The quality of it sometimes lessens but it never loses the heart of it - the beautiful bond between Dean and Sam. That alone makes spending 10 full days on it worth it to me

Actually the reason why I started Supernatural in 2023 is BECAUSE it had so many seasons. This way the characters become like family and the whole series becomes a dependable escape from the stress of life. Like you said, trying out new shows are exhausting, so I only pick the shows that have stood the test of time.

Watched all of it about two years ago. It's genuinely one of the best shows I've ever watched. Sure, it has a few bad seasons, but they're still bearable, and completely worth it to watch the rest of it.

season 1-5 is excellent television. The rest of the seasons have their ups and downs, some parts are entertaining enough, and some are a little hard to get through mainly because of frustrating character work IMO. so tbh I think to be able to finish all of it, you'd have to be a fan of the actors and/or super invested in the main characters, which I think most will be after 5 seasons, but prepare to be annoyed by later season's portrayal of your favourite characters.
See I watched the 3 seasons once and planned to come back then never did. Then about a year later I watched all of 1-5, loved it, went onto season 6 and decided to just leave it. Now about a year later I'm on season 4 and trying to watch the whole series start to finish

I binged it from February to October of 2021 and yes its absolutely worth it. Episodes like Changing Channels, Fanfiction, Scoobynatural, and more are just iconic and show how Supernatural did what other shows couldnt. I honestly didnt mind the later seasons, I thought they were great.

It's absolutely worth it. You'll be changed forever. It has some of the greatest characters and the most beautiful character bonds in all of television.
So is Walking Dead but i would described it as high highs low lows situation, you have amazing seasons and you have seasons that you can just fall asleep on
The only thing it really lacked... was more episodes. That shit was so GOOD!!
As someone who binged all 15 seasons in about a month and a half. Do all seasons have pros and cons? Yes. Are some worse then others? Yes. But they are all still worth watching. Even some of the worst seasons have some amazing episodes and with the huge amount of episodes you get really attached to the characters and it makes it so much better.

I am glad to see more people talking about Supernatural that aren't already in the Fandom. I started watching it when it first came out. And watched it religiously until right around season 7. And only really remember the first 4 and a handful of the later seasons.
Supernatural is SUCH a quality show. It def steeped off around the last season or 2 but for 12 seasons straight you had MOSTLY bangers!

I watched it through Covid and it really didn't need 15 seasons. But for months it was my routine to watch an episode or two a night to escape what was going on in the world, and when I finished it, I was sadden I wouldn't have my escape anymore. That is my only reason for enjoying the length because of how long it keep me away from the world burning down around me.
Yes and the whole thing is worth watching in my opinion. I know people crap on the later seasons and I will agree that the show dropped in quality after season 5, but I feel like I still *enjoyed* it as much as ever because of the cast. I’ve rewatched the show many times and it’s kinda become that comfort show for me. Whether the writing is good or bad, anytime Sam and Dean are on the screen it feels like home.

@@LuckySevens i feel like there’s a bit of bias against network shows these days. even Grey’s anatomy was really good for about 8 seasons. my favourite show of all time is Lost which is THE network show.
@@jamescarr1265 Yeah. Streaming has taken over and I’ll be honest, most of these newer streaming shows aren’t even good tv. They’re more like movies spliced into parts. Sure they look good, but the episodes aren’t satisfying on their own. Disney is the worst about this. Not to mention how many shows these days have so few episodes.
@@LuckySevens so true! this comment is exactly what i’ve been thinking for ages. i cant even tell episodes apart from each other because they’re made as parts and not individual stories that build to form a whole story. Succession luckily avoids this as do new shows like The last of us and Yellowjackets but Disney truly is an offender for this, although i thought WandaVision did a good job at being episodic and serialised tv for about half a season.
I love supernatural, some of the later seasons do have a bit of a decline in quality but it is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The bond between the brothers and everything else about it is amazing

Without even starting the video, YES, YES IT’S WORTH IT! I just got done binging it from season 1-15 and I also never missed an episode when it was on. I grew up with SPN as it aired when I was 17 & ended when I was in my 30s with a husband and kids lol. Idc how long it was on, I MISS THEM!!!!

