This is the exhaust system I’m going to use on my 01 convertible 😊 sounds phenomenal ❤
I love my BB exhaust. Sounds awesome!
Same! Perfect balance of a louder exhaust note without being annoying or droning on the freeway. It totally "wakes up" the car!
Well that jack is really cool
Yea it has been a huge game changer when it comes to working on the car in the garage! The idea of having to put the car on jack stands now sounds very cumbersome!
Well done. I have Corsa Sport which are amazing too. Next stop, long tube headers and the X-pipe bud and you're there 😁🇬🇧
Thanks Graham! I've heard the Corsas are great too for these cars. I'd love to do long tubes, but being in California, I won't be able to because long tubes delete the catalytic converters :/
I see you like listening as much to the stock exhaust. It only gets better from here with BB
Haha oh trust me, I love the BB exhaust much much more ;)
Gotta love it. Some people's priorities are different. Sound matters more than performance. That putrid little sway bar gets to live another day.
Yea it’s a great early mod to just liven up the car a little! Aftermarket sway bars are coming after coilovers ;)
Great vid. BB exhaust is the only system to put on C5... wish I could afford it on my 2001 millennium yellow convertible...😢
Thanks Steven! This exhaust is one of the best mods I've done to the car to date! Totally livens up the feel and sound (obviously haha) of the car. Check them out around black friday, they usually have some good deals or I've even seen some used kits for sale from time to time on eBay.
Hello, Loved yourvideo. Can you tell me what air jack you were using? I have to get a pair of those !!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! They are called Quickjacks, got them from Costco. Go to Quickjacks' website and do a measurement based on your car's wheelbase and tire dimensions to see what one would work for your car. These have been an absolute game changer for working on my car in the garage. They have some Labor Day sales going on now.

