    Honestly, aside from Russ going down to injury, Fields' best chance of getting a starting role again might be with the Steelers -- just not this year.
    The Wilson signing is a bridge deal only made possible by the Broncos paying most of his contract and unless he revives his career in a major way I don't think they resign him next offseason when they have to pay the full bill. They don't have any other QB prospects and unless the wheels finally fall off this year (admittedly I think that's likely, but it's not a guarantee) I don't think they're going to be able to draft high enough to pick up their next franchise QB that way. Sure, they could trade for one, but there's loads of QB hungry teams right now and I'm not sure they're going to have the trade capital to compete on that front.
    I think there's a very real possibility that Fields is their starter in 2025.

    I'm sorry to see Fields go. It's sad because, as mentioned, he wasn't developed and that is a shame because I think he had the potential to make a great impact for the Bears. I wish JF1 all the best in Pittsburgh.
    Tom is right, the Bears organization has had issues and I think a change of ownership needs to happen. I like they finally named a President of Football Operations with Kevin Warren. I definitely like what Ryan Poles has done so far. Now we just have to see if the pieces Poles put in place are going to develop CW and other young talent.
    I want to see the Bears be actual rivals with Green Bay again. Trophies are named after Bears and Packers greats. It's time the Bears lived up to that!

      Why so you like Poles? He seems to be undermined by ownership.

  • @jrm78
    @jrm78 Před 4 měsíci

    The Bears simply couldn't trade down from the #1 pick again because if they did and Caleb Williams becomes the second coming of Patrick Mahomes elsewhere while Fields continues to struggle, they would get absolutely roasted by the media and Poles' long-term employment would be in jeopardy. They could justify trading down last season with all the holes they had even though CJ Stroud looks like an absolute beast, but not two years in a row. Plus, it would make Tom and Packers Nation super happy for the Bears to continue to struggle mightily at QB and as a Bears fan, I just can't have that anymore. And check Fields' spray chart on his passes: he couldn't hit the middle of the field either.

Williams has so much hype around him anything less than multiple Super Bowls and all time greatness he'll be underachieving and if he don't come out the gate hot and winning games and Chicago has a bad season the coaches and GM will be fired and they'll be starting over from scratch again and the new regime may not like Williams, cause let's face it he's got a massive ego, is full of himself, and is a ticking time bomb before something happens and drama gets started.

  • @evanhoward9164
    @evanhoward9164 Před 4 měsíci +2

    I don't understand the hate and disrespect Fields gets. He has played 3 seasons and improved every season. He's had multiple OC's and no weapons until last season and D.J Moore turned into a top receiver with him. Why is it all these other QB's can go through the same thing and when they don't turn out the way everyone thought it's "well he didn't get a chance to get better and he deserved better" but when it's Fields it's " he's trash and he sucks and he did have weapons" it's ridiculous! Also don't assume the Bears are taking Williams he is a ticking time bomb and a diva with a massive ego, he isn't someone you bank on as your franchise QB when one more bad season and the coach and GM are gone cause with as much hype around Williams anything less than all time greatness he'll underachieve. He's not going to be as good as everyone thinks either, he never played in a college football playoff game in what 6 seasons? The times he played against top ranked defenses he struggled and he has a bad habit of taking to many sacks. He ranks among the worst with sacks taken right with some of the biggest busts ever and it's not like Chicago has a good OL.
