This was the starter set I used for my introduction to heroclix back in october 2017
I remember that this was in the back, buried behind all of the justice league starters, when I saw Spider-Man in this set, I knew I HAD to get it for my start. I'm such a huge Spider-Man fan, so it was really nice to be able to use him at my start.
I definitely think this starter is new player friendly. from personal experience, I can say it's a huge blast using these guys to battle each other.
While this starter set doesn't have the updated rules and PAC (which you can get online from WizKids), it is a lot of fun to play, indeed. A nice starter set and good strategy (and dice rolling your away at least a little ;o) is sometimes all you need!

The modified Super-Senses that Spidey has comes in really handy when I get caught in a bad situation.

Thank you very much. If I understand the release schedule correctly, there should be two more starter sets coming our way before September: Elseworlds in July and The Mighty Thor (probably with 2017 rules).
I only found HeroClix this week (better late than never, right?) and this is the set I bough from my FLGS' limited selection. Thank you for your videos. Im very much looking forward to getting into this game which seems amazing!

I like using poker chips too, but I find the ones Wizkids make too shiny, I struggle to make out the picture. I have the same complaint about the bystander tokens they had as prizes, even more so as it's actually important to be able to read those dials easily. I much prefer the tokens I got from Gaming vs Cancer, a charity with an annual fundraising tournament a guy I know runs here on the south coast of the UK :p
I have to agree that the shiny tokens make things a harder to see. It's a little problematic for bystanders, but for Action Tokens, the shiny ones are fine by me. Since they're usually underneath a figure, it's mostly the side colors that are seen anyway. Can't wait to see the Elseworlds tokens and dice!

I Bought the 2 avengers ones,And the JL(Trinity War) and now i even have the Joker ones..that i like to use..also Dices from those Packs are Always nice to use..
I would've liked to see the maps covered in more detail, as they would be my primary reason for getting this starter. Also, it doesn't sound like team abilities were included here. That's a BIG problem. I can understand them not necessarily being in Yu-Gi-Oh or TMNT, but not seeing them in Civil War was a major issue for me.
He showed that all these figures have team abilities; Iron Man and Thor have Avengers, Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Punisher have Spider-Man Ally, and Nico has Mystics
Thanks for your comments... I'll see what I can do regarding the maps. I had tried to film the map from overhead, but the final result was not to my satisfaction, so I edited that out. Maybe I can add something in the Sway page (sway.com/BfB1CFE293VkqGd5?ref=Link&loc=play not done yet, but soon). As for the team abilities. since I don't go into all the details of every power characters have in these reviews (Fast Forces and now Starter Sets), I usually don't mention them in the audio unless there's something special in the pack. Luckily, the cards do show which TAs are available. But now I'm thinking I could add TAs to the Power Chart I show in Fast Forces reviews. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion.

Ah! Didn't catch that the first around... That would be nice, indeed; a printed version of the Team Abilities reference cards. I've never seen one... My understanding is that since new players rarely get into exploring TAs until after playing quite a few games, WizKids considered that adding them to a starter set might confuse new players or overwhelm them with the quantity of rules (but hey, I'm just guessing). It would be nice indeed to have access to a printed version. I can see how this could be the focus of a special Fast Forces pack, actually.

Jonny Noz Wow! That is some luck! Congrats! Tokens and dice are always nice. In a future video, I'll explain why it's useful to have two sets of tokens with different colours.

Yup... Only in Starter Sets now (or OP kit prizes). The premium maps are fantastic, but that's a whole other thing.
i know but we dont play at any stores ,so no op kits maps and the premium are just to expensive......for a casual player......
They are a little pricey... For filming these videos, they were a must (no glare). Playing on these maps is a charm, though. Your characters don't slip off a square because of a crease, objects and markers stay in place, etc. I see it as the equivalent of getting the deluxe version of Scrabble with the rotating tray or vintage versions of Clue or Monopoly in nice wooden boxes with higher quality accessories. It's a little luxury, of course, but if you play often, it can be worth it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I know how you feel. I went about it the other way around... I'm a DC fan, but still to skip the Wonder Woman gravity feed; there's just so much product being released right now!
After laying Marvel teams so much and after 2 very very nice marvel sets I am kinda burned out of marvel.What If is Passable to me and DC:s elseworld seem to have more intresting clixes.

I hear you. Though I have to say in WizKids' defense, the close-ups in these videos really emphasize the details (or lack thereof). It is mass production, after all. So many games come with unpainted miniatures, I must admit I'm not expecting Krosmaster Arena quality and I wouldn't want a price hike to get better quality paints... Although, maybe a once a year Super High Detail Set could be a thing (higher price, higher quality sculpts and paints... a DC set one year, and a Marvel one the next... maybe even a Spawn set). The colossi and giants are always fantastic, though. I just got the Ameridroid and he's perfect! Is there a special set you'd like to set in high detail?

I have some money to spend about 300$ what do you recommend for new players?
I am thinking about getting a what if case and a deadpool an x force brick
If you don't already have a starter set, the What If... starter set is a must. The Marvel Knights Fast Forces pack (also reviewed on this channel) is perfect for new players, in my opinion; so that could be a good first add-on. As for 300$ worth of boosters, a case is always fun because you're sure (or so we all think... keep hoping this is true) to get a chase. But chase figures are not all always the best when you're a new player. A case of What If... is going to be lots of fun, of course, but when you're starting to play, I'm thinking you might be better off getting bricks (not cases) of different sets you find interesting. You'll get fewer doubles of commons and uncommons and will have a better variety of figures to build your teams from. You like What If... and Deadpool & X-Force? Get a brick of each and perhaps a brick of Avengers/Defenders War. With three bricks of Marvel sets, you'll also have a nice selection of keywords (which I have yet to cover on this channel). But if you like DC, you could always wait a month for Elseworlds or relatively recent set tickles your fancy. I loved the Superman/Wonder Woman set; colossal figures are lots of fun. But bricks of SM/WW are really hard to come by now. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and welcome to the game!

Well how about u make a video about characters from the comics that u want to be in heroclix. And maybe some powers that they might have. Hmmmm
That's in the works, actually... Great minds think alike, I'm sure ;o). I plan to do a segment with Heroclix national judges from my venue where we would discuss possible sets and special game mechanics for those sets. Thanks for sharing!