GREAT video, ok so have a customer that wants this exhaust installed... how long should I figure?
Thanks Beth! What do you mean by how long should you figure? Like how long the install should take?
Just curious to see if you contacted BB on how to fix the sagging first
I did. They didn't give me a specific torque spec for the bolts, but they did say to just tighten them as hard as you can. What ultimately helped was getting the clamps in just the right position with the split pieces so they actually compress when you tighten the bolts.
Hi where did you get your back spoiler on the coveted.
Thank you
It came on the car when I bought it. But looks like you can get it through Zip Corvette www.zip-corvette.com/97-04-aci-coupe-street-wing.html
My exhaust and it's a head turner.... I got a little play on the passenger side and am working thru it now
Yea it's a great exhaust, just takes some fine tuning on getting the clamps situated to get the tips level.
the muffler manufacturer should design a bracket that doesn’t make the muffler sag like the OEM ones do. Nice job on that aluminum bracket !
I’m saving up for a 2003-2004 C5 manual coupe and I’ll be ready to buy this time next year. I like those quick jacks but obviously you don’t get high enough off the ground to remove those OEM mufflers without using the SAWZALL like you did.
Big question: when cruising at 65 or 70 mph how loud is that exhaust compared to the OEM? My concern is if it’s too loud it could be annoying on long rides. I won’t be getting the Z06 which has less insulation I’ll be getting a standard coupe but will eventually add insulation to the cargo area and the interior. I won’t be tracking it either
Stephan thanks for the comment! Yea I agree it would’ve been nice for a special bracket to be shipped with the system so I didn’t have to fabricate them myself. Yea the quickjacks are awesome but I probably needed about another foot of ground clearance to get them off. No biggie because I was going to scrap the stock exhaust system anyways. I’ll have to get back to you on how loud the car is cruising at freeway speeds with the exhaust. There’s a few more minor things I need to do (like rebuilding the gear system in the flip up headlights since they stripped) before I get the car back on the road. I’ll get back to you when I do hear how it sounds on the road. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@Addimotive watching your series now. That fire extinguisher going off was hysterical 😭. A High clutch engagement (higher than normal) means the clutch is worn.
In late 2011 i bought a used VW Passat wagon V6 manual. When I went for a test drive the clutch had such a high engagement it was nearly at the top of the range of movement. I negotiated down my price and drove back from Virginia to my ex girlfriend’s house where I was living in NJ. nearly 6 hour drive.
Got a new clutch installed shortly afterwards.
@@stephendibari5010 Good to know. The clutch feels great on this car. Mechanically the car is very solid. Just needs some body work on the front end mostly now.
@@Addimotive upfront cost of 5k was a steal. Obviously a lot of fixing up and repairs were needed, Even under $10k w all repairs etc is still a bargain. With pandemic raised prices an 01 w 55k miles w no
Issues is at least $20k today
I would’ve kept the OEM wheels, I like the 5 spoke style.
You convinced me to go BBE. Are you experiencing any drone at highway speeds? Also, my C5 makes the exact same high pitched whistling sounds on startup and light throttle. I think I have it narrowed down to the alternator bearing but I haven't done anything about it yet. Do you think it's the alternator? I notice the sound like like 80% of C5 videos.
I unfortunately haven’t gotten the car out much since getting the exhaust on (doing a lot of body work right now), but I’ll let you know as soon as I do. As far as the sound goes, it could be the alternator bearing. I’ll use my stethoscope next time I’m working on the car to see if it’s the alternator bearing.
If you notice that high whistle sound goes away in a few minutes it's an air induction system
@@rcragemoddingenjoyingrcveh417 oh yes, that’s a really good point didn’t even think of that 👍🏼
@@rcragemoddingenjoyingrcveh417 the only thing I thought that it might not be that is that he said it also happens during light throttle
Mine is on order
Nice! It’s been one of my favorite upgrades to date! Makes the car feel and sound a lot more aggressive.
You might want to check but I think there's an angry squirrel 🐿️ living in the exhaust! But other than that it sounds mint!!
Thanks! Haha my RAV4 was excited for the new exhaust too
I'd like to ask where did you get that wing and what brand is it
Hey Troy, the wing came with the car when I bought it. Not sure where it came from, but it looks very similar to this one: corvetteupgrade.com/product/c5-corvette-97-04-classic-low-profile-wing/
Hello! Where can I buy this? Can I get a direct link to what exactly I need to buy? Is it just the Axle back exhaust system?
Thanks in advance!
Hey! Yea I can shoot you a link, I bought mine direct from Billy Boat. Yes it's just an axle back, connects at the rear of the mid-pipe, but this exhaust totally changes the feel of the car. It basically "wakes" it up from being a tame stock car to something more aggressive. Perfect mix of louder exhaust notes, without being annoying or droning on the freeway.

If ur car is stock why does intake sound so good? What intake are u running? Kinda sounds like forced induction or turboed
I have a feeling that that sound is the alternator with a squeaky bearing. Mine makes the EXACT same noise and I narrowed it down to the alternator with a mechanic's stethoscope.
Do you have a copy of the install instructions?
Instructions originally sent in the box can be found on their website:

i have a question,
Can you drive this car on potholed roads?
Yes the car can withstand potholes, but up to a certain point. It is also highly dependent on your wheel and tire setup too. I would obviously try to avoid them if you can since the car is a street car and the less wear and tear from potholes, the better.
Where did you get that lift? How much was it an name brand
Got it from Costco.com for $1,500. It's a QuickJack lift (sister company to BendPak who makes a lot of the professional two post lifts).
@@Addimotive thanks
Please tell me about your spoiler!!

97-04 Corvette C5 Exhaust Muffler Bracket Insulator 10429800 Repair kit
Yea there definitely are replacements or repair kits out there. Would work great if I was keeping the stock exhaust on, but this Billy Boat kit had a slightly different mounting tab thickness, and with the stock mounting brackets, the exhaust sagged, so I needed to build my own.
@@Addimotive that’s what I used to level my Billy boat bullet exhaust , I have the same setup on my zo6 .
Huh, interesting! Good to know!@@joeanthonyreyna5357
@@Addimotive I’m was a victim of the sagging exhaust tips lol just trying to help the vette community haha
@@joeanthonyreyna5357 yea I definitely had to battle with them sagging for a bit too. Once I built my own mounts, I had to make sure the clamps were in the right spot over the the joint section so they’d hold the position when I tightened them down.
