Amy's Life I start my prep in a few days. This is the first time I've used my J-Tube for clean out. At this point in my life, it will be the only way I can handle in since I no longer have a stomach, gal bladder, and some diseased intestine has been removed.
I always feel like there is no one out there like me :(
Take Care and hope everything is positive so I know what it's going to do for me. :(

Amy, I haven't been diagnosed with gastroparesis and don't think I have it, but I do have slow motility (things go slowly through my system!). A Gastroenterologist Consultant (aka Gastro doc!) has said I have chronic constipation (I typically bleed after a bowel movement, and a week or two's worth of contents exits at one time so it's quite a workout and very painful!). The same Gastro doc was randomly flicking through my xrays, mris, and other contrasts and says it would have been easily evident to anyone that for several months prior I had quite severe chronic impaction, no wonder it hurt! I have other issues which means that taking fluids and medications that you need to mix with water is not possible and actually makes me worse. Two years ago I was only drinking about 600mls on good fluid days, whilst sweating overly profusely, during a heatwave in the middle of a super hot summer, and I was still somehow peeing (it is because of the OCD thing I have about peeing before bed, and I had to use random muscles to pass semi solids from my bladder. It was once in 24hrs, but easier with once in 48hrs when I had an insomniac night!). It is getting worse. Last summer I went to my parents to see if they could help, and although it was cooler, I didn't drink much more.
I would like to email you or contact you somehow, so that I can ask certain questions about your surgery that you likely won't put in a video, they are weird questions! If you could let me know either way, I'd appreciate it. Thankyou in advance!

You can actually have very normal amount of stool on TPN as its not fully usable by the body so it is filtered through your liver and deposited into your GI tract. Along with the natural mucus and bile waste products that is passed from your intestines, there is people that end up still having proper bowel movements.

This is not medical advice, but I was advised to take 4 tablets of Senna (the one tablet will sort it type!) the day before you start taking the prep. I had morning appointments, so for me it was the day before. I also did not receive the moviprep in time so I had to improvise. I ended up having 8 sachets of my laxative movicol in about 500mls (I used a bottle and chugged). I think I took the bottle concoction with the Senna, and another bottle of it in the morning of the next day. I also might have taken another type of 'prep' in the form of possibly more Senna, or movicol, or lactulose, or a combination. I can't recall if I did that or not. I also started having foods that were easier to clear out almost a week in advance, such as noodles with more water to turn it into noodle soup, turning gravy into a broth with something, or just having rice or bread because it just tends to disintergrate. I end up taking ginger biscuits when I'm feeling nauseus as it's the only ginger tasting thing I can tolerate. Other ginger tasting things add to the nausea, so does anything like water or mint. Weird huh!

I drink a gallon a day, not recommending that but are you able to drink water in general?? If so, a cup of warm lemon/lime water every single morning helps with digestion. 😊😊 So glad to see you back, I’ve miss you!!! Best wishes with it all love ❤️

I've got to have one within the next month because I've been having problems with my stomach since 2005. None of the meds I've been put on have worked so now they're having a look. I'm scared. One the biggest questions I have is, if you have sedation, does it work? I hate what you have to go through because you're such a great person but you're so strong and I hope you realise how much of an inspiration you are to us all. ❤❤

Holly T for colonoscopies and endoscopies they do sedate you I’ve had two I have Crohn’s disease and the worse part is literally the prep but the procedure is ok they put an iv in you they do your height and measurement and basic tests for when you go to the doctor for anything then they give you prep meds oh I forgot to mention you are naked and you have a gown on the back doesn’t close completely so you kinda gotta hold it closed if you get up they get you comfy in a bed depending on what they give you you might not remember much or you might remember everything before they sedate you the first time they took my bed into a room and there were two nurses and a doctor with a bunch of equipment they told me to turn over on my left side and pull my knees to my chest they put a little mouth guard in and they gave me oxygen a nurse told me to count and I did I fell asleep and woke up crying which can happen the second time I had it done I didn’t even remember being taken out of the room I woke up sore and sleepy they gave me anxiety medication before they put me to sleep so I would wake up crying and fighting

I haven’t watched the video all of the way yet and I’m not sure if you’ve answered this before in another video, but if you don’t mind me asking, I’m curious what it felt like before you were diagnosed with gastroparesis? Like how it felt when it first started? I currently am diagnosed with GERD which I’ve had since birth but the last couple months i literally cannot eat without having pain and problems and feeling sick. I get very bloated on top of my usual GERD symptoms (esophageal cramps/spasms, heartburn, vomiting, gas, etc.) but I’ve read somewhere gastroparesis can be mistaken for GERD! I’ve never had pain like this before throughout my whole life having this and I’ve already lost 10 pounds, I’m getting worried for myself.. kitty knowles I don’t have EDS, at least not diagnosed, but I’m wondering. I do have fibromyalgia, hyper mobile joints, and gastroparesis. When my joints dislocate, it sort of depends on the joint and the circumstance. Sometimes it hurts, some times it’s just a minor discomfort, sometimes it’s purely annoying. Depends on how it came out, what it got stuck on, etc. Fingers and toes rarely hurt for me. Hips, shoulders, and ankles often hurt. Elbows and knees are excruciating. Idk if hers is the same, but that’s me.

You could just do videos that have no camera based stuff, but if you do stuff such as art or other things, can you take photos of it with the camera facing down? You don't go into what aspect of you is disabled, and what symptoms that 'disability' gives you. I have Chronic Conditions and would say that I am both ill and disabled. Am I reading this right, this was published yesterday but only has 9 views?? Wut 0.o anyway... Hi Amy, love your videos, most people (my self included) have no clue how much having a chronic illness impacts people!! You're ways so bubbly and positive and I don't always watch your vids because notifications are hit and miss but good luck with your studies (last vid I watched you were applying or preparing to study) I love your Instagram and screw Dr Phil, you guys are cute and super epic and of course I don't know you personally but you guys seem very supportive of each other! Xx Nyssa from New Zealand (originally UK, like yourself, I actually thought you lived in the UK for like the first year or nearly that long I was watching your vids, my brain is a bit slow sometimes)
Edit: it says uploaded 16mins ago... And the discription says uploaded on the 18th, I just worked out CZcams just runs on American time and doesn't adapt to match the viewers location 🧐 I have been using this site since I was like 9 and now I'm nearly 23 😅 I'm a simpleton haha
