I really appreciate your restful style of riding and commenting. Cool to see a real grown-up talking bikes. Thank you!

I really wouldn't recommend filling the engine through the plugs as that often causes flooding. As long as the bowls are completely full the engine will almost immediately start sucking fuel.
If you want to add fuel to the engine get a spray bottle and spray into the airbox allowing for more controlled quantity and allowing the fuel to atomize.
The only reason to dump gas down the cylinder directly is with a 2-stroke that has been sitting for awhile in order to provide lubrication and prevent a blown engine.

Good on you mate. Back in the day one had to be a serious rider to use this as your everyday transport..or at least in the wet north of England. Give it some gas, they sing. Big respect to you, we like what you're doing.

I have the same bike 16,000 on it. Friend of mine did the carbs and replaced the throttle and clutch cable. Adjust the idle when engine is good and hot. Great bike for knocking around on the 2 lanes around here. Awesome pulling power. Mine is completely stock with the exception of a National Cycle small "Fly screen" in dark tint that I think adds a nice visual touch plus does help with the wind at speed. Hard to find these machines with the factory pipes! Happy to see one being saved and going to a good home.

When rebuilding carbs OEM parts are mandatory. The needle and seats in those aftermarket affordable kits most of the time leak. Genuine Mikuni and Keihn components are pricey but they work. I replaced the throttle shaft seals on my GS carbs. It's a pain to tear them down to do this but the original shaft seals were rock hard and the aluminum was corroded. My avatar is my engine - 16 valve 1100E.

Try a little smear of Vaseline in the carb holders. A little pressure with a rocking motion and they’ll pop right in. 👍

Love that you're giving this old Suzuki the attention it deserves. Thanks for these videos and I hope you make more!
EDIT: Myself, I ride a 1992 GSX1100G, whose engine is the progeny of that 1982 GS1100G you've showcased here. I took it on a 1,900 mile road trip recently and greatly appreciated the characteristics of the engine as well as Suzuki's cheap albeit robust designs. With some preventative maintenance, these engines last forever. Mine has 50,000 miles now and also needs a carb rebuild, some hoses (it is over 30 years old now, after all), and perhaps a rebuild of the clutch master cylinder--all expected and minor repairs.
