What is amazing about this video is... Keith Urban actually took the time to do it! He is a MEGA COUNTRY (and other) talent... yet chose to sit down (for NO money) and teach how to play a popular lick on the guitar.... Shows what a Huge Personality Inside he is.
Not every day you get to have a guitar lesson with Keith Urban wow and then jam along with all the other legends. Bloody awesome tutorial vid thanks for posting this
I saw Keith Urban Live one of the best guitarists I've ever heard he throws an AWESOME concert I was skeptical of going but glad I did best show I have ever seen. Did not know he did tutorials I'll definitely be checking out more of them
I am blessed today in finding these online sessions & thank you for breaking it down so easily. I am 53 yrs old & learning along with my 8 yr old. We just love you Keith & all the guys that have worked to make it available to us all. Thank you again
This music sharing site is an absolute treasure , with a friendly style of teaching, easy learning tips, shortcuts to simplify it enough to make it fun and stick to it. Cannot thank you enough Keith . I'm excited to learn all 30 songs -a joy for life.
Hey Keith thank you so much for this website-I am one of the older guys that is learning guitar too-- I am 70 years old and I've been playing for about 10 years but mainly I played drums for 55 years and the guitar is simply an afterthought but thanks again for your classes-so far I've learned 2 songs!!
I'm loving the triple aides: in person, with the finger chart and the view of the finger placement on the actual guitar neck! Merci, Thanks from Canada Cheers
Fantastic Lesson! I truly appreciate your teaching at "Beginner's Speed" and your ever "Encouragement" for this elderly beginner (71yrs). Mike Freeman Kentucky USA
I am seventy-four years old. I began learning guitar at six years old, sixty-eight years ago and still learning!! I tell many that are learning to play that "you learn more by accident than you do on purpose." However, I have learned many things since I discovered your fabulous videos on CZcams a couple of days ago. I will tell other "learners" of my discovery. Thank you very much for sharing your abundant knowledge. For a superstar with super talent, you seem to be a down to earth guy that enjoys teaching others. Keep'em coming!
Learning chords is just developing a bit of muscle memory, kinda like learning to type - but easier.. getting used to transitions can be easier if you try, for instance with a C, plant your index finger on the 2nd string, and then just kinda slam your 2nd and 3rd fingers onto the 3rd and 4th strings. Transition to a D by planting your 3rd finger on the 2nd string and slamming 1st and 2nd fingers on 1st and 3rd strings -- etc -- it will help you make smoother transitions starting out, and you will quickly develop the muscle memory to make chords almost without thinking. Start with something easy. Like, "Knocking on Heavens Door" is just G - D - C. You can find lyrics with chord notations online. Just sing the song (out loud or in your head) and change chords according to the notations above specific words, while strumming in a rhythm reminiscent of the song. It takes a lot to be a Keith Urban or an Jimi Hendrix - but if you just want to strum the rhythm of a couple songs around a camp fire, there's no reason you couldn't be off an running with 2 or 3 songs in a day or two of practice - maybe 4-6 hours to learn how to strum a basic 3 chord song fluidly - if you want to play lead it'll be more difficult -- even easier learn a A and an Em - start with an A and you can strum out a reasonable rendition of "A Horse With No Name" with just those two basic chords - the simplest chords to make (and transition -- really!! easy)
I just stumbled across Keith teaching. He is very good. Love the way each song progresses. He breaks them down into sections and then includes play alongs. Thank you Keith!!
You are a very good teacher,I just started learning 2 months ago, started watching your videos a week ago,and feel like I took big steps forward!,thanks!
Thank you so much. The breakdown is done so well and makes it manageable(with a few pauses😊) Plenty to practice. I hadn't come across those modified versions before and surprisingly tricky to change how you normally play a chord
Hi Keith. I am an intermediate player. I have been in many bands as leed singer, rhythm guitar and Bass . I love what you are doing, it is straight forward and so easy for beginners to understand . You seem down to earth. Have a blessed day. Artie.
Corona virus -19 ... quarantined at home .... finally time to practice ... so shall I learn to play acoustic guitar. Grandmother 62 years old, gonna cross it off my bucket list. Just stumbled across Keith Urbans learning videos today after trying some others. Well ... not only is he one of my favorites, he is so darn nice to look at! Thank you Keith for coming down to this level, and thinking about and sharing your time with those with the playing desire. You are so patient, calm and explain things very well. I’m stick in’ and pick in’ with ya’ .... Grandma’s gonna get this! Thanks again!
Wonderful video lesson, great job done by Keith and group. Many, many thanks for You all.. I've found ready to use material for January '2023 - it will be a good start point into new year of training..
Thnx for this! I love it! My guitar skills are like my welding skills..... they suck but i'm having SO much fun learning that I don't care! And who knows .... maybe, I might even be getting there .... eventually
this is wicked ,didn't know a lot about keith , now mr urban to me! thought just some poser hitched to Hollywood Alister, BUT he knows his stuff and gonna look into him more, if he wasn't already a an international superstar , with it all goin on, he could make a few quid at theses lessons!! don't know adam but he tryin , god love him.
Keith, you are doing that sooooo great and soooo patient... thanks for this... I play guitar a long time, not that professional, it is more a passion. I like to listen to you, it is great aaaaand every day in my liife I can learn a lot

