Battlefield 4 Any% Speedrun Former World Record

- Battlefield 4 full game speedrun on easy difficulty. So close to sub 1h 59min but of course I had to choke in the last level. RTA 2h 1min 32s.

Run breakdown and possible improvements:
- Baku has possible 5+ second improvements.
- Shanghai has 5-10 seconds with better gunfights.
- South China Sea has 10+ seconds with faster diving, better gunfights and without potatoing shooting the 3rd chopper.
- Singapore has possibly 5-10 seconds with better gunfights.
- Kunlun Mountains has 30+ seconds with better gunfights and without enemies hiding.
- Tashgar has possibly 5-10 seconds with better gunfights.
- Suez has 20-30 seconds with better gunfights.
Even if low balling, there's over a minute of possible time saves so a sub 1 hour 58 minute run is clearly possible.
A recurring theme in this game are gunfights where you have to kill all enemies until you can move on. This is where most of my improvements compared to prior runs came from and where there's still room to improve. For example, Shanghai has 4 unskippable gunfights. 2 in the sky bar and 2 on top of the roof. Improving these would save me approx 5-10 seconds. Learning where the enemies usually are and using spotting / binoculars does help you a lot. Sometimes enemies like to run around aimlessly or go hiding so spotting helps finding these enemies easily.
The game also relies heavily on triggers that you can't skip so out of map glitches are not really useful in this game except for in the level Tashgar. Using Shanghai as an example again, without having to hit the triggers in order until the end, you could complete the level in theory in less than 5 minutes. You can glitch out of map quite early in the level and can then run to where the end of the level would be but since the triggers aren't completed and buildings / props don't load, you can't do anything.

God, i remember doing this campaign on ps3, the most bugged thing I've ever played.
Black Wolf bf4 is a great game one of my favorites but it’s full of undelivered promises

Xbox one is so bugged. Characters going through walls, seeing through walls, etc. On the mission where youre escaping from prison after you get off the elevator, i walked to the left to kill more dudes then turned back to get ammo and i could see through the wall and see the skybox. I then walked out onto the stuff outside and proceeded to fall. After you finally escape and get outside, one of the helicopters rammed the mountain and blew up
It's still pretty buggy on pc in 2021

probably my favourite game ever, but my god it has some bugs.
lmao did not know that you could hijack those trucks in the first mission. And the fact that the drivers keep their momentum after being kicked out is humorous.
Love yer speed run, gave me some tips and tricks, but gonna try beat yer number 1 time, wish me luck.
That elevator glitch was amazing, I know you could get out before it went down and I was messing around at it trying to see if I could progress but just didn't see what you did, amazing!!

Yeah, it's a slightly frustrating bug and I have no idea what causes it. I don't remember it happening on PS4 so maybe it's a PC only thing or tied to your frame rate?

I actually liked the campaign but I had a huge problem with the game not saving so I had to restart 2 or 3 times
I remember this bug it was made even more frustrating because the game kept crashing also forcing a restart.
man the campaign so bugged but honestly i still replay the campaign over and over to this day every so often
my game is bugged, the beginning part with the grenade launcher and the heli when youre in the suv has a glitch where the grenade launcher doesnt do shit against the heli

Hey I'm practicing speedrunning for BF4 and I think I found a new strat that skips most of tashgar ,is that allowee in the rules??
Skips and glitches are allowed and we already use a small skip in Tashgar at the elevator. Looking forward to seeing if what you've found is useful!

Just pause the game during the scene (when Irish gives you the gernade launcher) so the game can load. There is no visual clues that the game is loading, just pause and wait for like 10 seconds. Then it should work.

If you’re playing on Xbox in mission 3 if you spam A you can warp in front of Irish and have him push you to the end
So doing this could fix the swimming bug? Or at least be faster?

if you go any faster then the game is meant to be played, the game bugs out like hell. also, is it just me, or is the scout elite a REALLY bad sniper?
It’s just you.
It’s easy to get, and doesn’t take that much time, usually does the job, and has variable zoom. That’s why I like the sniper under the bridge in the prison level.
Variable zoom, in my opinion is the best attachment for every weapon. The only problem with the Scout Elite is the stability. But once you can handle it, it’s a nice sniper.
This may vary within versions, and I play on PS3.

Very disappointing game just like Battlefield 3 and I haven't played them much! Crashes/bugs and bad field of view, so many times enemies are in my face, but I don't even see them!
