- Why are so many millennials leaving the church? It seems fewer people are attending a church in this generation than in previous generations.

âAttending a church buildingâ doesnât make you a Christian anyway... statistics are inaccurate for counting how many are Christ followers...
Exactly. He is deliberately associating churchlessness with unbelief. He rebukes the churchless for "unbelief", then he blames evolution for this supposed unbelief.
It is true. You do not have to attend church to be Christian. However, if you are hungry for the word of God, you would want to take Communion often. Therefore, I believe if you do not have the need to take Communion to feel closer to God, you may not be a true Christian.
@@lorestrahan2207 very true, it's a calling to serve others as well.
Every Christian I've met that doesnt attend church lives exactly like non Christian's. The bible tells us not to forsake the assembling of believers (The church) hypocrites aren't an excuse.
That's not the point here. He's talking about the fact that so many young people are not attending church anymore because they see an inconsistensy. Not how many of them are true believers... Of course true believers will not leave. The thing is, that we want to keep them in the church to preach them even if they are not believers. It's obvious. But the problem is that young people who should be discipled, are leaving because of preachers that are not holding on to the truth of scriptures.
I left church not Jesus. I left the hypocrisy.
Especially if they are churches run by the likes of Joel Olsteen, Creflo Dollar, Carl Lentz and co
People expect churches to believe in something. Even unbelievers do. When a pastor gives a bunch of possible interpretations of Genesis 1, he's forgetting that people are there to hear him and his church make a stand on doctrine. If you list a myriad of options, you sound like you actually don't believe any of them. Why would people be convinced by someone with no conviction?
You might be correct on that in most cases but there are some scenarios where it is best for a pastor not to take a firm stance on non-essential doctrines. If a pastor isn't particularly convinced of a certain interpretation of scripture should he preach it boldly as if he were? Is that not disingenuous? Pastors should go through the hard work of studying so that they can have conviction on scripture but there are still some circumstances where they may not reach that point. Considering the overwhelming evidence presented for common descent, I can see why pastors would struggle with confidently preaching one way or another.
@@bjn3232 that is a problem to what is a pastor? Paul tells us.
These are my main observation as children's and teens leader why millenials leave the church ;
1. They are not deep-rooted in the gospel
2. Exposure to legalistic teachings
3. Exposure to moral therapeutic deism teachings.
Following the commandments is not legalism. Most millenials and teenagers dont want to be humble themselves. That's the problem man....
@@gersonmelendez8940 sure, but I didn't say legalism is following commandments
Wilson Waigwa we go to church just to hear that we have to go to church.
Weak man centered preaching rather than the gospel
Nobody EVER has been saved by following the 10 Commandments. Trusting in the finished redemptive work of Jesus on the cross is the ONLY reason I have salvation. đđ€
Well said brother you have helped me alot thank you Lord for this brother I watched your video about heaven the narrow road God bless you all
I can only speak for myself, but the reason I left is because as you get older you begin to see the contradictions and all the grey areas. You also begin to realize that half of what was taught either isnât in the Bible or were specific rules for specific people in a specific time period.
You hear every denomination and creed claim that their brand of Christianity is true and that most, if not all, others are in error. Christianity has three main branches, being Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox. Under Protestantism alone exists a multitude of denominations, and under those denominations they fragment themselves further with conflicting creeds, structures, and statements of faith. They all sincerely believe their particular type of Christianity to be the most faithful and true.
I could go on and on, but thereâs not much point in that...
Render your Life to Christ, that's all.
Christianity is not Catholic, nor Protestant, not Oxthodox.
Bro.Tim why blame evolution and the theorists? It's not at all surprising that church attendance is dropping. That's because preachers have all along focussed on the practice of Christianity (like church going etc.). Any practice is bound to die out. No one has spoken about the loving of a Savior. Hardly any "Christian" today even knows what's loving the Lord with all you heart, soul & mind. The only thing they can relate to will immediately be church attendance, prayer time, Bible reading etc... If love was the principle in a Christians' belief it would never go out of vogue.
The Bible is true "Love will grow cold".
The old covenant mentality gave us a form of religion but the new covenant gave us love.
Religion will pass away. That's what you are noticing. But love for a Savior will never ever pass away. If you don't want or desire that love, well that's biblical too, afterall the Lord says only a few will find Him.
What I have seen of millennial's is a rejection of God, it is a falling away there is a lot of confusion in the Church a lot of false teachers, theology that is heretical and plain Satanic in many Churches, I tell you this Christians in America who have been Judaized support anti-christs 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
1:10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
I agree with you that there is somewhat erroneous orthodoxy on human religious traditions, but biblical love is hated by those who hasn't received the Spirit.
For example... you know what Christ like understanding of marriage counseling would be like? It wouldn't ask for 'compromise', but ask the Christian to spill their life for the loved one's sake (ultimately, their salvation). The unconditional sacrificing love. You are to forgive even the worst of the cheaters if they make feintest apologies. Do you really think this 'flies' with the world at large that has roughly 50% divorce rates for much more trivial issues?