Love this lesson! The simplified version played at 11:33 is perfect for adding this song to your repertoire. It's a nice short tune with only three verses, and the finger-picking part is do-able, just keep practicing. At first, I slowed it down to 75%, makes it easier to catch the strumming rhtyhm.
This is really Cool! So fun playing along with you all🤩 Even felt real when Keith said, Good job. Because at that second, my hands recovering from being paralyzed, I did do a good job of playing a clear cord! This is wonderful exercise for my fingers... it's going to take me longer than 30 days;/
Hello. I play guitar for about 40 years I am 57. 5 years ago I have started playing the piano which is at the begining a far more "easy" instrument to play in comparison with the guitar . So I played a lot on the piano and guess what ? = I had a serious injuries at the thumb of each hand. It is called Quervain tendinite. I was obliged to stop totally. Now I am better even if there is a pain sometimes at the thumb of my left hand. I still play the guitar and I fear to start again piano. So take care if you go over your physical limits and psychological limits also. If you want to learn 30 songs in 30 days I say it is impossible or dangerous. Imagine I want to invite The Queen of England for a tea at my home.....she would probably accept on the spot.... "With pleasure Dear Philippe, and guess what ...? I was longing for this invitation for so long but I was to too afraid to ask you". Philippe De France.
Great job Keith! I think the method you came up with is very thorough and simple to follow. The last half is great! The solo with the guitar played by the singer is a step towards playing with friends around a camp fire . . . then, next you show us someone being in a band . . . then, you give us a chance to practice to play and sing lead within the backup of a real band! It's just a great way to lead us, your viewers, into the different venues or possibilities of playing that one could find themselves in. Like after an evening of playing softball . . . then partying out afterwards . . . soon it's time to bust out the old 6-string and play some sing-a-long songs. Just great stuff Keith, thx!
Thank you for putting these Keith Urban 30 songs in 30 days videos on here. I love to see Keith Urban play. And...to learn from Keith Urban is just awesome. Thank you for whoever uploaded these.
Hi Keith thank you for being Keith I have been trying so hard to get the pattern you just showed me I'm old as dirt who has a lot of broken fingers yrs gone bye I'm retired now and I've learned the chords easy and getting where I can change a little easier but I wanted to know what strings to key after I got the chords and you done that for me thanks again and keep on being the terrific person you are

I know some of the chords but I just don't know how to move my fingers fast enough but I see enough but I will practice and thank you for your video Love the way you teach🙂🙃😉

I am so impressed that a guy like a Keith Urban would be doing something so basic as this. Thank you for your spirit of generosity.
He did it to sell the package of CDs together with overpriced junk guitar.
that's right.
Try and play the whole song the way it’s played by Skynyrd and u will see it’s advanced solo and guitar licks by an amazing band
Awesome that a professional musician helps us learn from his view. THANK YOU KEITH!!!!
I PROMISE you this is SOOOO far from “basic”. Ed King was a mastermind. Check out Scott Raines on here. He’ll show you how it’s done
