When I was a child, my Dad had this idea that if we had small amounts of alcohol, that we would never have any issues relating to it. He used to sometimes give us a very small glass of wine with our Sunday dinner. We were also allowed a small drink at family gatherings. I only ever saw my Dad drink alcohol twice, and he only had a sip of each one. When I became an adult, alcohol never held any fascination for me, as it was not new to me. One of my brother's is teetotal, the other rarely drinks, and I drink about 10 units a year. I know that here in Europe, it is normal in some countries for children to have small amounts of alcohol with a meal.
