  • Hi! In this vid I talk about three phases that seemed to occur for me in my recovery from anorexia, specifically regarding working towards mental freedom and head space away from food and weight. I'm not sure if this would be the same for everyone, but thought I'd share my experience anyway. Lots of love to you xx

Oh no, I hope your head heals quickly. Autsch... take good care of yourself 🍀.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and opinions. It helps a lot. I was in quasi for too long. I always wanted things to change but never really let go of the disease completely. In September I realized that I am now out of treatment for over two years and nothing has changed, at all. My thoughts are still the same and I never committed fully. Now I finally decided to make changes because when I´ve learned something by now it's: I can't expect changes if I don't do things differently.
    Lots of love

Aw thank you! My head healed very quickly! My doctor was impressed haha. Thanks to recovery, my body is healthy now and heals fast!
Ah quasi is so so rough. I got stuck there a couple of years back. I'm so glad that you're making real change now. It feels really tough in the moment, but the rewards are incredible. You're absolutely right. A quote from Einstein sticks with me: 'insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.' We can't get rid of our eating disorders unless we actually do things differently. Lots of love to you too xx

this was so helpful. i’m 8 months into recovery now & stil think abt it a lot. so good to hear that one probably needs more than a year to start thinking abt other stuff. i was so scared that i’m doing something wrong bc it takes so long for me, but your video really helped! you’re an amazing person!

so glad it was helpful! Yes it can take a while to get some head space- neural rewiring takes a LOT of cognitive effort and energy. You'll get there eventually, hang in there! xxx

      P. S. Thank you for helping me feel more accepting of being a 'recovery bore'....... I feel so sorry for my parents since opening up about my thoughts, fears, eating disorder recovery. Guilty that despite already putting them through the pain of seeing me self destruct, I am now talking about the intrusive thoughts and through my 'healthy self' s' response(all the reasons why it is OK to eat more and so opposite actions) , which must be so tedious and repetitive for them. I hate the fact that recovery is aided by reaching out and piling more of my annoying self on them. I think that guilt inhibits me to a degree. Lots of love

Thank you! My head is healing very quickly, because my body is so much healthier now- another benefit of recovery!
I'm glad my vid has helped you to be more accepting! Yes I felt like a total bore to my family for quite a while because my mind was almost solely focused on recovery...Plus I really needed to say certain things aloud to get affirmation and also remind myself of the truth when my mind was throwing up anorexia crap. Ultimately your family will be so so so much happier that you are talking about recovery and actually IN recovery, rather than watching you go down anorexia's deadly path. It does get tedious sometimes for everyone, but you know what, it really doesn't last forever and in the end if it helps with recovery, then that's just what we need to do! Gradually you'll find yourself thinking and talking less about recovery and eating disorders, but you don't need to force it, it happens very naturally :) Lots of love xx