So the notion that Christ's love 'never going out of vogue' is not true. Christ's love was never popular and true followers will always be a minority.
@@gaizokubanou
Christ's love will never go out of vogue, sadly Christ's love is at a premium, hardly realised (by the "millions" of professing christians) thru true Salvation.
A true man of the Lord. God bless you!
When I was young I asked why no one had rewritten the bible to update the information with new discoveries but I was told that the bible would never change cuz it was the word of God. I believed science cuz it was the study of nature and God created nature and only he can change nature. However the bible was written, handled and translated by man. So I left the church and the bible cuz I trust God more than man.
thanx for having comments....
Ppl know when they are being bullshittedđ€·ââïžand lied too.
Right?
I wouldnt get involved in arguing over evolution v Creation. Its pointless. I wouldnt argue the concept of Creation, and I find most non believers rarely dispute that there must be a grand design behind Life and the Universe. Its not up to us to convince or convict anyone, the Lord will take care of that. Its a more messed up World than ever before, with some frightening prospects. So a lot of people will be looking for meaning, are we ready to help guide them?
I left the church, but not the Lord. I was raised in the church, and my mother was even a pastor, but she also lived a life of sin. There was abuse, negligence, and premarital sex. I also encountered other pastors who misused their platform, and the Bible tells us to beware deceivers who come in God's name. When Jesus encountered the priests living lavishly in the temple and condemned them, that was hardly an isolated incident. It still happens until this day. Still, I love the Lord. There is no question of that.
The way is narrow, few there be that find it. The great falling away must occur as it is written.
What is falling away is the churches. 95% of them are false. I was an atheist and God had to save me Himself. Where was the church??
Clinging to young earth causes people to leave the church.
Time pressure, overwhelming availability of choice of activities from Netflix to sports, a few generations ago people had nothing else to do on Sunday morning
Good for millennials. Donât believe in fake stuff.
I seriously doubt very many are leaving because of evolution. It is how they see people are treated.
Some millennials are not in church, but have a relationship with God. Can't find a church that is teaching God's truth, and what believers need to hear. We're serious about living our life for God and to live for Him to the fullest. We're trying to find a church home who's serious about raising up disciples to go out and reach the lost.
In which case, perhaps consider some of these options?
czcams.com/video/bwETeNDkfcc/video.html
@@Seraholethysie perhaps consider that we've considered the options? We're not heretics y'know, and should not be treated as such. (illbehonest labels us as such, even if you don't)
@@Fakeslimshady I canât know your histories; that was a mere suggestion. Nonetheless, one of the options in the video I linked is âstart your own churchâ â and thatâs not too hard, relatively speaking; start with your own home fellowship and see from there.
(In any case, what do you believe that would cause you to be labelled as heretics?)
@@Seraholethysie that's pretty much what I do with some friends. People think that you have to go to a building to say you're going to church. The body of Christ is the church, we should come together to assemble together and to grow. We should be going out to reach out to the loss preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. We don't need to invite them to the assembly, but going out to them to tell them about Jesus. So as a millennial, that's my heart desire is to live my life for God to the fullest, to help others and reach loss souls.
@@marquitawashington2612 All the best then! I know of some who do the same and theyâre the most solid assembly in my opinion.
I was a believer and regular church attender until God open my eyes and ears to the biblical truth. Then I realise even though I have been in church all my life, I was still lost. My church is a partaker of all these pagan celebrations: Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day etc. Since my eyes were opened, I am no longer a partaker of any of these program. Evangelism from my church not truly focussing on on the truth and but bringing people to church to increase numbers. I see my church now being heavily influenced by the world: Dressing, dancing, more like a show of putting on the best dress, and make up been on flick. Gossiping even as church service going on. And the majority of the leaders are the leaders of gossiping. Competition among leaders. Pastor's say and decision is the final almost all times. Pastor scared to preach hard truth. Hardly any teaching of Jesus or about the end time and how people should prepare for the soon coming of our Lord and the events that foretold in scriptures. GREED!!!!!!!!! Food donations comes in to give to people in community who are in need, but I see church members including pastors wife accepting to take the really good stuff from these donations for themselves and the rest to the community. Yes they all have jobs and earning some sort of income. So they keep their money for food shopping, and come to collect food donations meant for really struggling community members. Church buying and selling and renting houses like real estate. I shared my revelation from the Lord through dream with my pastor, church, and women's group but I was deleted from the group because "pastor said no one should share anything about bible, God, Jesus on the women's whatsapp page and that it was only for communication"đąđąđą. Since I had an encounter, my life changed. I have learned so much from the bible away from church than in my life I've spent in church. I attend once in a while, and each time, I go home feeling completely empty than the way I left for church before. Now these are my issues.

