My Beef With CMON …. Oh and X-Men Resistance

- Fed up with CMON's lazy, non-chalant approach to delivering to their Kickstarter backers, I decided to pick up the X-Men Resistance stand-alone expansion via standard retail and ended up paying less than I would have if I had picked up the expansion during the campaign!
If your not interested in the KS exclusives then waiting for retail is the better way to go, much cheaper and sometimes sooner.
Yeah, that's bs. They don't have retail costs and save on selling direct, so could afford to eat some of the shipping and still make more than selling to amazon. I'm looking at Clash of Eternia in Europe, but hope not $$$ on shipping
Marvel Zombies was the CMON game that finally made me back away from CMON games, I did go all in (except the garden gnome) on Season 3 and 4 of Death may Die, but frankly I haven't backed anything else from CMON.
When I saw the shipping added with the VAT (I am a UK backer) I was shocked and ended up only getting the core box with stretch goal box, it was shocking, I ended up doing only 1 wave shipping and then sat back and watched retail buyers get the base game a year before me.
Can't say I'll be looking to back anything from CMON in a hurry again.
100% I paid $60 for single wave shipping and watched Amazon sell it for way cheaper w/ free shipping almost a month before me.
I foolishly went all in, had to pay a stupid amount of money and I have only received the Galactus so far. Not learning from this campaign I backed Marvel United Multiverse and DCeased also. Still Waiting for Marvel Zombies.
I actually got Marvel Zombies for $60 at Target this last black Friday and Undead or Alive for $66. Got Ankh for $58 at Nerdz day. There is very little reason to kickstart a CMON game - you can find it much cheaper at retail and most of the times the exclusive content from kickstarter is an unbalanced mess. I'm always puzzled by how many folks jump into their very poor all-in offers.

Backed Marvel Zombies. I was definitely suprised by the shipping, but I wasn't about to grab my pitchforks. I just chalked it up to continuing pandemic fallout. I've since backed Marvel United: Multiverse, Zombicide: White Death, and DCeased. The shipping price has got more accurate since then, at least for the two (DCeased pledge manager hasn't launched yet) that I backed. Both were within maybe 10 dollars of estimate price. As for getting it via retail faster. I just assumed that was due to shipping logisitics. Like, CMON sets them off from China and the boats get there when they get there. I'm figure Amazon has a faster unload time than Miniature Market or whomever they are using for fufillment. But it's always kinda been a thing with CMON. I remember people getting upset back in Zombicide Prison Outbreak that they brought in pallets of the game to be sold at GenCon prior to any backer getting their copy. Regardless, I never really worried about someone else getting the game before me, cause I know I'm going to get it eventually. With all the shiny KS stuff.

I got X-men, sinister six, fantastic 4 and hydra expansion all for £221 retail. Glad i waited. wasn't fussed about stretch goals, as the content in those expansions alone are enough for a lifetime. Also delivered for free 😉

Currently I don't have any. At the time, I was worried people wouldn't want to watch due to spoilers, but I have been wanting to get the game back out to play through the wave 2 content, so I certainly could put some videos out of that compaign.
