Ride to Ski - Bikepacking and Skiing Adventure Through the Dolomites

- Bikepacking and skiing/snowboarding isn’t something that usually goes hand-in-hand but Henna Palosaari, Malva Björkman and Sami Sauri challenged this notion. "Ride to Ski" film documents their 9-day, 426-kilometer journey through the Dolomites, done solely by bike. Adventure full of sweat, laughter, camaraderie, skiing, snowboarding, ice and snow.

Amazing athletes aren't born; they are made. So many small adventures, athletic skills, and technical knowledge learned over a lifetime of successes and failures were needed to make this possible. You all should be so proud of this amazing accomplishment. You have inspired me to seek more adventure. I really loved the part about changing mindsets and embracing all types of snow to ride and choosing to find happiness in joy in that moment. It's so true. Cheers to you!

Fantastic experiences, even in front of the screen. You don't have to travel to the other side of the world to experience adventures.
And the best way to do that is with friends or people you meet on your adventure and who may become friends. Pushing boundaries a little more every day - it's hard work, but it's definitely worth it.

I love it and I can fully identify with Sami! I'm more riding than skiing so it's a lot of walking down and falling on skis for me as well! But it's always fun which is the reason I keep doing it! Thanks for the motivation and inspiration, you rock!

Super cooooool! Girl power hit the road and powder. I started to plan my mini bike&ski trip after seeing this. Awesome. In one shot I noticed a ski boot holder for the fork. Can you please share the brand or a link? Thanks a lot!
Thanks 🤟🏼🤟🏼 and that’s awesome! We used normal cargo cages from tailfin and attached the boots with strap on them 🙂
really cool trip, would love to know the rack setup for the skis on the bikes. would also love to know how you kept the bikes safe whilst you were touring - riding a scott w/ sram red $$$$!
We used alloy racks from Tailfin for the skis and strapped them with ski straps on the frame and the rack. We once locked them on the fence other times we left them at the camping or huts :)
I need to get myself some friends to ride something like this with! This looked amazing!

Thanks! We slept at mountain huts and guest houses along the way, camping would have added a lot more gear so we skipped it this time 😅

We used Suunto Vertical watches for navigation and planned the routes with Komoot :)

how (and/or where) do you keep your bikes safe and secure when you obviously leave them to tackle the mountains and skiing?
We locked them on the fence one time and the other times we were able to leave them to the camping or huts were we stayed while we went skiing :)
