    The pdrug withdrawal community can be very cruel to protracted people. Imagine attacking the long suffering and calling them names and accusing them of malingering or doing it wrong somehow. For some of us the damage is permanent and why would that make us guilty or the bad guy? Its the drugs that have injured our bodies. I've been maligned and abandoned so many times in the community, I had to walk away but I do listen to you to ground myself when I need it. I am grateful for most of your content.
    Anyways congrats on 7.5 years off, you're doing really, really well Angie. Keep being real. We can now value simple moments and that's enough.

    Hi Angie, I recently discovered your channel and your videos have given me hope.
    I have 3.5 years of protracted withdrawal after 8 years of using paxil and fast tapering (guided by my stupid psychiatrist). I went through HELL in the first two years. Today, I am 40% better, but still have SEVERAL debilitating symptoms. One of them, physical weakness that doesn't seem to improve. I used to do physical activities 6 times a week before the withdrawal, now I can barely do it once. Seeing your report that after 7.5 years you have recovered your physical strength, I feel hopeful.

    This did scare me a bit I must admit, but perhaps its because I am in such acute withdrawl, everything is catastrophe for me and unbearable. It scares me when anyone says they are healed but also still healing because my brain says, you see thy are not healed and at any moment all the sumptoms can take over them again so no one truly heals for good. That and the horrific realization that there is only acceptance. I hate that. To me acceptance means being stuck and not having a way out so in oreder to cope one needs to accept, and I never want to do that. I feel there is no way out and I just need to die already as bad as that is too.

    • @AngiePeacockMSW
      @AngiePeacockMSW  Před rokem +7

      No the symptoms calm down compared to what you are feeling right now and the lingering stuff is not even worth mentioning. Your brain is afraid right now (in active) and didn’t even hear all the good stuff I said! Do you notice that? And no the symptoms can’t just come back at you in later years. THOSE SYMPTOMS ARE ALREADY HEALED AND GONE, why would they come back?

    With the utmost gentleness I would just like to say that protracted withdrawal symptoms align with what it's exactly like when an adult with diagnosed or undiagnosed autism regresses (worse than burnout) after years/decades of masking. An unbearable loss of ability to mask any longer happens and an autistic person is completely skill-less and at a complete loss to attempt social normality whatsoever. I know this video isn't about autism, but I had no friggen idea that coming off of benzos and opioids and alcohol and cigarettes after 17 yrs was going to leave me 100% dibilitated. Those vices helped me appear normal to the world and to myself for so very long.

      @AngiePeacockMSW  Před rokem +4

    • @Sarahpreecenelsonnz
      @Sarahpreecenelsonnz Před rokem +5

      I am interested in this topic/thread but It's perplexing to me that after watching this video, people might still look to explain the features of evident neuro- toxicity as e.g. underlying Autism.
      I rather see the possibility that late-diagnosed/ adult-onset Autism might also be a feature of the same harm: ie neuro-toxicity from meds or other toxins. Mis-labelled.
      I know of so many people recently given the autism diagnosis after years of supposedly benign SSRI use.
      I hear how their prescribers offer the new diagnosis as an explanation for why their patient is feeling increasingly worse, not better, on their old meds.
      It is apparent to me that psychotropics cause autistim-like traits.
      I have aeen it firsthand in people i know well and over many years e.g. onset of verbal and motor tics, stimming, increased sensory sensitivity and social phobia to name a few. They weren't like this before SSRIs, but they've lost touch with who they were before the meds.
      The Autism diagnosos leads to a change in meds - off the SSRI (perhaps with no proper support with withdrawal) and onto the Ritalin or suchlike.
      In my mind, this is the typical rort of the wilfully-blind medical model, puppeteered by the marketing of drug companies that masquerades as research.
      Many of my post benzo-harm symptoms have the same features as seen in Autism. I did not have any features of Autism prior to meds harm, nor was I masking any or needing to. I was a well adjusted, functional adult who fell victim to off-label pharma harm through an anomalous circumstance.
      It would not be a new thing for the medical model to pathologise the person with yet another (replacement) diagnosis and justify trial of yet another harmful drug, while wilfully blindly failing to see the harmful neurotoxic consequences of psychotropics. There is plenty of evidence of their neural toxity. Joanna moncrieff a starter as reference.
      I can almost guarantee that if I put myself in the reach of the medical model they would now diagnose me with Autism. But I know differently. Autism is not the cause of the changes in my capacity, skillset and once-gregarious personality - it is neuro-toxicity from medication harm.
      I know it is a tonic for some to accept another label or explanation and all good if that is what they feel applies to them.
      I recall that @angie named her condition for what it is in this video - neuro-toxicity.
      I wonder what it is about this condition (neurotoxicity from meds harm) that leads some not to be convinced of it and to suggest other things instead. I find it to be yet another challenge on the path to recovery or living well with this harm. But we wouldnt still be here if we didnt succeed at navigating those..

    Angie Dear! You have come SUCH A LONG WAY!!! Bravo! 🏆👏 Celebrate it! I don't find this to be triggering at all. You are so straight forward & real & that's what helps me the most about your story. I hear from many who are further out, that they have healed enough to get back to their full, happy lives, & they'll think that they reached their peak, & then as the months & years pass, they get the "cherry on top". You've helped me the most out of everyone in the community. I think when we start to get that healthy sleep.. & then really get more & more healthy sleep that helps a bunch, & that is just one aspect of it. -- Shelly

Then I took zyrtec for allergies, and had a major panic attack while driving. I went back on 1mg Ativan for 6 years, was in constant interdose withdrawal. I hit tolerance and thought I had the flu, taking Ativan immediately gave me side effects, so I figured it out...immediately started taper. I still have tinnitus and slight balance issues. I am trying to learn to drive again, I am still sensitive to lights and sounds, but I am hopeful things will continue to improve. I feel 75 percent better.