It’s absolutely worth it, I don’t think any amount of seasons is to many as long as the characters keep you hooked, I loved the series because of Sam & dean, even during some story arcs that weren’t that great the brothers is what kept me invested in the show.
I have watched the entire show many, many times and I still watch several episodes every night. I would love to see new seasons. Supernatural is my comfort show.

I started on 2017 so i only had 10 seasons to really catch up with the show at the time on Netflix and I gotta say, overall the show is a mixed bag with some meh episodes and fun ones. I'm so glad you're trying to go on this different road! Your TWD vids already get me watching consistently, so I can't wait what you have in store!

Agree Supernatural is one of the biggest shows out there. No other shows gives me good vibes than Supernatural. This show is something special. Sad it ended. Wouldn’t mind a lot of seasons. Jensen became my favorite actor when I started watching show. So Stranger Things & Supernatural are those shows I really love

when my brother forced me to watch this show at first i wasn't heavily invested in it but i watched some more before i was going to quit and that was my best decision i watched more and more and i was hooked so much so that completed all 15 seasons in about 2 weeks and yes my sleep schedule was messed up mmm yeah good show
Its so worth it. I grew up watching this so im biased when i say this but this show has some of the best characters in television.
Its amazing that there exists a show thats as amazing as spn is and has 15 seasons, 20-23 episodes per seasons and an episode is atleast 45 minutes. 😍

My wife and I are about halfway through season three. I've watched the series before but have forgotten the minor story beats, and she's never seen it. Its been really great.
1-3 are really good and absolutely worth your time, but 4-5 are honestly some of the best seasons of television I've ever watched. They introduce some cool sci-fi elements (but with angels and demons and shit instead of laser guns)
So many iconic characters, winchesters, bobby, joey, charlie, garth, ghostfacers, castiel, crowley, chuck, rowena, lucifer to name a few😂

And then for a single frame that flashes by at 6:13/7:35, you answer that question with a resounding "No." Curious. I will share with you that I found this show during the 2020 pandemic and had the time (seeing as the whole world shut down) to take it all in. Seasons 1-5 are some of the best television I've ever devoted my time and attention to - no question. There are seasons that don't measure up to 1 thru 5, but then there are individual episodes are that so, so good - you just have to give it up to all those who had a hand in creating them; like the episodes "Baby" & "Red Meat" in season 11. And there are others, but to do the show credit, there are too many to list here. Linear television gave it's viewers the gift of making them wait 7 days before they saw the next episode. It kind of cleansed the palette. Watching them one after the other streaming-style has its drawbacks. The constant bickering between the brothers could rub, but all-in-all, it's a wild joyous ride. Some of the comedic episodes are the best. Enjoy! Can't wait to see your next posts on the show.
I watched from the pilot, but got behind s11. It took me years to decide on catching up because I wanted to research from s1. I finally did it early this year - took a little over 3 weeks - and it was very satisfying. When SPN is meh, it's entertaining enough, but when its good its fucking GREAT. I think its great to catch up on if you're not in a mood to watch/binge something serious. V gratifying for viewes who started almost 20yrs ago.
I LOVE this show! I've watched the complete 15 seasons--twice! With it being 15 seasons, you might find it worth doing two episodes at a time. "Yellow Fever" is one of the funniest episodes, ever. There's also the shout out to Negan/Jeffery Dean Morgan that is awesome in it's subtlety. I'll watch with you--as far as you go!

A bit inconclusive since views on the super natural videos tanked pretty hard compared to the rest of his content. A bit ironic compared to what he says in this video.
Seasons 6-7 are okay, there are some classic episodes that are amazing, some great development for secondery character.
Seasons 8-11 are very good and have the best storyline after 1-5.
Season 12-15 are pretty bad, but they still have interesting new characters, great filler episodes and some great moments.
I would say the whole show is worth watching if you feel attached to the characters, even if it never reached the level of seasons 1-5 story arc.
Hell yes, as soon as we finish all episodes we started again, it is that good.
Watched it all 2 or 3 years ago and now I'm watching it again with my daughter, no problem. I started out saying to her "Wait til you meet Bobby Singer" , then it was "wait til you meet Castiel" then it was "wait til you meet The King of Hell" and "you'll love Rowena". Best bunch of characters ever.
I'll watch 20 seasons of Supernatural. It's awesome. My favorite shows of all time.
S6 was too much a change for me. 1-5 felt like a single story, S6 felt like they just wanted to keep making money.
Show is the one of the best shows I've ever watched with the first 5ish seasons being the best. That being said its all so good and watched all 15 seasons!

