Whoever wrote the script has definitely read Hemmingway. The cinematographer has watched Wes Anderson. And the photographers have seen Joe Greer. And I'm absolutely here for all of it. So good!

What a magical little movie. Was expecting some cool skiing in the mountains but did not expect to get this gem!
This just came up on my feed and so I clicked. This was so much fun. You got to the essence of the outdoors--the journey is as much a part as the destination. Best ski film I have seen in a long time.
Wow beautifully done, the storytelling, the images, etc. It truly stands out from all the motivational ski movies that we are bombarded with these das. Bringing "Play" back into ski movies.
Nice...my old tired legs and wobbly back could feel the turns and a few of those landings...I am fortunate to have a place to share with some of the last nomads of winter. They camp inside and out. We ski and drink together under the dark blue nights, full of stars. Our phones have zero bars but we don't care. We just keep sliding...peace and love and wishes for blue skies and deep cold snow for twenty one.
Honestly this is still one of the greatest ski films ever made! I watch it every few months to get stoked for winter! Thanks guys! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
One hell of a journey! and the cinematography and narration are one of a kind, been watching it multiple times every winter for the last three years:) And it inspired me to make our own movie about our ski & sail journey in northern Norway!

@@bexo34 I was a bit harsh to be fair. Your reply got me thinking, thanks. I watched it again. I never downvoted it btw. From what I can determine, it is neither a ski flick, as you say, nor a documentary, but something between the two. For it to be purely fictional then Cody and Kellyn would not have, in reality, built up the truck. From what I can see, they did indeed buy and fix up a truck, no? Please correct me if I'm wrong -then I truly did 'miss it', as you say! Treading this line between reality and fiction is clearly what makes it such a success in most people's eyes but for a very small minority (me) makes it seem a little unsettling how they are essentially parodying themselves and their trip.
It is a shame the boys got all the big ski lines. Kellyn's shots are all super-tight, one-turn shots. Would have been good to see more of her skiing. And perhaps even to have a female narrator. But, no doubt, there is some insanely good camerawork and skiing and editing ...and storytelling. A massive effort.
@@bimfred You're over analyzing it, just enjoy it. This is not a social justice opp, I got the impression that Kellyn is viewed quite favorably by those involved with the movie. There is no injustice here.
Get off the computer and out on the snow and clear your mind, you'll be happier for it.

and she definitely got none of the lines/shots. That might be because she can't dub 10 or hike for 3 hours for one shot. I doubt there's a problem with sexism in the ski industry..
