    Having sold Triumphs, I feel like most serious ADV riders will install their preferred breakaway mirrors, handguards, and tires. They’re a market segment whose purchasing decisions are so very difficult to predict.
    I didn’t experience the same and hadn’t heard similar comments from customers as you, regarding the levers.
    My issue with semi-active suspension is the rider is locked into a defined adjustment window, set by the factory. A manually-adjustable suspension can be initially setup by one’s preferred tuner to be in the center of the components’ full adjustment range, then, easily fine tuned by the rider.
    As always, I really enjoy your videos.

      Thanks Ken! Totally agree on the mirrors etc but was more nudging towards what quality should be given for the cost. The plastic hand guards are pointless, the mirrors are so out of date, the tires mean you’re spending an extra £250 straight after buying it. To have decent factory options would be cool. I agree, most serious ADV riders would just opt to choose and install whatever they like though.
      It’s just the brake lever I take issue with, again I would install shorties if it were my bike anyway.
      That’s a good point re semi active suspension! I think it would just benefit being a bike designed for multiple uses, so it could change to suit the requirements and because the competition is offering it. Maybe you’re right though, as I said in the video, it’s a bit soft as standard but I would get it set for my weight.

    This and the street triple both have soft front suspension- averagre weight 175lbs. So i guess it would benefit from heavier springs for the forks.

    Awesome review! Loved the cinematography and honesty. How does it compare to the Desert Sled (not specs-wise, but feel-wise)?

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you! It’s a very very different bike to the sled. Much more polished and refined and built for longer travel I think / more comfort. It’s more of a performance machine and it feels more powerful. The desert sled is a great bike and great fun but the tiger feels more refined and grown up.

    Nice impartial review, Henry. To be honest I don't watch many as most are gushing praise from people too scared for saying the way they find it in case of being 'banned' by manufacturers. Good point the tyres. Why? Just why?

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety

      It’s for sure a great bike and one worth buying, so why gloss over the things that should be sorted? Doesn’t stop it being great but they shouldn’t be ignored. Yes a lot of people are scared and rightly so, manufacturers these days have so many people to choose from and a lot of them have no credibility they just have a following & are looking to grow their brand...

  • @TheAdventuresofPhilJones

    Nice review and video Henry! It does look a great bike, I’m hoping to get my mitts on one soon. How did it feel compared to your Street Triple?

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety +3

      Thanks Phil! It’s not as rapid as the street triple but has a lot more torque and because of the seating position and suspension it feels a lot more lively down low. It’s a lot more comfortable, handles just as well but makes power in different places.

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 2 lety

      It’s a great size for taller people, maybe add adjustable foot pegs but other than that the reach is perfect. Will be great two up I’m sure, especially if you stiffen the suspension up a bit. Super comfy and have the option for heated seats for the two of you!

    Great review Henry, but it is those details that put me off - it’s like Triumph are deliberately half-assing the bike. Why do they handicap themselves so?

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety

      I guess they trying to compete on price sitting below the 1000+ cc models? Mirrors however are the same as my 2011 street triple came with! No excuses there...

    When you compare bikes in this segment which one would you like to buy, cos am planning to buy n am confused as to buy gs or africa twin or rally pro. Gs looks too huge n heavy n way more pricier. Africa twin dct looks huge n heavy n i dint like the colour which comes in only one colour in india n also it doesn't have premium finish is what I felt. Am a first time buyer n planning to buy n go for rides so pls suggest cos rally pro i liked everything but I felt it to be top heavy. I liked the headlight styling, leather seats, its slimness n little lighter when compared to others.

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety

      They are have different plus points. I haven’t ridden an africa twin but that has a lot more technology. The rally pro is the more basic option but still has everything you need for much less money. The GS doesn’t feel heavy when you ride it but it’s very expensive. Both the africa twin and GS will be faster and more powerful because the engine is much bigger. Tiger is a bit top heavy but fine once moving. Tiger is most stylish I think. For me it would probably take it if I was going to do mixed riding. If just touring / road riding I would buy a GS.

    • @HenryCrew35
      @HenryCrew35  Před 3 lety +1

      The rally pro is quite tall but I haven’t tried the GT - it also changes from person to person, I think you can get them lowered and they have a lower saddle too. The best thing would be to try one and talk to the dealer to see what they can do for you before spending the money :)
