Galena Creek Snow Hike - February 2024

The goal was to make it to Church's Pond, but the snow was deeper than expected so it was slow going, plus I got a late start. In these conditions it's best to err on the side of caution. Still, it was a great hike and the weather was fantastic!

I recognized exactly where you were, every foot of the way as I've hiked this snow packed trail with my Kahtoola MicroSpikes several times. Yes, I turned around at the same scenic overlook rather than proceeding on up to Church's Pond.

I’m 99% sure my friend and I passed you and said hi on our way up! Local celebrity sighting 😎
Now I wished we had gone a little further to the great views at the junction! But were worried about gate closing at 5pm. Plan to do Church’s pond next month, snow willing.
