The Very Best instructions I’ve ever come across on how to do this process. Clear and precise.
You nailed, Dad.
Thank you for clearing up where the instructions were on the descaler bottle. Like you, I looked all over and couldn’t see that!🤭
VERY helpful! I had already bought the Keurig de scaler solution, but there was no help on the Keurig website, and I didn’t care for the bottles instructions. You were very thorough and I will be utilizing your vinegar next time. I would be much happier using vinegar than this solution. Also, I had already put the descaler solution in without removing the carbon filter that I had just installed so I threw it away. So that was an invaluable tip. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your step by step instructions. This was so much easier to follow than the instructions printed on the bottle. 🤜🤛
You are so welcome!
I agree ☝🏼. Thank you.
I appreciate the all the detail...LOL I kept thinking the light was going to come on when I was doing the process. Silly me. Thanks again.
Glad I could help! Thanks for The kind words!!
What is your favorite K cup?
Terrific step-by-step how to!! I just enjoyed a great coffee! I purchases the descaler from Walmart, it cost $12.98, but that was fine!! Thank you once again. I live in Niagara Falls Ontario
That is awesome! Hello to Niagara falls!!!!! That is on my list of places to visit. Thanks so much for your kind words!!!!! How long have you had your K Select? and do you like it?
@@JustADad l've had my Keurig Select 1.5 years. Was a Christmas gift. I didn't know about desalination, but will do more often. I thought l needed a new machine, but happened to see the ad on utube. Thanks again!!
@@bettyreid9752 Awesome thanks for Sharing, Its cool to know how you found the video also. thanks for Sharing that part!!
Thank you. I had wondered about this descale indicator s nice to know it’s necessary to perform
This easy maintenance every few months
You are welcome!
What is your favorite coffee?
Thank you so much for this informative, easy to follow video!!😃
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for Watching and your kind Words!!!😁😀(❁´◡`❁)(●'◡'●)
Dad.... You da bomb my friend. TheCowgirlangel is spot on. Website was not helpful at all. Just showed how to clean the 'piercing' part. Not at all helpful with descaling. The instructions on the bottle were OK, but watching you go step by step makes the written instructions much clearer. As I am writing this.... I am 10 minutes into the 30 minute waiting period. Thanks my friend. 🙂
Hi. Thanks for the instructions. Getting ready to do my first descaling. I got my kselect 5 mos ago. I wondered if I had to wait for the descale light to come on. I appreciate the info!!! Easy and informative!!! Thank you!!!
it will come on over time but I would keep up on the descale and do it about every 6 or 8 months, if you have really hard water then maybe every 4 months.
This was so informational and helpful! Thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!!
What is your favorite K cup?
Thank you very much for the clear step by step instructions

Absolutely great instructional video. Really appreciate you thoroughly going through the proper process. Thank you for the share!
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much. I didn't know what to do. Your video helped a lot.
You're welcome! Good job getting it done!!!
Thank you for your informational post! It was very helpful.

What is your favorite kcup?
I appreciate that you made this video. Thankyou
My pleasure!
thank you for the step by step process
Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much : )
You're very welcome!
Hi! Thank you so much for this video! It was the first one recommended when I searched on CZcams!
Quick question, do you know what the rinse pods are for? Is this something you do in between ?
Awesome tutorial
Thank you
Very good video. Bravo!
Thanks Dad for the help!!
Happy to help!
Omg... no where in the user manual does it say that the descale light is to tell you it's time to descale not that it's a manual function... I thought I was doing something wrong. I've never had my light come on so that's a good indicator that I'm doing something correctly. I have had my machine, the same model as in your video, for almost 2 years now. 😂
Very helpful thank you
Thanks so much. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video!!!!! Thank you alot
Glad it helped!
Hello…the add water light did not come on. Is it suppose to light up after the descaling solution & water are emptied out of the reservoir?
Thanks for the video
Your welcome!!
Thank you for this video. It helped a lot. My add water light isn’t coming on after I started the descaling… unsure what I did wrong -
That happens to mine and lots of other peoples machines. fill the water tank up and lift it on and off the machine, that should get it to work again.
Great video BUT what about the rinse pods it comes with?? You didn’t mention anything about them???
Thanks pops
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I've seen so many with white vinegar and vinegar doesn't work well on these particular coffee makers. It can help but not fully and overtime they will eventually shut down
I bought this pack for descaling. you did not use the Kcup it came with or the filter it came with. What are those for?
I can't set my descale light to come on. I've tried the 8 and 10 oz hold buttons and it doesn't come on. I ve had the solution in my keurig for almost 20 mins now. Do I have to start over?
