  • If you want to learn more techniques and process, I would highly recommend the book ' Drawing and Painting, Materials and Techniques for Contemporary Artist. It goes through a range of techniques and talks you though the process. I have put the link below.

    In this video, I choose 8 different techniques to build up your confidence using acrylic paint. There are so many different techniques and processes, so will need to do another video to fit them all in. I finish the video with a painting timelapse looking at one of my favourite artists #jeanmichelbasquiat #basquiat . Acrylic paint is a fantastic medium, where you can cover your mistakes, so pick up a paintbrush and get creative!!!

    Who doesn't love Basquiat?? My artist daughter and I, her Mother, were completely enamored of his work! Our hearts also felt what we felt for him-how could they not? Thank you for this. Terri from the South

      Cheers Janice, that’s great to hear. Some will be longer but it’s just trying to find a balance as some people say they drag on. Thanks for watching them and glad it’s getting you inspired 👍🏻

    Hey Tom, yesterday I found one of your videos through some suggested videos on youtube and I fell in love with many of them. You have demonstrated amazing techniques in amazing ways. I am learning a lot of things from your videos and I have decided to break all the rules and limitations of my colouring techniques now. I am a student, I love to learn new things and finally I have found a great channel which makes me learn a lot. Thank you so much Tom. Love from India🙏

    You should never use paint straight out of the tube. I would advise adding a tiny bit of paint from the opposite end of the colour wheel. Hope this helps 😁

    Rubbing of paints (the sponge) is my favorite technique. I wouldn't mind long videos

    • @TomQuigleyArt
      @TomQuigleyArt  Před 3 lety +1

      That sounds like a good technique too. I try and just take the average and 10 min seems to be the best, as some people want shorter ones or longer. I will be doing more in depth videos but these will be on my patreon in the future. Cheers for watching 👍🏻

    Just this regarding Basquiat's incredible works-and I realize I am writing on the pages that are not up to date-that is, 2022, yet I must, MUST say how obscene I found what the Gallery in The US did with his art-the great Basquiat misrepresentation-stealing, duplicating, trying to pass off his work--he was so open and giving- too much, actually. For example, he would make a lot of small, very small original works and just try to give them to people, free! I think every so often he tried to sell them for next to nothing, and people just pushed him to the background, ignored him, said and did things that hurt hs extremely overly-sensitive nature- and it was such a slap in the face to him. Just had to say this! Terri in the South
