This is a 6 minute instructional video, which demonstrates how to drill out the John Deere extended wear seed boots, in preparation for the installation of the Needham Ag Seed Boot Bushings.
Using the 5/8" carbide tipped drill bit (offered by Needham Ag), 500-600RPM is recommended for acceptable drilling speeds and long bit life.
BE SURE the seed boot is firmly held within the drill press or milling machine, as ANY vibration between the carbide tipped drill bit and the boot will damage the drill bit tip. Do not use cutting oil or any other coolants, as heat is required to help soften the material for drilling.