I just bought this model. I had a KSupreme and followed the instructions for descale and it never powered back up. Tried everything to get it powered up again. Saw your video on taking the thing apart and pressing the reset button but wasn’t going to go through all that. I hope when the time comes to descale this one I don’t have that issue again. It’s very disheartening and costly.
Thank you
You're welcome
My descale light is on and the machine will not run. I hit the brew button and the machine powers off after a second or two. What do I do to reset it?
How do you turn on the descale light?
I cannot get mine to run even after turning off auto off, it still just shuts off. Light just came on today and we have incredibly soft water here.
I plan on doing it every 2 months when I replace the filter, also you should use filtered or distilled water when descaling not tap water.
Thanks for the tip, Thanks for Watching!!!
@OneDayAfterAnother because of the minerals in tap water, the point of descaling is to get rid of the grime and the mineral build up, so if you use tap water you are basically replacing the mineral build up with more minerals.
@OneDayAfterAnother no they don’t.
My descale never came on yet it was only putting out a fraction of the hot water. 1/2 a cup.
Used white vinigar 1/2 water. Ran 6 to 8 large cups. Now seems fine.
Yeah it may not come on but it is a good idea to keep up on the descale of your machine. sometimes when the light comes on it is too late and it is there is too much mineral build up on the inside.
I can’t get my descale light to go off and I did the vinegar once
I tried what u did my light won’t come on when I push 12
That’s the one we have!!!
I’m cleaning it right now!!!! Friday 4:30
Awesome, you got this. thanks for Watching!!!
@@JustADad taste better then before!!!!!! Great coffee
@@robertowens2133 Awesome good job!!
My descale button is red it won’t turn on it’s just red
Do you take out the old pod before descaling
Yes make sure the k cup area is empty with no pod in it.
How do you get to descaling
This machine does not have a descaling mode.
Took 4 years for my descale light to come on...
After I press the any size of the coffee that I want it turns off within a second why?
sounds like a clogged upper needle
@@JustADad I just saw it seems very claughed
My add water light never came on 🤔
Sometimes that happens, not sure why.
What is your favorite K cup?
When do i use the rinse pod?
I use one about every 3 weeks, make sure the to do about 3 clean water rinses after the rinse pod
@@JustADad thank you.
My K Select, only 3 weeks old, keeps dripping after brewing. It used to stop dripping after 2 drips. Now it drips 7 or 8 before it stops. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Sorry to hear that. I have seem some of my other machines do this. I think it will stop after time but you are right it should not be happening. I would call keurig 866-901-2739. They are good if you have proof of purchase. Not really sure why it happens, 2 or 3 drips are normal. Is this after you remove the K cup? if not remove the K Cup and see what happens. it might just be the leftover water in the k cup.
@@JustADad They are sending me a replacement pod holder they feel will take care of it. We shall see. It drips with the pod in the holder, right after a cup of coffee is made.
@@VIDEOHEREBOB Yeah not sure how that will fix it, let me know if it does. Seems like it is building up too much pressure inside and it can not hold it back after it was done brewing, that is what I thought, like it was inside the unit. Glad they are at least trying and they might know best what is wrong. I bet if this does not fix it they will send you a new one. Thanks for the update
What about red light is on, power go off him self
Does anyone know how to take the descale light out?
Other than running descale solution through it, I am really not sure.
@@JustADad What happens when the light is on and it immediately stops when you hit the brew button?
@@GP-bs3mn This could be couple things. first check make sure needles are not clogged. czcams.com/video/0rllhiWP2gk/video.html
Then It might be really built up with minerals on the inside. I would call Keurig customer care at 866-901-2739.
@@JustADad When I said light I meant the descale light. It hasn't been descaled in about a year and a half.
@@GP-bs3mn That is kind of a long time if you have hard water. When you do the descale let it soak for about 30 min once you run the solution through before you do your fresh water rinse.
damn this long winded grandpa simpson style video.
Mine won’t brew at all it shuts off
It sounds like your needles might be clogged. Check out my video and let me know how it goes. czcams.com/video/0rllhiWP2gk/video.html
@@JustADad My "add water" light comes on when I'm doing a regular brew but NOT during this process.
GREAT VIDEO, BTW!!!!
@@denisemmitchell3817 same!
Won't descale light is on ,,
Will not descale ,, will not pump water descale souliton or anything,, descale light is on !!
Watch how you describe your video,,, didn't help
Perhaps not talk about descalers preferences and get down to the basics of how to clean your Keurig.
Noted, thanks for watching
It's good to know someone's preferences, so the person who doesn't know can learn what does and doesn't work.
13.97 my butt lol that's funny try 20 bucks lol
yeah it has gone up. lol
