Thank you for sharing, Stan! Great opportunity for anyone looking to change up their business and try something new. This academy looks like an exciting way to learn!
Going back to your talk of guys slacking off I mentioned that a single guy is worth $125 per hour. I would be losing money if my return was only $51 per hour even going back to 2008. I retired back in 2013. I talked to many landscapers, listening to them they never wanted to get off the machine! You can't make money on a machine, or selling, or managing people. Hire people who are smarted than you in the area you are lacking. So a foreman should be able to understand plans, knows human resources and which men to place on the jobs. I want my sales men to understand what it takes to install a job. My estimators had a work sheet and we could adjust our gross margin from 35% on larger jobs to 65% on small jobs. Once I had the right people we could achieve a running 50% gross margin. The Real secret is to hire people smarter than you in one area of your business and to keep filling areas with people that are a help to your business.
Great video! Greg from Aquascape lays out all the steps for anyone to be successful with water features, you just have to follow the steps. If you do, you’ll be successful. There’s Contractors all over the world proving it works. Get out of your own way! The academy will teach you everything that you need to know to be successful.
I went to the Starting and Seceding coarse at Aqua Scapes in 2021. Loved it and recommend that if you can go there! Greg is so intense but you learn so much.
Enjoyed the video alot of info on the business side of a company and not just the grunt work of building a successful business on being street smart as well book smart.
It's GREAT to get an independent third party endorsement for our programs! We've helped thousands of contractors find a profitable and fulfilling career over my two decades with Aquascape... I'm proud of the work we do. Check out this video from Stanley "Dirt Monkey" Genadek.
Stan just keep doing what you do. Everything you do is like life. You don't have to please everyone. Just please your self. If you do it right everyone will be happy. No matter what you can't please everyone. Be yourself. Have a good night. God bless you be safe.
Thank you. Your getting to the big 1m. Watch all your videos. Rise in tides lifts all. More please buddy, one day hope i get to shake your hand, until then keep being you.
Ok, just where were these resources 20 years ago, when I still had some joints left?!? Lol. Just doing the research for products could take weeks, if not months. And then it could be hit or miss if ya made enough to show a profit margin? Folks, y'all are damn lucky that Stan is showing ya where to add "niche" to your business AND a better way to address your business, no matter what ya do... Thanx ! Even tho I'm too far past prime, lol!!
This sounds like those get rich quick infomercials where they sell you a course on how to get rich quick (by making get rich quick infomercials) but with the added step of making aquascapes...
I'm not likely to start a pond business myself, but this is still interesting and inspiring! Years ago this could have been my choice. As you say, "frickin incredible" video. I want to know how they keep the raccoons from fishing there.
You're absolutely right if you don't like what you do you'll be miserable working. My love is Aviation and I've been in the Airline industry for 22 years mostly as a Marshaller but I'll jump in and throw bag's if I have to.
@@Dirtmonkey Watching you and Ryan from Outdoor Victory makes me really appreciate what you guy's do. I do a little dry wall, 6 foot Vinal fencing and landscaping on the side to keep my carpentry skills up.
Dude, don't worry about making videos just for views. I watch damn near every video you put out. Just because you got toys that cost a much as a brand new truck and more. Plus helps me out with how to do work like what you do.
Only request I have.. no more unboxing.. I'd rather see.. I've had this product in my hands for 90 days.. here are the high points.. here are the low points.. could I bet my ability to make money using this. Unboxing and assembly videos.. is like watching Jerry Lewis and Gomer Pyle test removing a prom dress on a test dummy after two bottles of laced sarsaparilla.. funny.. like a car crash
Good beautiful evening Stan! Pond work is something id love to learn more about! Off the cuff question, Do you dethatch properties yearly or every few years? Thanks for posting! See you friday!
Hey hey Stan,, how are things going, today was a pretty nice day, tomorrow is going to rain, but Friday and Saturday are looking good, i have one Lawn Friday night then 3 lawns Saturday and then after I finish the lawns Saturday i am going to go to the car show that the towns having, can’t wait to do it. Maybe even get some food from a food truck, anyways Stan, god bless and go get em, your pal and friend Alexander costa
I use to build ponds in the back yard when I was a kid now I got all this equipment now I could do twice the damage to under ground lines then I use to as a kid lol👍
Stan I have a question. How does someone with no experience in the lawn care area. How would I go about starting my own business? I currently work loading and unloading airplanes for UPS. But as a supervisor I'm not allowed to work. I'm 24 turning 25 I enjoy working alongside my crew but unfortunately I'm not supposed too.
Talk to as many entrprenuers as you can. Start learning from those around you. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Some of it will be true and some will not. Seek higher education or training in the fields you are interested. For instance what Greg does is probably the BEST business training I have ever seen first hand. I would honestly start with his training even if you have no interest in ponds.
@@Dirtmonkey you did not like it even with the money dangling in front of you? If so, I totally respect that, if for any other reasons, I also respect it🤣🤣

Do you know if those numbers also include whatever payout they need to do to aquascapes? Or is that roughly 60% margin after everything is completely paid for (sans Uncle Sam)?
Absolutely! Probably 1k below the minimum tax bracket like most contractors tax statements. Work at a bank in the lending department and you find out real quick who cheats on taxes.
This isn't a franchise. To install a pond you need a filter, liner and a pond kit. Thats what he built and thats what he sells in his company. So he doesn't charge for the knowledge he charges for the pond kit you need to do the work anyway..
I know about 20 seniors with small gates and large backyards that cant find anyone to mow in my region. A single guy with a small pickup and very basic gear could "clean house".