I left religion because it's just silly. All these people think the reason America is suffering so much is because we're leaving God. Really?? Explain that to the millions upon millions of Africans and South Americans who have never left God and have never not known what it means to be surrounded by the worst suffering imaginable.
Gangs are a darkened version of what the church aught to be like. They love fellowship with each other, they teach each other their creed, they protect one another like a family. We are all wired that way. Ofcourse sin distorts that.
Because Christianity is a fable. As people grow up and grow older they search for truth, and it's not found in the bible.
Because people don't believe in fairy tales....
The only truth in that statement is that many professing Christians sadly do treat the Lord Jesus Christ in such a light way that it comes across to their children as nothing but a fairy tale. So yes, the hypocritical lives of professing believers do great damage to drive away millennials from the truth. Parents who profess one thing and do another are no help in winning their lost children to Christ. Many of the so called "churches" that focus on money, spiritual gifts, and not on Christ, are not helping convince the world of the glories of Christ. With that said, Jony Depp, Christ is Lord and He calls you to surrender to His will, He will save you from the penalty and power of your sin and He will do so freely through His sacrificial death on the Cross.
I'll be honest; the more I read the bible, the more convinced I became that it was time to leave the church.
Well the Bible should indeed make someone leave a false church, which there are many of. But it should not cause someone to abandon the church. Rather it should cause someone to love Christs Church.

Same!!!
- Church attendance among different generations is declining: 56% of Papa's generation attend church, while only 18% of millennials do.
- A significant reason for millennials leaving the church is the conflict between scientific teaching, particularly evolution, and biblical accounts.
- Among millennials who grew up in the church, 61% leave by college age, with the main reason being their exposure to the theory of evolution.
- Many millennials struggle with the idea of reconciling the Bible's account of creation (seven days) with the scientific view of billions of years.
- The age of the earth is a major point of doubt for millennials, both those who have left the church and those who remain, leading to challenges to their Christian faith.
The question I have is how long were Adam and Eve here in a perfect world walking with God before satan lead them astray? There is not answer to that because the Bible begins with the fall of Adam and Eve after the creation. The Bible is about the redemption story which begins in Gen.3. We have no idea how long Adam and Eve were in the garden with God before this all happened. I don't think there is honestly any one who knows how old the the earth is really. Sin brought the defilement of the earth but before that all was perfect and with no idea how long it was perfect.
In Chapter 1 God created the heaven and the earth, he created it whole and Satan rebelled and was thrown to the Earth, then the world was without form and void so Satan was here before Adam and Eve were created.

We are in the last days. Christ and His disciples said it 2,000 years ago and itâs true today as it was back then only now we are minutes or maybe even seconds away. If you think of the time from Adam to now itâs about 6,000 years which 1 day with God is like a 1,000 to man, now look at the 6 days (6,000 years) like you do with the 6 days of creation, a week. Christ came on the 4th day or the 4,000 year mark, that would be Thursday. Now if this were a week and Christ came on a Thursday then yes you are in the last days because you only have Friday and Saturday left and then the 7th which is the day of rest or the millennium.
Many things and I believe almost all things repeat themselves or are examples of the future, foreshadowing. The creation week is just that for the actual span of this age.
The Bible never lies we just donât completely understand it sometimes because we are created beings trying understand a limitless God. Itâs like a dog trying understand things of a human, they see you paying bills and going in and out of the house but have no real idea of the importance of what youâre doing. Only Gods understanding is infinitely higher than ours.

We are talking past each other on that issue but I can see a strong case for all of them, and why not. The Bible has repeating patterns and why canât Revelations be understood for all ages in their own time. We have to stop thinking like 3D characters and understand The Lord lives in all dimensions.

In order to know what came from God and what didn't, you need.. not to say must have Devine Discernment/wisdom.
Are you saying that the New Testament isn't God's word?
Because the Vatican didn't exist when the New Testament was penned by the apostles of Christ. That there is a new Covenant is testified in the Old Testament,
Jeremiah 31:31-34
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
The outpouring of the Holy Spirit (new birth), forgiveness of sins, personal relationship with God; it's all there. With a new Covenant, a new Testament; sealed with the blood of Christ.
Hebrews 9:13-20
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
@@ryanalving3785 Ryan what I meant is that there were so many changes till this very day done to the so called "old" and "new" that the only way to know what is the true Word is by divine discernment.
Funny, you quote the one verse in Scripture that trashes down your concept of "New Covenant"!
Jeremiah 31:33 = "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; AFTER THOSE DAYS, saith the Lord, I will put MY LAW IN THEIR INWARD PARTS, AND WRITE IT ON THEIR HEARTS; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."
Did you noticed that the covenant ITSELF DOES NOT CHANGE? The ONLY thing that will change and is changing IS HOW IT WILL BE MANIFESTED.
The Law didn't and will not change!
No more paper law that can be changed and transformed in whatever.
Is Israel Judah back together? not yet.
The whole meaning of the gentiles by seeking a "new" covenant is to dismiss Israel and Scripture!
The shedding of the blood was for the sole purpose (a huge one) of atonement of sin, once and for all.

