I was able to buy and play this game yesterday on the Switch. No idea why everyone is saying it releases on November 3rd. Played it with no issues and it was a blast.
Is the game so good ? Worth to buy ? And how long the main story ?

@@TriangleStudios I guess by "re-imagined" you wanted to say that you've seen Basingstoke and had some surplus money floating around.
It's beautifully done btw, kudos on that! But I really don't like the overall design of the game, I think it's a shallow time sink and a waste of a perfectly well done micro engine. I don't mind shooting or the zany killing and destruction, but if you want more details: the repetitiveness of the core loop, the lack of any serious hook to get me back, the intentionally labyrinthine maps to mask the lack of content, the necessity of having to know 3 adolescent friends in order to team up in my 40s, and the annoyingly shrunken inventory capacity to highlight the lack of any real progress coupled with a weird checkpoint saving system in a world where everything respawns including the fog of war ... Oh boy, WHY would anyone waste their time! People OF COURSE want to love this by the look of it, but will then forget about it in a week, because there is no meat, no reason, it feels like work, and you can't work with adolescents, it's paradoxical. So it'll pass, and it was a waste of time if you weren't in it only for the money. If you were in it only for the money, kudos on that as well.
You had a better thing rolling on with "It came from space and ate our brains" because it was exactly the thing it was supposed to be, a dirty teenage sleepover secret, a tiny brutal shooter cult title with brutality disguised by cute voxel monsters, so that even moms can get along with it, but I'm thinking that with this you're stepping in the wrong territory without recognizing the difference in perceived value. You are also stomping on your prior success, and cannibalizing the niche, because you're making it incredibly hard for anyone else to make a title such as "It came from space and ate our brains". What you made here looks too expensive for what it really is. If I had to name this phenomenon, I'd call it "post-indie". You're pumping up the apparent value artificially with the fireworks and decorative stuff, instead going against the actual gameplay dynamic which is where the value truly lies. That is, if you're aiming to have a decent shelf life.
Hopefully nobody takes this too personally, I'm staring into games for far too long and I've seen a couple thousands of them. Again, it's a beautiful game, very crispy and juicy. But then a cursory glance on the Steam reviews highlights the exact same sentiments I'm having (if you can filter the 90% of "perfect for a weekend with a friend"). If I were to write a book I'd take this (and Basingstoke) as prime examples of how *not* to design a game around the mind-blowingly good-looking aesthetics, but feel free to simply ignore the old man.

If so then did you know the reason why it looks familiar is probably because of the title and the alien designs.
Also besides the fact that it was made by the same Developers (Triangle Studios) who have also commented on other comments like this one.
