  • The parents of a severely brain damaged girl have thanked well wishers for their messages of support as the five-year-old settles into a specialist children's hospital in Italy.
The family of Tafida Raqeeb won a high court battle to take her abroad for more medical treatment.
Sky's Helen-Ann Smith is the only TV reporter travelling with them and she sent this report from Genoa.

I pray that Tafida Raqeeb will survive. I don't want here to die at all. But CHSTV made a Charity called "Save Tafida". I hope we make Donations to Tafida and her Family.

I like the Italian system. G-d forbid anything serious ever happens to my nieces and nephews or myself, I would worry that this country would so easily give up on them.

@Stephanie Charriere Doesn't mean her parents should have a chance to pursue other options that they believe will help their daughter.