Do you not see that by picking and choosing what parts of scripture you accept and what parts you don't, you are following *neither* covenant?
I've seen Christians who threw out the entire old testament based on "discernment," people who would take whole books and remove them, and people who would call man made any verse they personally disagreed with; but this is what God said:
2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Peter 1:20-21
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
@@ryanalving3785you are blind to see the changes then.
I never said that the Word of God is not there!

John 9:41
Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
At my convertion, I instantly stopped believing in evolution and believed in God's Word instead. It was simultaneous, I was convicted of my sin and the belief in evolution fled, I had no need for it as Christ took over my life.
Because they were never born again. This generation has grown up in seeker sensitive prosperity churches with weak man centered motivational speeches. That kind of apostasy will produce false converts. People that were never saved and walk away.
Brother Tim.. Creation took 6 DAYS. Please read the first chapter of the book of Genesis.
gingipw I believe he was saying that.
@@MaranathaCry The reason for my comment is that he mentioned 7 days and that is a very common misconception.
God resting on the 7th day was part of creation. It wasn't finished until he rested so it did in fact take 7 days.
@@nasawalker7594 Resting for you means working? really?
Genesis 2:2 says clearly that everything was finished until the evening of the Seventh day.
The 7th day was gods rest. He mentions his rest as part of his creation.
There is no real church anymore. God is asked to take second seat to doctrines and activities. No truth of his word- so why should they stay?
Churches became Apostates (2Thess. 2:1-3) connecting with Catholic Church ... so you must read this =
Revelation 18:3-7, Matthew 5:29-30, 1Corinthians 5:13,
2Corinthians 6:17 âCome out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.â

I read the New Testament from the prototype, is my language.
The KJV have some mistakes and they correct them with the NKJV and NASB

Not dogmatic though obviously.
This is why the âflat earth movementâ has brought so many to Christ. People just want the truth.

@@dozer1323 If evolution theory was true life would have started from a rock. By itself. Everything there is needs a designer theres no way it came by itself. When you turn to Jesus you can find truth and be certain that God exists. He filled me with his spirit and constantly proves he is real. He answers prayers and is personal. He even spoke to me once by his Grace. Seek him humbly and you will find him. Bless you!
@Janppa Your lack of scientific of knowledge is not a valid answer.
@@Janppa Abiogenesis and evolution are not the same. Moreover, no hypothesis of abiogenesis teaches life came from a rock.
The reason people are not going to church maybe because they realize the fact that it's illogical to think that a God can die
I left the church and Jesus, but I never left God.
My question to you would be this, what god is it that you believe in? If you've abandoned Jesus who Titus 2:13 says is our great God and savior. -- What are you hoping in for your sins to be paid for?
Jesus is God tho. Read John 1:18
Sadly, 17% of those millennials probably going to hip-hop church.
Young people leave the FAITH because theyâd rather serve sin that is a short season of it they donât understand how doomed they are for an eternity.
Lacking Bible reading is enough to put the nail in the coffin, new age doctrine is rampant so is subjective truth and post modernism. Thankfully Christ is on the Throne forever and ever, pray for this generation so deceived by the evil one like I formerly was. Thinking Iâm headed to heaven but my fruits told me otherwise oh how thereâs a way that sounds right to man but leads to death.
Richard Dawkins might be using a debate tactic to drive his opponents into a corner. Either allow for theistic evolution and appear a liar or agree to 7 day creationism and appear a lunatic.
The sad part about this all is that evolution itself is not scientific. We have not observed history long enough to observe evolution. No observation, no science. Period.
The reality is that this is all a story: Who can tell a compelling narrative that captivates the minds of people? Who's story best fits the evidence?
I would like to develop a movie about the flood. How the animals traveled up land as the flood waters rose. How they grouped together on the last islands of land left, only to be buried moments later (and then fossilized). Something to depict a different narrative to explain the evidence.
Evolution is very scientific. We have observed it both directly and indirectly more times than can be counted. The flood myth does not explain the evidence because floods mix debris up randomly. If the fossils of the world were laid down by a global flood, we should find elephant fossils alongside sauropods and ammonites with humans. We see none of this.
