This is why some railways ban photography. These people ruin it for us. What hurts even more, railways such as Network Rail put out warnings, and then indicate it especially for us. It hurts 💔

I am a police officer for a railroad company that operates underground trains, and usually we never deal with stuff like this, but I do have one story of when we were assigned to catch some wanted guy for pulling emergency brakes on trains. In the morning at around 07:45 AM on a Wednesday, I caught the dude, I detained him, and started questioning him. He was later upset and crying after I told him “Your under arrest for mischief. Do you know what mischief is?”
Later the dude was sentenced to serve 2 years and 6 months in jail. He was also fined $500 for unjustifiable use of the emergency brake.

We as normal rail fans need to watch out for these kinds of numbskulls who have no basic understanding of morals or lack there of respect. Also on a side note to other idiots… stay the *flip* out of the right-of-way!

Real railfans know better than to stand in front of a moving train, much less walk on the tracks or even ballast. The crew must have nearly had a heart attack. This person is not a railfan, but an insane sicko.
Tired of people calling anybody near that tracks railfans, they do this crap on purpose to make railfans look like social outcasts for not engaging in such dangerous social acts such as people getting so drunk and fried they forget their own names.

There needs to be laws that say railroad companies can't be sued if a person is badly injured or killed as a result of actions that they chose to do.
I'm sick and tired of railroad companies having to pay money for things that is not even their fault, something they can't control and something a person chose to do that landed in his or her misery.

The act of this person was extremely dangerous like most of us would know. Only a foot caught in a piece of the track could easily cause a bad injury or even death. Lesson of the day: “Don’t f*ck with trains”.

Normally I’d agree, but when it comes to walking or running in front of trains, women seem to do it just as much as men, at least from the vids I’ve watched. Train incidents are a danger most people don’t take very seriously.

This is not railfanning. This is standing in an unnecessarily dangerous location and filming a train. I'll be the lowest bar for gatekeeping, but Rail Fans should at the bare minimum have a respect for the trains and for the railroads property. Don't stand on the tracks, don't trespass, move if/when asked (legally).
Now the driver has to explain why his train had to go into Emergency. There’s consequences for the driver as well not to mention frayed nerves because of stupidity.

You must always stand just at least 10 feet away from the tracks or more, stay out of the right-of-way, or if you’re a newb or idiot, don’t even get close until you educate yourself on how close you can get without putting yourself in danger and getting yourself on railroad property, like inside the right-of-way.
