  • Just showing you how I make my Zobo Drink from scratch. You don't have to use honey like I did, you may use sugar or any other sweetener. I just prefer to keep mine a bit healthy.
    Ingredients:
    400g Dried Hibiscus Leaves
1 Very Ripe and Sweet Pineapple
    2 Sweet Oranges
    2 Inch Ginger Root
    1 Cup Pure Honey
    2 Tablespoons Cloves (Konofuru/Konofiri)
    Cinnamon Stick

I am a Jamaican and still living in Jamaica for 64 year's. Jamaican's make their famous national drink similar. They call it Sorrel. Jamaican Sorrel drink is made with Hibiscus, pineapple, lemons, ginger, cloves, & cinnamon sticks is optional. Looks Good, Great job!

Yeah, sorrel is the same thing as zobo. That's what we call it in Nigeria.

Yes, family from 🇦🇬 and all over the Caribbean we call it sorrel but it truly originates from our African heritage. I make this once a month... I get the 20lb bag of dry leaves from Restaurant Depot. But yeah it starts in the motherland.

I am from Jamaica. We don't use pineapple and oranges. We use a lot of ginger. Cinnamon and clove is optional. Then add white rum, it gives a good flavor to the drink.

I'd put the pineapple and orange juice in once it's cooled down as the heat kills the vit c

Blend and sieve your pineapple and add it after the hibiscus has cooled. That way you preserve the nutrients in the pineapple ....I think?
