    Do you have a video for thermocouple plug-in module for micro 850?

      No but the set up would be similar

    High Tim, I am an South Africa starting to learn PLC programming so that I can use it for my work. We have a few Allen-Bradley Micro800 series PLC which use Connected Component Workbench. This comment is not relevant to this particular video, but watch a lot of your videos and have not come to solution for the current problem I am facing. I want to build a "stopwatch" of sorts either using ladder logic or structured text, but cannot manage. The PLC I am using does not have RTC so I am trying to use TON or RTO timers with variables to time the events, but the timer variable resets before I can save the elapsed time to the next variable.
    The application is as follows: I have a water meter that will give out a pulse each time a certain amount of water passed through (10L if I am not mistaken). I want to know how much time elapsed between each pulse for further calculations and data capturing. So, the Pulse must come in and start the timer, next pulse come in, save time to variable, reset timer, and repeat.
    I was hoping this might be a good video for you to make, and teach me if possible?
    Best regards from South Africa
    Martyn

      I'm pretty sure I cover that in this live stream but it would be worth covering again.

      @@TimWilborne Thanks you. I did watch that video, and I will be honest a lot from that video still goes over my head in a way, but I am not sure if that is exactly like a stopwatch type of feature. I am very new to ladder logic, but I enjoy learning more each time I get a chance. Hope to see that video soon. All the best.

    Tim,
    How are you using the same tag for all of the FB’s wouldn’t they just keep going back to the first raw real that’s weird to me I don’t quite understand you may have a video on it but idk

    • @TimWilborne
      @TimWilborne  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Great question! Notice the first and last tags are unique. If you think about it step by step as the PLC scans, nothing can overwrite the values out of order. Think of them as a scratch piece of paper.

    I’m trying to figure out the 2080-TC2 module. I have the module and 2 type K thermocouples. Could you please do a Video on this? Please, Thanks, Doug

      @TimWilborne  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I don't have one of those but it should be similar besides figuring out the scaling.

      I did follow you building the RTD program and it worked the same way
      I might have the TC’s wired wrong. If I dip one in ice water and the other in hot water, they read the same. 🤷‍♂️
      I’ll go back and visit this when I get a chance.
      Thanks for all the videos you put out. Enjoy watching

      Check the type of thermocouple and yes, the wires swapped will make a difference since it is a millivolt signal.

      Contact Rockwell support, they will be able to recover your activation

    Pretty sure there is a UDFB available from the PCDC that has all the conversion logic built in! And someone was telling me supposedly there was something built in for setting RTD’s straight to Celsius or Fahrenheit from the module. I haven’t seen that yet so maybe it’s in a new CCW revision?

      I didn't see that but it would be nice.
