One other problem that I faced, is that I was unable to delete the drive D, since it contained system files. For that, I opened advanced system settings --> Advance Tab --> setting in performance section --> advance tab --> change in section "virtual memory" --> check off "automatically manage paging file size for all drives" --> turned on "no paging file" --> set and close of windows --> restart your system --> then I followed your video. It worked perfactly. I suggest, please add this procedure as well to solve another unsolved mystery. thanks.

Thank you. I had cloned a 1tb drive to a 8tb drive and it created a 1tb partition so i wasn't sure if extending would delete the files. For anyone in my situation it does not delete the files. Follow the video and press extend and "Next" until it finishes extending and it will add the remaining storage to the partition.

This is one of those why didn't I think of that moments. I'm retired now, but I have spent decades working with Microsoft Systems and Networks, including repairing broken Windows Operating Systems, and come across this scenario where you cannot expand a Disk without arranging for an unallocated Partition next to it.
I have tended to use PartEd which has always worked flawlessly. Now I am retired and find this. Hey ho...

This tutorial do not help when the data on the drive D is large that you can not transfer all your data onto the newly shrank Drive E. So how do you go around that?

So I did this and the first time it worked but tried to do it again because I wanted to add more storage to disk C but the second time now the drive D and F are logical drives now and won’t let me extend drive C. Can you please help me out

This video is very detailed and walks you through the procedure at a nice pace. I do have one question though. During the procedure to Shrink D: we are shown how to enter the amount of space to shrink volume D. The amount entered is 100,000 mb. After shrinking, there is an unallocated space of 97.66 GB. I am assuming this space was defined by the 100,000 mb entered earlier. This 97.66 space then becomes volume E: into which you move all your data from Vol D:. After volume D: is erased, the remaining space in vol D: is then allocated to vol C:. The question is regarding the audio portion of the presentation. The audio portion says the 100,000 mb that is entered in the Shrink D: will be allocated to vol C:. Is the audio portion in error or am I misunderstanding something? Thank you.

Hi, had the same problem. You got to open cmd with admin, tap diskpart then tap select disk 0 witch is your c drive, then select the number of partition that is the recovery partition. You can see the number on the end, so tap select partition (5) in my case, then tap delete partition (5), then your good to go and extend your c drive sence there is no obstacle.
