    Thanks for the great video. Very helpful and informative. I believe I have the same problem now with my 2015 Golf Sportwagen TDI. It's in the dealership now having the heater core hoses replaced.

      Ended up mine was a failed water pump. So I just finished replacing the timing belt and water pump yesterday. Now I have a p2456 code, which apparently quite a few people run into this after changing the water pump and timing belt for some reason. I'm still researching the case and solution.

      @@gregnak07 The differential pressure sensor was either plugged or had failed. I believe build up in the hose plugged the sensor after removing it and replacing it for the timing belt replacement.
      The dealership said they would fix it but needed time to get a loaner ready. I told them I had read of other people with the same problem had their sensors melt down. They didn't believe me and told me it was okay to drive until the appointment.
      On the way to work one day it went into limp mode. I limped it to the dealership and they replaced the melted sensor and wiring harness under the diesel gate warranty.

    Thank you sir. I'll be checking this because it seems to be where it's coming from. I could see and smell the coolant burning from the back side of the engine

    I feel like my problem matched youe description but i overfilled the resevoir accidentally and now it barely holds coolant, got some blue devil to see if it helps but not sure if thats the right call. Plus not sure where to put it as it directs me to put it directly into the radiator.

    If you were trying to diagnose, would it be possible to run the car without the heating on, and then run the car with the heater on to see if there is a difference in leakage? or is the leak only dependent on engine RPM?

    Hi I'm commenting on a video that you made on a exhaust particulate filter on the TDI, you did not leave room for comments just wondering did that work and did it take away the p2002 code I know it's not related to this video but you didn't allow questions and I just need to know because I have a similar code thank you for going through the trouble to showing us how to do this really appreciate it

    Think mine is leaking from the same position. Been in the garage 3 times now but they can’t find the leak. Lost heating in the cabin also. So today I flushed out the heater core and lots of crude came out.
    If my coolant drops again I will investigate, to see if mine is doing the same as yours.

      They should be able to put in the radiator an inferred dye, let it run for about 15 minutes after it has come up to temp and coolant is flowing. Then using an inferred flashlight in low light they should be able to detect exactly where the leak is.

      @@shockinshay probably burning coolant so open the oil cap and see if you find any milky residue. If you do it means theres coolant mixing with your oil 😬. If the smoke if slightly blue then its probably burning oil. In the winter though you can get white smoke from water vapour as a result of combustion just like your breath is a bit white. Lots of white smoke is bad

    This failure is likely caused by a plugged heater core. It is a common problem on the Passat TDI and should be covered under VW TDI extended emissions warranty.

      I'm sorry I can't remember the name of that hose but if you remove it and bring it to AutoZone or any auto parts place they can match it up you might have to cut the one that they give you to make it work

    Hello, I have a Passat TDI 2014. What type of Coolant do you put in yours?

    • @idennis75

      Pink peak vw 2012-2018

    • @thecrittergitter7576
      @thecrittergitter7576 Před 23 dny

      Peak brands has it listed on bottle. I have a 2012 and there are 2 types that I have seen there's a pink capped bottle and Purple capped bottle. The PINK is up to 2007- 2011 and the Purple Capped bottle is 2012 -2016. Pay attention. Read the bottle label. It's on the front of the bottle. I know this because I have a 2007 2.5 rabbit and it takes the PINK cap. I also have a 2012 TDI and it takes the PURPLE capped bottle.

    • @idennis75
      @idennis75  Před 2 lety

      I don't recommend driving it unless you keep a very close eye on the coolant level because if the coolant gets too low it will blow the head gaskets and then Warp the head which can come up to several thousand dollars just for the parts