I didn't start taking supplements until 4 years off because I was afraid of COVID. I did okay, Vitamin D I definitely felt but just took it slow and then was okay with it. Now I can take MOST supplements with NO reaction, as long as they don't act like psych meds in some way. Yes, people have setbacks from antibiotics but YOU WILL HEAL FROM THAT too. Please hang in there. Give your body some more time.

    Hello, I took 3 and a half years Klonopin 1 mg, I have been free for 12 months after a decrease of only 5 days. I have many crazy symptoms, paranoia (I think all people are looking at me), agoraphobia, depersonalization, derealization, high anxiety, tachycardia, sensitive to noise, blurred vision, paranoid intrusive obsessive thoughts. ¿Is it normal that at 12 months I still have all these symptoms? I rarely leave my house, because every time I go out, I think that all the people are looking at me, this is very hard, it makes me want to cry sometimes, it seems that this hell never ends.

    any videos I could ask my husband to watch. I want him to be prepared for what he could possibly deal with from a care takers role. Not that I am hoping I wld need much from him but I don't want him worried from lack of understanding.

    I've been thinking about this and I have a question, if that's ok?
    You talked about doing neuroplasticity stuff. I know you said about focusing on the stuff that is working, but did you try anything else in that department? I tried DNRS awhile back, but I'm not sure it's for me.

      @AngiePeacockMSW  Před rokem +1

      I did a lot of principles in this book: amzn.to/44Aw7Ml but basically applied the principles to all of my symptoms. I also tried to create small, positive experiences for myself and build on them to sort of teach my brain some of the good stuff again. It didn’t come back for me all that easily. I need to make another video about this stuff, huh?

    • @kristajeanne572
      @kristajeanne572 Před rokem +1

      I read that book after your recommendation, but I need to revisit it, I think. I try to focus on the tiny good things when they happen, but I'm not in a very positive state of mind, no matter how much I try to be, and good things actually make me sad because I can't feel them fully. I feel like there's always an invisible barrier between me and the world from the DPDR. It was encouraging to see that that symptom lifted for you. I know how difficult it makes everything. Anyway, yeah, a video would be great. I'd like to try something different and I'd look forward to your ideas. Thank you.

      I’m happy to do a consultation with you if you’d like to book one as it’s really hard to message back and forth on social media. I can’t work that way. I’ll just say you have to go on a personal healing journey and try to get to the bottom of what’s happening in your life. Do you have a history of other psych drugs or antibiotics that could have ruined your gut? What is the ROOT CAUSE of your depression?

    Have you ever done the gaps diet? I’m trying rid of sibo, sifo, Candida and parasites I accumulated over the years. Also trying to heavy metal detox because the fillings I had were leaking. I’m going to try the elemental diet and heal leaky gut. I feel the same as you with being in a house with no light been in my highlander for 2 years now. I think what’s hindering us the worst is zyprexa. Akathisia sucks so bad makes me want to die every morning. I wish withdrawals like this on my soon to be abusive ex that got me put on the meds then told me if I didn’t ct he was going to divorce me. He tried to get me to kill myself after ct telling me I’m a bad mom and my life is a waste of space on this planet. All because he got million $ insurance that covers suicide. He’s a full blown narcissist so I’m having to deal with divorce to shit like that during a ct. been through a lot too can’t wait to have other feelings besides sadness anger numb emptiness. I sleep in the woods and chase tornados. I’m scared of stupid shit like staying in an apartment. Been told it takes the amount of years to heal as the years you took. I took them 13 years and took every god damn antipsychotic antidepressant medication. Zyprexa I couldn’t get off of had to use latuda to ct it but that sent me to another depth of hell worse than benzo. The psychwards know who I am and so do the police. It sucks. I don’t take any medication but I’m trying to heal naturally. I study functional medicine I’ve noticed some things do help.

      Why not do the carnivore instead? If you're trying to heal from leaky gut, sibo, candida over growth then Gaps is going to make it worse, Fiber from the veggies along with plant toxins and antinutrients such as Lectins, Amines, Tannins, Trypsin inhibitors, Flavonoid Carotenoid, Curcumin, Polyphenol, Quercetin, Lycopene, Anthocyanins, Resveratrol, Phenols, Glucosinolate, Flavan-3-ol
      Salicylates, Oxalates, Sulfites, benzo ates, MSG, Non protein amino acids, Glycosides, Catechin, Terpenoid
      ,Akaloids including solanine and chaconine, Triterpenes,Lignins, Saponins, Phytic acid, and Isoflaones disrupts and feeds the bad bacteria in your microbiome including Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, lactococci, streptococci(only certain subtypes) Enterococci, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus gasseri, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus helveticus
      Clostridium, Faecalibacterium, Eubacterium, Ruminococcus, Peptococcus, Peptostreptococcus, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus
      Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium, Streptococcus, Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococcus, Lactobacillus, and Ruminococcus, Campylobacter, Clostridium perfringens which makes things worse plus all that stuff converts to sugar which feeds candida. Carnivore diet is far better for reseting the gut
