Every one that I see mowing circles the field, We circle the outside about 6 mower widths and then star on one side of the field and mow from one end to the other..... in straight cuts..... All our tractors are GPS auto steer so the cuts are even and more precise...... also it allows you to bale in basically the same way it is mowed.... no dragging hay from across the cuts.... cleaner less field loss
Our first mower was a KUHN But the 2nd year we sold it a got Krone Easy-Cut 320 then added a 4755 KMC cart.... because it is easier to hook up and makes tractor swaps a breeze..... We now have 3 and a 3200 trail.... .. .... Most of our hay is used to fill supply trailer loads of rebaled small squares to contracted TSC stores in our area...... We round bale everything, haul, store and rebale as needed we also sell rounds...
They will put some hay on the ground fast. Saw one in operation a few years ago. Didn't seem to matter if the hay was matted or you went over the same area to get some that was missed, even in different directions.

We stopped raking or baling in circles but our new cutter works great in spirals.
