  • Most trucks come with the suspension dump switch, however this is one of the few that did not come with the option. I am going to show you how to do this yourself and what you are going to need.
This will work for any Freightliner Cascadia 2009 through 2017, I believe the newer Cascadia is controlled with an electronic switch so this will not work.
You will need a dash switch to control the lower and auto , you will need a new height leveling valve, approximately 25 feet of 1/4 inch air line, an air line fitting with a 1/4 OD and I believe a 3/8 thread.
This is simple setup that can take you a few hours to do on a Saturday.

I don't recall ever seeing a tractor without a suspension dump valve in the thirty five years I've been driving, I'm surprised that it was factory omitted. What I really want is a override valve or control in the cab to over inflate the bags temporarily. Yeah I know that could be a disaster in the hands of a dummy. I'd even take a override control on the frame behind the cab.
On another note what I am seeing a lot of these days is no trolley control lever which pisses me off to no end and would be completely unacceptable on any tractor I owned.
Nice job you did there, pretty simple to other than having to make the cut in the panel but you did a good job of measuring and laying down the cut lines.

I have a 98 fld120 and this exactly what I need to do. The only switch I have is the axel lock.

@@Little.stJames192 pretty easy setup. It should be similar on most Freightliners. Open up the dash and look at the other switch. Should be air activated. Just follow the video and you should be good to go.

I may go this route , I got that extra expensive suspension adjustment with a dummy axle. One of the modules are leaking air . I can’t find a rebuild kit here in the USA. Only rebuild kits are in the Europe market. Replacement of each control module per axle is 500+.

I have that identical axel. The airbag sensor for the Ecas is a pain always leaking air. I'm ready to convert into a 6by4

Great video I did exactly same thing to my 2017 and I was done in two hours and everything work flawlessly I would appreciate it more if you give more information about the electrical connection I don’t know if the harness or plug is there or I don’t know what kind of connection we have to do so if you have that informationI would appreciate if you can share

Freightliner does sell a jumper harness, it should be a plug and play. Let me see if I can find a part number.

Notice you have the 1/4 inch black line from the valve to the switch, and the white jumper to the 5th wheel. Where did that yellow line to the switch came from?

      @CarlosDieselElectric  Před 4 měsíci +1

If I remember correctly, yellow comes from the cab air supply side on the Freightliner side. Let me double check

That I am not sure of, I believe you can but may require some programming on the cab side especially if it is electric.
However, if you wanted to go with a setup like the Freightliner, you should be able to but it may require more research on the height valve.

How about for a 2021 cascadia ? I want to install a dump valve in to mines … my cascadia only has the air slide lock . I want to also install a sliding 5th on mines , but would like to get the dump first

Since you are just using air, you should still be able to do something like this video. Just need to find an air supply (source) and then everything else should be the same.
The newer Cascadia use an electronic switch and I’m guessing a solenoid to activate the air. Kind of like Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks. But Freightliner may require some computer work on the chassis side for the signal.
