    old timmers like my grand father who would still use old tractors like the john deere B I inherited, use build caddys out of wood to mount there sickle mowers to due to weight of the mowers on the old tractors when going up and down hills. my grand pas caddy was made out of wagon tires and hitch form old hay wagon, he mounted arms to the wagon axe and just extended the pto shaft out to the tractor.

      +Denny's Country Life. I've been trying to catch them mowing with it, but seems like when they are mowing I am too.

    Those are used a lot around here in Oklahoma. They are very handy. Thanks for all the videos.

    We run our disc mowers on KMC 4760 caddies. We love them! We have no need for a conditioner here in Alabama it gets so hot. They are best of both worlds, you get mobility of a vertical fold mower, and ease on tractor of a trail type mower. We can fold up ours and pull them down the highway with a pickup truck at 50mph they're smooth as a regular trailer on the highway.

      +TheRancher250. Those are all the things that my father in law likes about his, for me though I perfer using a conditioner since I'm doing horse hay and and some alfalfa hay and we live in a wet cooler climate.

    I came very close to buying a caddy but I did the same as you I bought a disc bine never looked back lol. Hated cutting corners with the 3point but it laid the hay down nice and dried quick

      +Shelly0356. Yeah I like my discbine, I wouldn't go back to a mower.

    heavy 3 point hitch implement hook ups are a pain. got to back up just right. it is always a treat when cousin is here to get that ground visual for me and direct the back up.

    • @DLHFarms

      +Soybean Farmer. Yeah a d these mowers are some of the worst to hook up. Thier heavy and can flop around and be difficult.

    I know this is an older video but had to check. As always great videos and content. Enjoy the hay works.
    Question do you have some more information on caddy? Really like build but not able to find "bulldog" brand. Is there a good way to contact you?

    Now thats an interesting idea. That log beam must be mighty heavy to counteract the weight of the mower hanging off the other side of the caddy. Nevertheless I bet it can get a bit exciting if you have to make a sharp left hand turn driving down hill - I guess the worst that can happen is the mower touches the ground when it pick up a wheel!

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  Před 7 lety

      +Dan Whiteford. You know I asked my father in law about that and he said he has never seen that wheel come of the ground. That surprised me and he mows steep ground just like me. I don't know how it does it cause I've had one pick up my TN95 before when on a steep hill.

    that thing is actually pretty neat the diskbines are nicer in my opinion but we do Bermuda so we dont have to worry about the rollers taking leafs off

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  Před 7 lety

      +Gafarmer7410. I like the discbine better also personally, but if I had kept my disc mower I definitely would have gotten one of these caddy's, they cost about 3500 to 4000.

    • @datbomb98
      @datbomb98 Před 7 lety +1

      thats not too bad for what it is and yeah diskbines seem to work better we have a mower since it can run much fast than with the diskbine but for drying and in my opinion a better cut the diskbine is the way to go

    Hi, I live in the western central side of Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley. I do custom hey work on the side and some on my small farm. That looks like a good solution for my bad back. I did some searching on the Internet but could not find the Bulldog brand anywhere. Do you know any dealers in Virginia? Thank you, and I really do enjoy your videos.

      @DLHFarms  Před 6 lety +1

      Bill I'm not sure where this one came from it belongs to my father in-law, search for disc mower caddy's online and see if you can find one that looks like this one even if it's not a bulldog.

      It's essentially a passive piece of equipment, even if you can't buy one outright they'd be easy enough to Fab one. Like he said just fill the left side up with concrete.

    I had a New Holland cutter like that it was a pain in the butt the hook and I know I can see where that would be a whole lot better

    We have two Kmc Caddies with 320 easy cut Krone disc mowers.......But because I am such a small you tube creator.... they most probably have not been seen as much as your presentation will be........I did a video last year with 3 in the field at once......
