    I'm currently pregnant, and conceived with a copper IUD (Paragard). It wasn't ectopic, my partner and I are happy & chose to keep, though I'm still a little sore at Paragard. But that being said, IUDs are still the most efficacious and, imo, easiest forms of BC. I get frustrated with all the fear mongering and disinfo I see around them, especially from ppl pushing more unreliable forms of BC.
    I'm not sure what I'll get on after I give birth, but I'll likely wind up with another IUD until we're done having kids and my husband can get a vaso.

      Ok condoms sounds then safer. Because we haven't gotten unplanned pregnant with it for years. If used correctly it can be safe.

      Was this within the first year of insertion? Did they say it was in the right spot? I’m getting a Paragard placed soon and don’t wanna get pregnant lol 😅

      I just found out I was pregnant yesterday and I have a copper IUD too. Did your pregnancy test come back immediately positive? My doctor said all my signs and symptoms match pregnancy but not to get too excited as it could be a false positive. I want it to be real so bad but I just wondered if you had the same experience.

    That number range seems sketchy. I know multiple women who conceived with an IUD. Also a couple folks who had to have the thing removed because it ended up either poking holes in their uterus, or simply caused pain.
    I'm so glad I finally got my permanent solution.

    I had skyla. The doctor said he saw more tubal ligation pregnancies than on skyla. After testing positive on the blood test with abnormal increments, and an empty uterus, didnt work out for us, being ectopic. Mtx and months of patience. That all being said, it was such a slim chance, i would still recommend iud’s!

    You gotta talk about if it was in the correct place and still got pregnant or if the IUD was not in the proper place.

    The way my doctor worded it, she made it seem like the chance of pregnancy was HIGH with copper iuds. Like "might as well not use protection at all, you're gonna be pregnant with a copper iud". 😮

    Could you talk about depression and the use of iuds?? I was 100% uneducated about it until i had HORRIBLE PPD, and i wish someone would have told me ahead of time that it could affect my mood that badly or that i would suffer with cystic acne for years... i now have my happiness and skin back! ❤ i want to get a tubal but now im afraid...

    I didn’t get pregnant (I did on the depo shot) But the IUD ended up in my abdomen. Went completely threw my uterus wall. Had to have it surgery to get it out And they tied my tube’s & did an ablation. Worst pain every.

    I got pregnant with the Copper T and they've delayed me getting it out because my tests were false negative. So I'm at risk for infection and miscarriage. 😡

      Most of those symptoms are tied to old-school oral hormonal BC, as well as methods like the depo shot or patch where you get a big hefty dose of hormones. One type of IUD is totally non hormonal, so you will not experience any of those, and the other kinds deliver a very small, localized dose of hormones. So basically, if you're worried abt those things an IUD is a good way to go. But ofc, talk to your doctor. Also, infertility is not a long term side effect of any non-permanent BC used in modern medicine, it seems like you may have been fed some misinfo. Hormonal BC may have some lingering effects for weeks after use stoppage, but that's normal and they disappear quickly. You should probably talk to an obgyn abt your fears.

    • @jenni8759
      @jenni8759 Před 9 měsíci

      It's not a fear. It's wanting OBGYNs to take responsibility for not being transparent about side effects. The culture of BC is obnoxious. They pretend IUDs, implants, and drugs are magical when in reality they can be dangerous. BC should be talked about more seriously. I have talked with my own doctor who gave me a myriad of reasons why hormonal BC is unsafe and unnecessary for me.@@handarule