I never started watching Supernatural because of the length of the show, however my favourite tv show Doctor Who will be starting its 40th season next year.

Oh yes, I am a big fan of Supernatural. As I watched all 15 seasons and have them all on DVD, now am I happy with everything they did, no, but I always enjoyed what I saw and the monster they fought.
I Watch all of them, religiously. And boy it was quite a ride, lots of them filler episodes got nothing to the main story but still. Its feels good watching them. And the last season also delivers, one of the best endings in the sea of bad endings TV shows.

Do with this as you will. I watched it for the first time during the start of this year, then I proceeded to binge the hell out of it because I absolutely loved it. However, I will say this, you really start to notice the decline of the series after season five. That is because the showrunner Eric Kripke left (he’s the creator of this and The Boys). The show was only supposed to run for five seasons. I am conflicted about this, because on one hand, I’m glad they continued, and the other side of me is saying they should have just called it at five seasons. You also notice the point in which they begin to cater to a young female audience due to that being the bulk of the fanbase. What really made the show cave in on itself was continuing on after key characters that were more complex and interesting than Sam and Dean had been killed off. Hate me if you will and go off, go to town. I’m saying what I’m saying, although, I won’t mention those character names due to potentially spoiling it for others who haven’t watched it yet. Real fans with a brain and not an ounce of Sam & Dean fan girl (who have also written or made up their own fan fiction) in them know which characters I’m referring to. Don’t get me wrong, Dean is probably one of the most tragic characters in the history of television, nevertheless when it comes to favorite characters in the show, he isn’t at the top for me. After season five all the way through to fifteen, there were some really bad seasons, I couldn’t stand them. They became repetitive, the plot was obvious and all in all they were outright pointless. In saying that, there were also some great seasons as well. Would I recommend watching it? Absolutely. Will your life and everything collapse and will you go into financial ruin, leaving you homeless without your family or will you become a fugitive and hunted across your entire country if you don’t watch it past season five? Absolutely not, so don’t sweat it if you don’t commit to it.

Truthfully, you don't have to watch all 15 seasons.
Seasons 6-15 are so disconnected from the first 5, and the first 5 have such a good ending to them that wraps up every single plotline, that you can really stop there and consider yourself done with this amazing show.
Seasons 6-15 are debatable, some people hate em, some love em, some are indifferent to em and think they have great moments like me.
Buut even if you dislike everything past season 5, it's so disconnected from the story of the first 5 that it doesn't matter if you don't like it or want to watch it

Seasons 1-5 are legitimately great tv and well worth the watch, with 4 and 5 being some of the best tv out there in its genre. Everything past that point is hit or miss, lowering in quality as the show goes on and starts to run out of ideas.
Definitely worth it! Although I watched it every year it came out so it was nice have a enjoyable constant to look forward to.
The last season did let it down a bit though.

I abandoned this show years ago during season 8. In the last few months I started again from where I stopped (over the years I've rewatched the old episodes sometimes) and I'm currently at the end of season 13. I personally think I will rest a little, watching something else before the last two seasons.
The problem of Supernatural is that it's so long that it jumps the sharks several times, alternating good parts and bad parts.
The one constant is that the characters are likeable and it's easy to care about them.
The show can be divided in major story arcs.
Seasons 1 - 5: the show as originally intended. It was supposed to have only five season, we all know about it. If you want to start now you can easily just watch this arc and then stop. This is the best part of the show probably, the quality is constant, the plot is very coherent, from the very first flashback at the beginning of season 1 to the end of season 5.
You can ignore the open ending and pretend this is the show if you don't want to continue.
Season 6 and 7: the writers were experimenting, trying to find a new way for the show. The problem is: what can the Wichester brothers do after saving the events of season 5? It's hard to find a new path for a story after it's supposed ending.
The two season are coherent, a big story in two acts. It expands the worldbuilding, develop the characters, however it doesn't have much influence on later season.
(I hate how they dealt with the big villains of season 7)
Season 8: the nothingness. I hate it. I wasn't invested at all in the major plotline. I never thought for even one second that the Wichester's quest in this season (you know, the "trials") would actually have an effect on the world. And the main villain simlpy can't work, he is not an actual villain.
Season 9 - 10 -11: I didn't like much season 9 for a series of reasons, however it can be considered the begininng of the arc.
I love season 10, this is probably the best season in blending the main plotline with the monster-of-the-week episodes. The only problem with season 10 is that I think they shoud have given more episodes to a certain thing that happens with Dean.
And then there is season 11, which is the second perfect ending for the show. For the first time after season 6 I've felt this show was actually the sequel of the first 5 seasons.
I wished I've stopped there.
And then there is the arc I'm wathcing now, from season 12. I'm kind disappointed, I really don't see where the show is going.
(I mean: I know the plot of season 15, I know where this is going, but it seems like a desperate attempt to finally stop the show).
I think I'm the only one addicted enough to supernatural to watch whole show thrice, in three consecutive years.. 😬😬😬😬 but hey it's better to trauma bond with a show than with humans as they say

