HI. Out there there are good guitar tutors there are very good guitar tutors and then there is Lauren Bateman. Wow all I can say is I have dabbled in and out of various on line guitar tutors and got lost pretty quickly as the seem to assume everyone is intermediate or better. However in my opinion Lauren Bateman is the best. The lady is so patient and easy to follow from beginner chords with two fingers to an easy progression into songs you would never dream of attempting. I wish that I could shake this lady by the hand and say thank you. I have picked up my guitar again and I am going forward all be it slowly into becoming I hope a better player. Thank you Lauren Bateman. Best Regards from Derek.
You're the best
Thanks Lauren for leaving this easy version of Sweet Home Alabama on the net all this time. I just found it today. I have been struggling with playing a guitar for years. But it's because of people like you why I haven't given up and am able to finally start to learn how to play a guitar. May God bless you and your family abudantly. I am really excited about life again.
You are so welcome!
Thank you Lauren! Just started playing a month ago... We're having a Valentines day neighbor party this Saturday. Looking forward to playing this tune for my friends. Thanks again, you make it so easy..
Susan, that's fantastic. I hope it went well!
Been practicing Sweet Home Alabama, Simple Man and Brown Eyed Girl for the past couple of weeks. Last night it all came together, chord changes, strumming and humming along. WOW! What an amazing feeling, I can't describe how good it made me feel! And it's all thanks to you Lauren, you're the best👌
Nice work!
Thank you over and over. I'm back remembering and enjoying what I dropped years ago. Your simplicity and direction is amazing.
You're welcome
Once again, Lauren has worked her magic, produced a simplified version AND explained so clearly how to play it. Wish I lived in the USA to have a 1:1 lesson from this wonderful tutor
Thanks John. I have a more intermediate version planned very soon.
I love how you teach a several different strumming patterns for us to choose from.
Gotta have options.
You are amazing!...thank you so much, you really have a special gift for teaching! I love how you break down a song and show several ways to play it.
Aww thanks!
Absolutely awesome lesson. As always. Thanks for giving people .....Hope. Your teaching style is superb. Your "chunking" of a song is extremely helpful to a beginner. Your lessons are detailed, without intimidation. I take notes,..... try stuff,......then re-visit those notes, again,... then again. ... Am one of those people who is always re-watching, and looping back over your vids. Much gratitude, for your positive, laid-back approach, which gives people Hope, ..that if they really noodle around...and are PATIENT with themselves, .... then they will have fun, experience some great music classics, and learn guitar. The time, effort and thought you put into each episode's planning is much appreciated.
You're so welcome!
Absolutely love it. I know this is going to take me forever, however I am going to keep practicing. Again, thank you!!!
It takes time. One day at a time. :)
Agree with all the other comments. Lauren style of simplifying the chords and put herself in our shoes is perfect for someone just starting to play.

Awesome! Yea, I can definitely take those one's down. I already have Wagon Wheel worked out. That's a pretty easy one. I'll make that my next song I record :)

I’m 54 and just happened to live in Alabama. 😂 Thank you for taking time to teach an easier way to play guitar. I’ve always wanted to learn More Than A Feeling by Boston. Could you do a video on that?
That's a great song. It's on my to do list.
Love it..
Thanks!
Thanks!
Welcome!
Hi ya lovely Lauren I enjoying a lot learning with ya.
Can you do a tutorial to learn how to play Evil Ways from C. Santana please
Santana is an amazing guitar player. Great suggestion.
Sweet Lauren Bateman I'm coming home to you, 😎✌️
Ha ha ha. Well thank you! :)
🎸💯👍 Superrrrrr 👍💯🎸
Thanks!
Nice. Much better than most tutorials I've found. (For a beginner anyways.) One thing I'm having trouble with is syncing the lyrics with the chords/strumming. Is there a simple way to get better at this?
Ahhh yes, that is tricky. This video might help: czcams.com/video/NilZXWd2GU0/video.htmlsi=d7ZHgMHUI2wMEvnn
Well the way I learn how to do it use a c / 7 c chord I guess you could do it both ways
You have a melodious and sweet voice as well to compliment your playing ability!
Thank you so much. That's very sweet of you.
I watch yr videos over & over & im still struggling to put a tune together following the chords😏
Focus first on getting the chords. Practice two chord at a time switching back and forth. Need to get the speed up first.
Me too, but I'm gonna keep practicing & trying hard. Some prev sessions are easier than others so stick at it!
I noticed you use your first 3 fingers to make your G cord. I got used to doing it using my little finger. I have a hard time going from C to G that way. Now i am going back to the first 3 finger way. My G sound cleaner that way.
You can do it both ways. I always tell students, whichever feel easier and more comfortable. Clarity of the notes also helps :)
KOOL WIL DO.
Rock on!
Thanks you Lauren but you could do the finger picking for me please
I am practicing now
I will put a more intermediate version on my list of to do's.
C Chord is driving me crazy and keep me from doing any simple versions of songs like this. No matter how much I practice a C chord each of my three fingers go down separately. I've been just trying to go from a G to C I cannot for the life of me get my 3 fingers in sync. Any suggestions?
Try checking out my video about the C Chord czcams.com/video/ivUIXA-5F6k/video.html
@@LaurenBateman I did, thanks so much that really helps. I've already started with the exercises as well!
How long does it take to catch ??
To catch what?
