In Florida