According to my mom, a watcher of all 15 seasons, the first five seasons are a really cohesive story that could have been the whole show, and season 9-12 got a little repetitive with the Angels vs Demons conflict. But the show never dipped too far in quality that there was a season that she would call bad.
Personally I’m an advocate for as many seasons as possible. I just finished Greys anatomy and rushed to Law and Order. And I’ve seen all 15 seasons of Supernatural 3 times.

I started binge watching it in high school on Netflix that was 2015 2016 by the time I binged watched all the seasons they were on season 13 on cable season 12 and I watch the rest of the show on cable!
I just finished season 15 the other day, it's worth it because it only took me like 4 months to binge watch this whole series and I don't bother or finish too many Network shows that have so many episodes. Like most fans say, seasons 1-5 are the prime years but I still think seasons 6-11 are mostly great. Seasons 12-15 are disappointing, and the show did go too long but there're still some good episodes in the mix.
Watched all 15 seasons this year, and I loved it! Show really took off for me after season 8, and the only time I was mildly unentertained was during 13/14a.
I'm actually watching GoT right now, but I keep checking youtube every 20-ish minutes. Since I've already started watching the show though, can't really stop! And comforts me knowing it's only 1/3 the length of Supernatural!

Just for what comes before season 8 it is worth it. AND THE ACID TRIP AFTER IS WORTH IT TOO.
i started watching it in about march or april 2023, a few episodes nearly every day. it’s now december 30 2023 and i only have 6 episodes left out of 327. i’m gonna finish it in the first day or two of january since i can’t watch it dec 30 or 31. i think it was definitely worth my time and it’s my favourite show.
I used to watch Supernatural on TV back in ~2009, than it stopped airing through broadcast TV here in Brazil. Then I got Netflix in 2015 and decided to restart it. The show had just wrapped its 10th season. It took me around 1 year and 3 months to catch up with it, and I started the 12th season up to date, for the first time. I remained up to date (ish) until the very end. Honestly, I think the show is not worth it after season 5. That season had a good ending for the arc that started in season 1. From season 6 on, they just started coming up with things with absolutely no plan and the quality only dropped more and more. Of course, there are still isolated episodes worth it on seasons 6 to 15, but my general advice would be to drop it after season 5, because it works perfectly that way. After that, the show feels like a bad fan fiction with good ideas but poor execution. I guess it's worth it as long as you're enjoying it. Don't let yourself be another victim of the sunk cost fallacy and just drop it when you realise it's not working for you anymore.
It depends. Take NCIS for example. Probably my favorite show no doubt since I've watched every episode since I was born, essentially. Hell, my mother was recapping NCIS while waiting in the maternity ward to give birth to me. There's been a lot of changes in characters, dynamics, and cast and all that stuff. But the quality hasn't gone down. Sometimes old characters return to get their spotlight and fan service then they dip. And it's been going for 20. FREAKING. SEASONS.
I do look forward to it ending so I can find another goated TV show, but for now, we're sticking it out until the end.
i think 15 seasons WASNT enough, i want more, WE DESERVED MORE.....with the rushed feeling ending with the way dean died, and i wished they hinted and explored more of castiels romantic feeling for dean, even just for a few more episodes before they died, it would have been so much more heartbreaking, watching cas really realize hes IN LOVE with a human, then he dies, while not getting what he truly wants (dean) and not being able to really have him.
Honestly, I love the walking dead but I’m glad you are slowly take a break from analyzing the episodes. It feels like a breath of fresh air hearing you talking about other things and it’s great

I'll take Supernatural over The Walking Dead any damn day. Supernatural even in its weaker seasons can still be really fun but The Walking Dead just became boring.
They made a prequel series called "The Winchesters"
As a first time viewer from last week, I binge watched the entire 15 seasons. Didn't felt like 15 seasons and 20+ episodes per season. I normally dont like 20+eps per seasons.
This show is worth it especially now. A lot of new shows sucks. Never have good stories or never had any endings.
And if you want to invest time watching, at the very least you know you'll get a complete story.

