  • Information about this track:
Jump In The Fire was originally written by Dave Mustaine about sex for his previous band Panic. The original lyrics can be heard here. Later on, after Dave was kicked out of the band, James re-wrote the lyrics to be about being damned to Hell. The version heard here is from the demo tape recorded in Ron McGovney's garage on March 14th, 1982

The way Dave Mustaine plays this riff is outstanding. Of course he wrote it and he’s playing it the way it’s meant to be played, but man I wish this was the version on Kill ‘em All. But definitely not the singing, sounds like someone strangling a cat!

Ron mc govney give the soul and swing of the bass lines in the song. They were so great that Cliff himself didnt dare to modify them

Actually Cliff did modify the bass line! He added the ascending line on intro and choruses after each descending line. He built off of Rons but had a great sense of harmony and improved it.

There's potential there but I don't see them going anywhere beyond local gigs. That guitarist should go off and start his own band though.

James' early vocals really sounds a lot like Robert Plant, it's wild.

I can see why Lars wrote something like “turn bass eq down” on the original tapes. Doesn’t sound bad just not the sound they were going for I guess.
