I own 2 ECT3000 and seldom use them my complaint is the signal is too weak great tool and the science behind it, is great... it is just weak... you have to be "on the wire" for it to beep. that is my opinion

Hello @fercast1395 - make sure you're locking the signal when you first start the process. You should be able to get 8" away from the wire under normal conditions.

      I don’t have this problem 🤔

I'm not saying the tracer doesn't work, but I've seen some good YT videos of pro mechanics showing how the tracer is not very accurate...especially in a large bundle of wires
PP your response to these allegations please?

The ECT3000 transmitter injects a traceable signal into your shorted or broken wire, the receiver will locate that signal. A shorted or broken wire usually is not easy to find, this tool is going to help you trace where that wire is, the ECT3000 should be used with a schematic and knowledge of how the circuit works, many mechanics get in trouble when they short cut and do not use the schematic to properly diagnose the circuit. Technicians that specialize in electrical love the tool because they know how to use it, if you follow my suggestions you will find this tool is a great time saver especially when using it with the Power Probe 3, I hope this helps

@@PowerProbeUSA please don't take my comments as attacking in any way... But I'd like to see your company work with someone like Eric O. At South Main Auto on YT... That man knows how to diagnose and many people agree with him... He doesn't like your tracer tool, please show us what he is doing wrong?
You've already sold me a "hook tool"... But i need more "real world" videos before buying a tracer?

I have the tracer tool and it’s not been very helpful. Only thing I like is tracking wires in a big harness where things get lost. Other then that I use my meter 99% the time

@@John-rambo84, I know the short circuit signal is stronger then the open wire signal, it's not a problem with the tool, it's just the way it is.

@@shannonharris I've seen some of his videos and I agree, he has a lot of automobile knowledge, unfortunately, without knowing the exact situation and video you are referring to I cannot answer your questions, if you need help or have a specific question on any of our tools', we do offer lifetime technical support, great chatting with you and thank you for that input, very helpful.

Too bad none of the Pp have a loaded circuit..
Also the open/short finder indicator is too big. Sometimes a open still shows arrows like a short would.. Yet it is very inconsistent and often wrong. Not worth $300+