I watched every single episode and it took me about 4 and half years on and off but it was my “I’m bored show” so I would put it on and watch it when I was bored or had nothing else to watch. It’s a great show I recommend a slow burn watching of the show. It’s not a beige show.

Seasons 1-7 are amazing but you can see some major issues with cookie cutter seasons for 8-14
15 seasons & it still felt like they rushed the last episode
As someone who’s been a fan for a decade+ here’s my opinion that nobody asked for. There are three timelines for the show 1-5, 6-11 and 12-15. 1-5 is the original story intended by Eric Kripke the creator of the show. 6-11 are a continuation with multiple different show-runners who all do a good job at maintaining the show. Seasons 12-15 the show runners are the duo Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer. I personally love 1-11 all together but after season 11 I find it just lost its quality due to Andrew Dabb being a show runner (great ideas, not a good writer) and season 13+ it’s just all about Jack, who I’m afraid I don’t like as much as most other SPN characters. And there are some other personal issues with 12-15, so I personally recommend everyone watch seasons 1-11 or 1-5.
I don't know if this is completely true but I am under the impression Jensen Ackles was in top contention to play Hawkeye in The Avengers movie. Nothing against Jeremy Renner, but I feel like Ackles would have been outstanding in the role and who knows what it would have led to?!!! And (again just going by rumors) then I heard he turned down the role because it would have led to the cancellation of Supernatural and hundreds of people would have lost their jobs.
I know Ackles has had a bit of of success since the end of Supernatural but I feel like it would have been so much more if the show had ended sooner.
I started in July, and finished right after Thanksgiving. I'll be starting my second go-round next month. It's totally worth it.

Yes, but the real question we should all be asking is
"Why didn't they stop at 5?"
Season 5 is the canonical ending and everyone -- well, true fans, really -- knows that.
Sure, I still love the show... uh. Well, not a lot, but a fair amount, in the ten seasons that followed, but I consider them more like "what if?" scenarios than the real canon of the show. Especially considering how many times... uh... trying to avoid specific spoilers here, but, the times characters die and come back, and that accounts for time traveling and alternate universe shenanigans and a bunch of stupid--I mean, fun crap.
Seasons 1-5: Absolutely love. There's maybe a handful of bad episodes or episodes I don't bother rewatching anymore, but overall it's a great story that gets better with every season. "Bugs" is really the only worthless episode so far, and I think people give "Route 666" too much crap. I think it's a great episode, and Cassie was a MUCH better fit for Dean romantically than... ugh. _Lisa._ I couldn't care about Lisa (and Ben) any less, but Cassie? Cassie was GREAT.
Seasons 6+: various levels of good, great, bad, and absolutely terrible. Season 15 is the worst the show ever got, and that final episode is abysmal, but the first time I tried to watch Season 8, I had to stop watching the show for a few weeks because I couldn't stand how cringeworthy it was in the first few episodes. Every time Sam and Dean gets a flashback for the majority of the season, I roll my eyes, and I can't stand Sam's flashbacks in particular, so I skip them every time. At least Benny's a cool character. But this was the season Sam was grossly out of character so the main plot makes little sense.

I'm curious to see how i get on with it too, as im aware later seasons are not all that great conpared to the first five,
But as long as the two characters and actors stay as good as they have been , plus the great recurrning characters ,
Then it'll continue being a great ride for me!

started rewatching a few weeks ago. last it binged it, i stopped around season 8 or 9, when season 10 was still airing. i got burned out, but im ready to get back in to.
It sure is. Sam and Dean's brotherly bond is epic and the Js do an exceptional job of portraying that.
Compared to the sub-par content that is currently being shoved in our faces; following the Winchesters as they drive towards their destiny is an unadulterated pleasure. Even the lesser seasons are nevertheless made equally enjoyable by Sam and Dean's presence. :)
