  • This is an old rare sailboat that's a real joy to sail. In the video I do a quick walk around and show you how to raise and lower the mast.
A few links and spec about the boat are below.

    Hi Victor,
A short but useful video! Thanks! 😊
Have my own Oceanix TS in the front garden, rebuilding it with modern solutions and much more. My hull have build number 195, can see your hull are just a bit older. It’s a great sailboat!
Sailboatdata is not correct, it mix up the TX and the TS version. The TX is made in another shipyard and later on. (From 1978-?) I have read french forums, to learn more about this rare sailboat. By the way, you own version 2 of the TS 😉 The TS were produced in 3 versions before the shipyard, La Prairie, closed in 1975.
I’m trying to make a updated information bank - just for the fun of it 😉
    Kind regards from Denmark,
    Christian

Just gotten a 1974 Windrose with original sails , was also going to keep them in the boat over winter. Will now back them up with me and put them in the closet.

You should try to use your jib halyard as a temporary forstay during the mast raising . Secure the end to the bow pulpit, and as you raise the mast you can pull the jib halyard. Once the mast is up, cleat off the halyard at the base of the mast. Then you can secure the forstay to the chainplate. As long as the halyard is secured to the pulpit and the cleat the mast won't fall. Using the jib halyard to lower the mast also gives you some control during the lowering process. I used this method for my old MacGregor 22 and 26, as well as my current Precision 18.

    Hi Victor !
    Very interesting video.
I would like to buy this type of boat.
I would like to use it 80% without sailing.
How to fix outboard motor ?
Is it dificult for use it ?
    Regards !
    Vlado

The motor sits inside the hole in the cockpit which makes it difficult to steer. If I try to motor without the rudder the boat will do erratic sharp turns since the prop is so close to center. I only used the motor when the wind died because the exhaust would funnel back up into the cockpit. I'd suggest 5% under power and 95% under sail with this setup.
